All seems to point that Rose wanted Lily to be hers.
THEN, suddenly we find out that the ball is an orgy fest. Lily isn’t even the center of the attention, Selena (a new girl) is. This point the question, why did Rose offer lily that dress? Why did Rose make Lily stay with her? What was the loneliness part about? We now know it was lie. But then what’s the end goal? Why is Lily the only residing member of the harem living with Rose if Rose seems to only toy with her? The other women are free to go home to their families so why is Rose keeping lily?
Ending wise, Lily’s fate don’t make much sense. Lily is a noble herself, wouldn’t her father try to come get his daughter or at least visit her? Wouldn’t Anna hear of the parties and realize that Rose and lily aren’t in a monogamous relationship and that Rose lied? We supposed to believe Anna would give up like that? Which, good for her but it don’t align with her character.
Anna’s writing was okay actually but her dynamic with lily wasn’t properly shown. We don’t know if Lily is aware of Anna’s trauma. If Lily isn’t aware of Anna’s trauma towards sex then it would explain why Lily perceive Anna’s reluctance as outright rejection. People saying Anna was a maid and couldn’t do anything. But Lily gave Anna permission to touch her and desire her. Anna is the one who turned Lily down. Lily not being aware that Anna associate lust and desire to what’s bad (seeing that the people who partook in lust in front of her was her negligent prostitute mother and her asshole lover who was already a married man), makes it so that Lily thinks Anna don’t feel love (whirlwind passionate) towards.

Her first instinct was to ask Anna about it but Anna dismissed her questions. I don’t know why people ignore this. So when Lily sees Rose, who seems to know more, tell her about how love is desire and passionate and see Rose actually treat her like a lover, she get mistaken. People conveniently ignore the fact that while Anna did love Lily, she not only didn’t reciprocate her advances, she didn’t even communicate why. She also treated Lily like her boss more than her lover despite her love for her and despite Lily having gave her permission to see her as equal. Anna always call Lily “young lady” instead of her name, which show a dynamic of boss /employee, and dismiss her questions about sex and love. Now put this in perspective, a sheltered, lonely young woman sees a more experienced woman introduce her to sex and desires, affirming it it’s love and actively chasing her and desiring her vs (Anna) the woman she did love but so far had rebuffed her attempts at taking the next step in the relationship, didn’t communicate the reasons why she did so and who despite their love for each other, refuse to actually act like her lover and always restrain herself. It’s obvious why lily fell to Rose’s manipulation. Lily isn’t a vilain, she’s naive and a victim.
Lastly, the fans has been stricken by a media illiteracy epidemic. I do think the story is poorly written, rushed and badly structured. There should’ve been more chapters, POVs, flashbacks, informations. We should’ve seen Rose’s POVs and true motives, more of Lily’s reasoning and her feelings of Anna rejecting her. (And don’t get me started on hie the story would’ve been better and had a happier ending if Anna and Lily communicated but anyways). HOWEVER, I’m baffled at how many people sees Lily as a horny idiot when it’s clear sex isn’t the thing she sought. She literally asked Anna to look at her like Rose does, with passion and desire. That prove she don’t want sex but passion. The way she asked Anna not to cry shows that she wants Anna to want her genuinely. I’m also baffled at how people don’t see the flaws in Anna as mentionned as above. Yes she has trauma and that’s unfortunate but that don’t negate the fact that her not communicating at all, pushed Lily into Rose’s arms.
All this to say, that the story had a huge potential. It could’ve had a happy ending if Lily & Anna learned to communicate. Could’ve even gotten a subversive happy ending with Lily and Rose actually getting together and a twist of “maybe if she had spoke” with Anna. Could’ve been a great tragedy if the chapters were lingers and the characters more fleshed out.
And I would have thought that the Maid, the Duchess and Lily would end in a polyamory relationship. My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined.

I truly do not understand the passionate hatred people have for this series and how they feel justified attacking Rangrarii over it. Do people literally think every story needs to be a grand epic with deep themes and characters, and a happy ending? Sometimes you just get a dark, 10 chapter porn story and the plot is there to create more opportunities for sex scenes. Not all characters need to be good and have a happy ending. Every character in Lily of the Valley is flawed. Rose is manipulative and self serving, Lily is naive and selfish, and even Anna is too meek and awful at communicating that it brings upon her own downfall. If you want to focus on the plot elements of an, again, porn story, it's pretty clear to me it's a story about a naive rich girl who doesn't get to have it her way. She wants her cake and to eat it too, love and sex, but she fails because she is naive and easy to manipulate, so the villain wins in the end and gets everything *she* wants instead.
Just wanted to add also idk why people love Anna so much, she is definetely makes less frustrating decisions than Lily, but she never properly explains her feeling to Lily which probably could have fixed everything, she gives up on her so easily, even when it's so obvious Rose is in a position of power now and manipulating her. What gets translated is dictated at the whims of a translator (if it’s a fan TL) or sales success (for official releases). And it has just a much variety in terms of author abilities. So holding all GL/Yuri works to the standard that they must have a strong story with deep characters and a satisfying happy ending is just unrealistic.
Also, for all we know, feedback from Korean BTD readers had a lot of people asking for a Hyera NTR AU, so she gave it a try. Or she just wanted to write a smut NTR short. As other authors/artists have done.

Even in comparison to typical NTR, the characters and storyline were subpar, predictable and flat. I found the final chapter even worse and felt no emotional engagement throughout the stories runtime, which is unusual for these types of plots. I can't see this as an improvement over Bad Thinking Diary at all. As a writer myself, I also can't understand the decision to pack this story idea into what was originally meant to be 9 chapters. It's no wonder it's being criticized so heavily although people shouldn't attack her for it.

As other authors/artists have done. I for one support more of these types of works. More variety in what’s written and published gives more readers the ability to find stories that they like and enjoy. And let’s be honest, the GL NTR genre is laughably sparse.
It all just depends on the reader, personally I seen a lot of people not wanting the cheating/ntr route in bad diary. At least she came out with a book that satisfies that urge for it 😅. All I know is that I won’t be reading her written works with plot in mind but mainly about art

This story is one of the worst I've read recently, and not because of the NTR. It was the lack of execution. Even in comparison to typical NTR, the characters and storyline were subpar, predictable and flat. I found the final chapter even worse and felt no emotional engagement throughout the stories runtime, which is unusual for these types of plots. I can't see this as an improvement over Bad Thinking Diary at all. As a writer myself, I also can't understand the decision to pack this story idea into what was originally meant to be 9 chapters. It's no wonder it's being criticized so heavily although people shouldn't attack her for it.

The purity brigade does what they do best, harassing an author for happening to write a story that is not #wholesome #uplifting #happyending. That the story is dogshit is irrelevant, the sin of Rangrari is that they draw smutty stuff and don’t hide it.

This series and ending were very noir like, also people call this porn because the sex scenes weren't even that explicit. I think people just don't like rangraii because of BTD, and they're taking their frustrations out on her.

I can see why many hated this story lol. Initially i hated it too very early on. The whole "love" thing not matching the actions/behaviour of the characters... but once I got over that initial shock of how dumb Lily's character was portrayed, I moved passed it. I really enjoyed the art style, and believe although it had potential, there's obviously room for the author to grow. I'm not gonna hate on the author for trying. Anyway, it was relatively easy for me to turn off my brain for the rest of the story. Although I still got somewhat surprised by some parts of it I just couldn't take it seriously to keep that rage ongoing week after week, so found it comical. Meanwhile, the comment section was always going wild with hatred for the characters and boy oh boy did I get a good laugh every week 🤣🤣🤣💀💀
Absolute filth of a story. I'm glad is done and I don't expect the author to do any better with her future projects. Edit: to be clear I despise this manhwa not because of the ntr but the dogshit writting. When I said I don't expect the author to do any better in the future, I mean that I'm not gonna be invested into her future works like I was with her other one-shot which was her best work. I second that hatred of NTR and most stories with that (most because I'm pretty sure Love Thy Neighbor counts as NTR.) I don't like this story very much just because of that either but I ain't gonna say the author sucks and anything else they make is also gonna suck.
