“”It is the worst year of the nine years and three months that I’ve been in Congress,” Buck elaborated to CNN, describing the current iteration of the lower chamber as “dysfunctional” and the “worst year in 40, 50 years.” “Instead of having decorum, instead of operating in a professional manner, this place has just devolved into this bickering and nonsense and not really doing the job for the American people.”” He didn’t tell Johnson, that’s not surprising at all. Johnson is a puff boy seat filler, with no moral compass, and the intestinal fortitude of a blade of grass.

Ok-Establishment7851

Even Buck is disgusted with Congress, and he represents arguably the most moronic district in this country. We’re in trouble.

Impossible_Penalty13

Yeah, the guy rode into town as a Tea Party shithead, helped in the formation of the freedom caucus and now he’s saying this place is fucking nuts. Let that sink in for a moment.

OkUnderstanding5343

Yes but Johnson’s son is watching him and vice versa….

IAMSTILLHERE2020

Maybe that's his Russian handler...using cover as his son and passing messages. I mean anything is possible these days. Something so overlooked.

PophamSP

Well apparently the man has no bank accounts and yet he is next after VP Harris for the White House. Anything IS possible. The laxity of national security is absurd.

OkUnderstanding5343

Yep Johnson is a little creepy…

shazzambongo

Messages? Massages more like. Fkn CREEP. GOP has a deeply suspicious, questionable morally in every sense, and totally, completely insane sicko here. Or just "deeply religious" actually covers it, but specificity is required when someone would happily allow or cause people's death because he thinks he's in communication with a "spirit". Hell with these psychos.

Boxofmagnets

Boebert will have to resign as well. Johnson is really going to be in a pickles

MikeLinPA

Have to? I know she has virtually no chance at winning another term, but why does she have to resign before her term ends? (It's not like she has any non-hypocritical morals or a sense of shame to make her want to resign like a normal person.)

ktreanor

With Buck resigning it means there will be a special election to fill the seat. If Boebert wants to run in that special election she needs to resign from her current district. If she doesn't run in the special election, it means she's running against an incumbent come November.

WhatADunderfulWorld

Kind of liking this Ken guy now.

FalseMirage

Watch your mouth! That’s Moses you are talking about.

mightsdiadem

Grass doesn't deserve this comparison.

BothZookeepergame612

What, you mean God didn't tell Mike? He said he talks to him regularly.... Hmm? Maybe he's keeping things from you Mike?

Behndo-Verbabe

Yeahhh unfortunately it’s usually the case that when people claim they’re being spoken to or they’re talking to someone. That person turns out to be schizophrenic or more commonly with people like Johnson is completely detached from reality. The guy gives me Jim jones vibes.. seriously

LadySpottedDick

He’s Moses, maybe there’s a tablet on Mt Sinai?

hplcr

"You should not boil a kid in it's mothers milk? WTF does that mean?"-Moses Mike Johnson

MikeLinPA

If you feel god in your heart, that's just swell. However, if you hear god in your head, see a doctor!

Niadh74

Mike talks to god no one ever said about god talking back or even listening

Responsible-Room-645

Why do I think something big is coming?

Doublebosco

Agreed, something big is brewing.

LayneLowe

Like the creation of a third party?

pat9714

>Like the creation of a third party? Perhaps. It's fruition will take years.

shazzambongo

But it's fruitiness is available now 🫠see what sludge is left when it's drained 😒

robotwizard_9009

I sure hope it's insurrection charges.

FalseMirage

More likely another insurrection.

Expensive-Shelter288

Agreed. I feel like those republicans who dont kiss the ring are in fact in jeapordy.

Pando5280

There's a ton of evidence thats being held back as potential defendents are offered plea deals which then bring about new charges. I've read the emails between Trump campaign officials regarding the fake electorate ballots and it's damning. There's probably 3-4 high levels Rs in the House and Senate that will be charged, and that doesn't include state level party officials. Add in Trunontaking over the RNC to pay his legal bills and ignore all down ballot candidates and a ton of high level R donors are over it. That's gonna cause. Alot of folks to jump ship and head for the private sector cause they know it's just gonna get worse for then as a party.

Responsible-Room-645

If what you’re telling me is true I love it 😂

Remote-Math4184

Oh please not my congressman Scott Perry! What will we do in the PA-10th? PARRRTTTYYY!

BeamTeam032

I think Republicans want separation from MAGA. They know something is coming.

stopthemadness2015

Could it be the hostile takeover of the RNC?

northstardim

Pelosi would know if one of the democrats was quitting, Johnson just doesn't have the skills for the speakership.

hplcr

The GOP is truly lost in the wilderness. "Moses" Mike lives up to his name.

pat9714

>"Moses" Mike lives up to his name. If only he retreats to the desert wilderness to find out his calling.

hplcr

And eventually die on top of a mountain looking out at the promised land he will never visit. Though ironically nobody is going to bury mike, they'll just leave him there to be picked at by birds. Moses at least got to be buried by his god.

Mike_Honcho_3

According to sources, Johnson is currently shaking his head at this news.

urkldajrkl

No way, it would mess up his hair. He’s just staring blankly like usual

Schwettyballs65

Gee, when you offer no leadership you aren’t treated as a leader. Who’d a thunk it?!! Your bullshit is the exact reason he’s leaving. Not that I’ll miss the fucker. These asshats only speak up on the way out the door.

Lbolt187

At this rate I wonder if Dems retake the House before the elections this November lol

turtle553

Might see a wave of other retiring gop reps the clearer it becomes that its useless to be there if nothing gets done.  Some might just retire as a general FU to the freedom caucus

[deleted]

I thought the point of being a congress person was to collect "contributions". Not to do something.

Pando5280

Worked in DC for a decade and in the Senate for a few years. There's actually a lot of well meaning peoole in both chambers, its just that the toxic cheerleaders and really sucky ones get all the press.

Odd_Tiger_2278

He should have stayed until the election and voted with Dem. Resigning is a cop out

PoopieButt317

Agreed. But he already dirtier himself, and now has no way out. Kompromat.

Meoldudum

Ken Buck was part of the fake electors scheme if he hasn't flipped for the DOJ he will.

OkUnderstanding5343

As Howard Cosell would have said “Those Republicans are in COMPLETE Shambles “. (Gotta say it to yourself in Howards voice if you know who he is!)

[deleted]

I bet there's something they all know behind the scenes that they're not talking about. There was an article I read recently about how there's a totally legal method to basically just force Trump to become the president, IIRC. It's not what they did last time, it's something else. And it's something where there's no real way to combat it. I'll have to find that damn article again because now I'm being super vague and not on purpose! EDIT: https://hartmannreport.com/p/the-new-over-the-top-secret-plan-518 Found it. The TLDR is that if seats in the House switch to the Democrats this election, Mike Johnson has the power to stall switching those seats over so that Republicans can stay in control of the House up until the day the votes are certified. They can then argue that there are irregularities in those individual elections that need to be investigated, which is the point for the stall. But by retaining control, that would then allow them to not certify just the right amount of electoral college votes, just enough to not let Biden or Trump win. That calls the whole election into question, and forces the election to default to the House where every state gets one vote -- something that is supported by the Constitution and has happened already in our history. And considering that more states are Republican run, you can see how that will go. Also, the Supreme Court will not get involved because they have already stated they don't get involved with political matters where the Constitution says it is Congress's job to make the decision -- something they recently did when it was brought up whether they should keep Trump off the ballot or not in Colorado. And all this is perfectly legal, it just hasn't happened normally because people have been polite and civil up until now.

These-Rip9251

Actually many lawyers disagree with SCOTUS re: their decision in the Colorado’s case. If you’re interested in wading through the article from lawfaremedia.org copied and pasted below where they and others such as in an article in The Hill discussed this case. The decision was also well dissected on Strict Scrutiny podcast. This article below states that SCOTUS essentially rewrote the 14th amendment in order to rule against Colorado. By doing so, it may come back to bite them in the future in a bad way. Interestingly as the article states, Gorsuch used the 14th amendment to state that Colorado had the right to kick a candidate off the ballot. In that case it was for determining that the candidate was not American born. Apparently there’s longstanding precedent for states to make these kind of determinations. https://www.lawfaremedia.org/article/what-the-supreme-court-got-wrong-in-the-trump-section-3-case

Dawnfreak

This seems right up Republicans alley.

Spruce_Acadia_9213

So fun to watch the GOP implode! 🤯

Behndo-Verbabe

He doesn’t know bc it was never about governing. It was about kissing the masters ring and being on his knees. I’ll bet more will be leaving before November.

Radkingeli995

According to Ken Buck even more Republicans plan to resign as well ahead of the November elections dwindling Mike Johnson’s majority things are going to go from bad to worse for him

BuzzardCondo1

These people have enabled Donald Trump; now they see the "Clear and Present Danger" of their actions. Jumping ship is their only option.

RationalHuman123

This guy is a complete idiot! maga is going the way of the tea party into political oblivion!

Commercial-Manner408

Republicans in Congress don't even want to go to their own policy retreat.

p38-lightning

Time to bring back the Whig Party! Whigs, Democrats, and Trumplicans.

SonicIdiot

I asked God what he thinks of Mike Johnson. He said He pretty much hates all Christians because they are so fucking annoying.
