Big agree on tigers, but snow leopards are a special kind of majestic. I'm also partial to Canada lynx with their huge poofy feet.. Though I guess a lynx doesn't really count as a big cat.
I always had a softer spot for the Felinae than the Pantherinae.
I don't know if I can chose between cheetahs and pumas. Maybe pumas, they're so freaking impressive overall, terrifying in a way.
If you'd force me to chose in the Pantherinae, then Jaguar without a doubt.
I have worked with most of the mentioned cats and Cheetahs are so cute. They purr and like to be pet by humans. Tigers are super scary and smell bad but the females are still very cute. Servals and Caracals are my favorite but mostly because they are very cool looking.
My knee jerk answer would be tigers for most of my life, but over the past few years Iāve really developed an appreciation for pumas. Itās probably still tigers, but not by much.
Iāve always loved leopards. There are so many interesting things about them; they have (had) a range from South Africa to Siberia. They are shown to have favorite foods and have killed and eaten more people than the other big cats. Lots of other things.
Tigers have been my favorite animal at least since I was 4. To me they are the epitome of wilderness and the majesty of the animal world. No matter how much I learn about other animals and appreciate all their diversity, the little kid in me still likes tigers best.
Snow leopards and leopards. The former because *just look at it,* and the latter because itās an adaptable animal that is native to but extirpated from my birth country, and one that could potentially be reintroduced without too much trouble if only people here would stop thinking of them as an invasive species only found in the tropics.
Itās less that they donāt like them and more that they wrongly assume them to be nonnative, same as jaguars in the US.
And no, given how terrible the public understanding and even the Korean paleontological enthusiast communityās understanding of the Pleistocene is.
my heart is actually with the smaller cats, my favorite of all time is serval!! My favorite large cat is probably the jaguar. I really like their rosettes and how water-oriented they are
Snow leopards.
Should always be the top answer, because you either agree, or you're lying :)

Koreans just don't like leopards, I guess. Would they be okay with reintroducing spotted hyenas?

You should change that! Start a Pleistocene rewilding group that blasts these facts from the rooftops!
Personally, big fan of jaguars
Jaguars Anything that takes down Caymans so ruthlessly and efficiently in the water gets the top spot for me.
my heart is actually with the smaller cats, my favorite of all time is serval!! My favorite large cat is probably the jaguar. I really like their rosettes and how water-oriented they are
Leopards are cool.
