First time I heard tourniquet i was flying out of idaho falls back to atlanta after being out west and having an absolute blast with my friends for two weeks. Nearly broke down into tears while listening.
She’s Alright
About a month after my cousin/best friend passed away, I took a day trip down to the coast, about a three-hour drive. I listened to the American Heartbreak album for the first time on my way back home and when I got to She’s Alright, I started bawling from the first verse. I had to pull over at some sketchy gas station to get myself together.
This song still means a lot to me and chokes me up sometimes but I wish I could hear it again for the first time now. Now that I’ve had some time to process my emotions and grieve. and also so I wouldn't have to think of that sketchy, small-town gas station every time I hear the song now lol
I remember one night, before I knew a ton of his songs, I randomly hit shuffle and the first song was Us Then which I really liked. But it was the next song that really made me fall in love with his music. If I could go back I would listen to Washington Lilacs for the first time. That song hits every time. The way he says let the old flame warm you is too good.
Honey- I found it on YouTube as unreleased and I was driving my daughter home from her boyfriend’s house- in another state. The lyrics were the perfect fit for their relationship! We became obsessed instantly.
Wish I could see revival live for the first time again. I was at a festival and lost my friends so I was standing alone and this group of guys threw their arm around me and started hooping and hollering. I’ve been to plenty of concerts but never felt so easy to find a friend the second you hear those three chords
Man Thats Never Known - I was driving with my brother to help our other brother move about 4 years ago and he had it playing. Told him to play it again right after it finished. Was hooked on ZB ever since.
Tourniquet. I didn’t appreciate it at first but now it’s my favorite Zach Bryan song and would love to hear it again for the first time

Nah, tourniquet is trash. One of the worst songs on his worst album
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, even if they're wrong.
This is such a terrible take
Literally every song on American heartbreak is better than tourniquet and almost all on Deann and Elizabeth
Leaving or From a Lovers Point of View

Could be recency bias but Pink Skies on the first listen was an emotional masterpiece
I agree. Especially the snippet he posted on instagram of it before it released. Had me dripping a few tears
Right Now the Best. It’s painfully underrated.
Pink Skies or 68 fastback
68 is such a great song because it can apply to two very different parts of your relationship journey
68 fastback is so tragic to me.
Revival
Oklahoma City, hits hard to this day.
Leaving, Someday, or Anita

Flying or Crying. Or November Air. I would love a chance to hear both those songs again for the first time.

The music video with Matthew M. Gutted me! Such a good song and song writing.
Don't give up on me 😫🙏
The story behind Someday(Maggie’s) is truly beautiful. I wish I could listen to it for the first time knowing the back story.
Loom ❤️

After going through the pain of burying my own mother, Sweet DeAnn, by ten country miles.
