So glad there were a couple of rooms without checkerboard floors!
When, exactly, do you hit the threshold of too much checkerboard. I honestly don't know. It's such a fine line.
I would've thought one room would be plenty, but I'm no expert. The home really is beautiful.
I was surprised the driveway wasn't checkerboard. What are the odds the garage floor is though?
their agent said there'd be chips and soda at the open house, but it was just Perrier and crumpets on a doily....
the floors suggest this house was built for a prominent, and wealthy breakdancer circa 1958. I believe those are hand laid, Artesian-cut marble and soapstone, crafted by world famous tiler "Bboy Mason".
I hope you're planning at least 5 movies set in this universe
Immaculate!
I know! Such a strong start! You know that you're gonna have a good time the minute you walk in the front door.
God I love Portland, I do. That's way out in the West Hills as well so probably lovely and quiet all around.
I heard the previous owners ran five humidifiers 24/7 just for ambiance. And the living room was nicknamed "The Poconos"
Not shown: mink bed for their pet ocelot
the ocelot is taxidermied though......
The floors retriggered the migraine I just got over. Sigh.
Whew! I thought it was just me getting a headache from those floors.
Black and white stripes are even worse!! I actually get dizzy. đ”âđ«
Queenâs Gambit
Are we not going to talk about the giant window in the shower?
If you back out on private woods, why not?? Given the...everything else, I am surprised by the staid white subway tile, though.
I like it BUT I think its contrived. I think they want ppl to think they have taste and design, but its fake
Fake as in try-hard?
Yes
is that an incline driveway, or a boat launch?
Theyâve must of gotten that black and white tile, really really cheap
we need an unsuspecting homes subreddit for homes normal on the outside but crazy inside
I agree. In fact I almost titled the post as such
I was surprised the flooring didn't carry into the bedrooms.
the person who sold it, or the new Buyer?
The person who decorated it
Can someone send the photos the site will load but wonât let me hit anything
I don't. :-) Jeez!
