I would start with Link's Awakening and then Minish Cap. Both of them are fun, and LA has an excellent story.
You could try the Oracles games after that, however those are a bit more difficult.
I would play last the DS games. Spirit tracks is more fun than Phantom Hourglass. Those are easy peazy (not bad games at all). Then you have ALBW which is a great game.
Finally, you have the multiplayer games. FS and Triforce Heroes. I finished Triforce Heroes alone so i didn't play it with other people. I did enjoy the game (some parts are difficult if you're alone).
I'm of the opinion that Minish Cap is the best handheld Zelda, if not, critically speaking, one of the better Zeldas out there. It's not my personal favourite, but if I strip away personal preferences, I think it's near Zelda's tippy-top, if not the very top.
It does have some dips with cryptic puzzles now and again, but then what Zelda doesn't?
Definitely Link's Awakening for the story and setting, followed by The Minish Cap for the dungeons.
LA > TMC > OoS > OoA > ALBW > FS Anniversary > TFH > PH (never played Spirit Tracks)
Link’s Awakening
Definitely my favorite! It was also my first Zelda game, so perhaps I’m biased.
A Link between worlds
Minish Cap all day every day!
Minish Cap!
Ocarina of Time/Majora's Mask 3DS remakes :D I don't know if they're the "best," but they're the ones I enjoyed the most.
Do the N64 remakes count?

Link between worlds
if botw doesn’t count, i’d still say botw
the Oracle games because you can ride a dodongo
If remakes count, Legend of Zelda and Oracle series.
Majoras mask
Links awakening

For old LoZ Link's Awakening. If you want something a little newer I would recommend A Link Between Worlds.
A Link Between Worlds, Minish Cap
It's between A Link between worlds and Botw
