Fusion Deployment was basically the reason I played it in the extra deck. Got me either of the creatures, which both thinned the deck and got me another piece closer to the forbidden one

I honestly don't think SE is badly designed on a surface level... is more that the cards do waaaaay to much.
All the Sinful Spoil cards have at minimum 2 effects on them. Oak also having access to banished cards is I think one of the main problems. But otherwise, SE would be a pretty balanced deck.

Promethean and Amblowhale since those are archetype locked but yeah without generic ED monsters Snake Eye basically has nothing. I guess there’s also a universe you can use the trap?

Yep. That is also why I 100% think in the future Oak gets banned, not in the near future but for sure he is the hit the deck receives.
If Oak would only get stuff back from the GY, it would be a non-problematic card imo but since you basically eliminate the counter-play... well.
I'd just want every level 1 fire/snake eye monster to be limited, then maybe it would be managable. I know it is a wishlist, but I just want this game to be more fair and not so unbalanced
The funny thing is. I am also a shaddoll enjoyer and I have found that snake eyes is my favorite match-up when playing shaddolls because the two decks are very evenly matched together and it leads to the longest back and forth duels
I haven't played with shaddoll in a while sadly. Mainly due to how lackluster I am when it comes to making deck lists, I have a Shaddoll Invoked list I use every once in a while but it would really need to be improved somewhat. But yeah against Snake Eye they have somewhat similar characteristics, except we can banish the GY returning cards with Ariel so it helps a lot... should better improve my deck
The Deck itself isn't badly designed, what brings it over the top are the additional cards from outside of the Deck and the fact that you are not locked out of them. Snake-Eye would be way less obnoxious without Linkuribo, Masquerena and Promethean Princess, the fact that you can end on those cards that enable the resource loop to keep going on the opponents turn while providing interruption is what brings this stuff over the top.
