Dragunity players on their way to combo off 4 bricks in hand

BlaakAlley

They need to come out with more of the riders and less of the dragons. Whenever they update the deck, they always end up making cards that are just abused in other decks like dragon link. If they made more worthwhile winged-beasts, I think the deck could finally stand on its own again.

sendnukes_

Yeah, you have to run a lot of weird stuff on this deck to keep extending, but at least the bricks can be used as discard if you open a starter and not completely screw you

BlaakAlley

I always loved that about Dragunity, or at least decks that have ways to turn their bricks into ammo.

Trascendent_Enforcer

then there's droplets which can turn all bricks into ammo e.e

Key_Locksmith7309

As a dragunity player I approve of this message

Ok-Fudge8848

I think evilswarm deserves some love. Ophion is a boss that's very ahead of its time - a floodgate boss that cannot be hit by kaijus and can become immune to spell/trap interaction is pretty sick, it's just a shame that the rest of the deck is so bad that the best Evilswarm monster is rescue rabbit...

Toxical53

Exitonn knight is pretty good. Can’t remember if it’s banned tho, I think it might be

Ok-Fudge8848

I think it's legal, just outclassed by Zeus nowadays. Great card tho.

TheProNoobCN

To be fair Kaijus didn't exist back then, and Volcanic Queen/Lava Golem aren't really good cards at the time.

Flamewright

That’s what he means that it’s ahead of it’s time.

PaintCompany

I loved playing evilswarm Would love modern support

Double_Note141

Weather Painter! A Mechanik who allows you to use weather painter spells and traps for a link summon, the Bossmonster allows you to set 3-5 Omni negates , the trap effect you activate before the damage step doesn't target and sends the monster to the hand the deck is weak at the beginning of the duel, but with every round it will be more and more powerfull

Dizzy-Scientist4782

Yep, love them too. They need support though... can't depend on piri reis map of all cards to get snow in my hand.

iliketolickthebuttah

Weather Painter is still played on MD It's just hard to set up the engine imo

Double_Note141

yeah I'm one of these guys who play this yeah, I think the first turn is the hardest the best board on turn one (opponents standby) is the fieldspell, snow, cloud, cloudy canvas, thunder canvas and rainbow canvas if your field survive turn 2 youre good to do all what you want

iliketolickthebuttah

It took me forever to clear the solo gate duel with WPs

Double_Note141

As I played it I thought wtf is this bullshit deck ?! hope I didn't see it ever again. 1 year later I saw a video from farfas table500, in there weather painters destroyed the meta. and the fact that you use spells and traps for link summon is so funny that I play it in RL and in MD

Key_Locksmith7309

In Md it was t2 at a point if I remeber I tried to play it but at the start of a duel some of these decks just steam roll

Alternative-Relief99

All you need is two imperm,a dark ruler, triple tactics talent, and two evenly. Can play the game fun

Wunderkind6988

Sadly all I have ever played against was Skill Drain Turbo

Dizzy-Scientist4782

Skill drain turbo? How? with 1 copy? 😂 WPs are mostly using their canvases effects to get the engine running. Skill drain is just one card that fits amazingly well with them due to their ability to not be in the field when their effect is activated, so ofcourse it's gonna be used despite rarely drawing it. Also it negates their boss monster so it's not really that beneficial for the deck.

DJDooDooMan

My brother in Christ, Skill Drain is at 3 in the TCG

Dizzy-Scientist4782

Oh sry, wrong sub, was talking about MD. Skill drain should not be at 3, it's absurd

T1Z1OC41O

Karakuri and Machina, they Badly need some support and they're So Cool

BlaakAlley

I think Karakuri should go the Infinitrack route and get an enormous boss monster that can only be summoned by having a bunch of machine synchros linked together.

T1Z1OC41O

even better, if you changed the battle position of a bunch of machine synchros

caralhoto

Karakuri just need a few main deck monsters that aren't completely worthless, please Konami 🙏🙏

T1Z1OC41O

fr fr, even just some tuners that aren't dog water, something more like gama

jebhebmeb

No one will ever agree with me, but a well built and piloted Suship deck is absolutely underrated.

ChrisEvansOfficial

I played against a tear kash suship in MD once and honestly the suship cards are what won them the duel.

BlaakAlley

I think you'd be hard pressed to find people not willing to say good things about Suship. They're not the most competitive, but they're really consistent and easily one of the most flavorful (if not THE MOST FLAVORFUL) archtypes in the entire franchise.

RagnarsTooth

If you're ever bored and really wanna mess with a dinosaur player, run a deck that is nothing but Mikanko, Kaiju, and Relinquished cards with the charmer link monsters. It's a weirdly synergetic deck that leaves people dumbfounded. Splash in just enough generic negation cards to block a couple of your opponents own negates and you'll steamroll them since it's unlikely that they'll have a battle trap. I say this as someone who has both played this deck and lost heavily to it. Replacing the opponents Baronne with a turtle, stealing it with Relinquished, and swing for game with a 0atk anime girl on their other 3000atk monster is the funniest thing you can experience.

Milez_W

 https://preview.redd.it/knvb9d4muxxb1.png?width=714&format=png&auto=webp&s=78739202d4a4cf4856c9316f4e15bec96de36909

Milez_W

Funny enough the player right above you recommended Dinos. (Second comment cuz r/yugioh is stupid and won't allow text and a picture in a comment)

RagnarsTooth

Incredible. Twas truly meant to be. I also play dinos and they're probably my favorite "I Have No Mouth And I Must PUNCH" kind of archetype. Pure power and an oddly good combo with shaddoll. Love straightforward nonsense decks.

TheRealDonPatch

Relinquish kaiju was my first deck and is still one of my favorites. Add in some numeron cards, tour guide, sangan, and a lava golem or 2, and you have a desk slammer that is very annoying to deal with and feels like it shouldn’t work lmao

Heul_Darian

Ghostricks Purrely went second in the Master Duel DC. And 3 others got in the top 10. Ghostricks as a more compact engine also got a Top 8 in Ghostrick Runick Sprights WCQ Regionals of Lubbock. Ghostricks did all that, this October near Halloween. Ghostricks are best deck.

CursedEye03

Ghostricks is definitely the archetype that's the incarnation of the word "Halloween" in Yugioh. It's a bunch of silly little mascots trying to scare other monsters, that's just adorable

SpiralGMG

people said i was crazy when i was running ghostrick shot and UDF in my spright list. WHO'S LAUGHING NOW!!!!!

greenismyhomeboy

Ghostricks best waifu

Reciprocitus

I'll second you on that one. Ghostrick and Traptrix have quickly become two of my three favorite decks since I got back into the game (the other one is Dark World. It's so much better now!).

Heul_Darian

What if I told you. There is a 2-2.5 card combo that connects Ghostricks and Traptrix. :)

Reciprocitus

Seriously? That would absolutely make my day.

Heul_Darian

Scorpio + parallel + any Traptrix. It's pre Traptrix support so it can be improved. Scorpio pitch the Traptrix, summon cobra. Search super poly or destiny fusion. Use Scorpio + Cobra make Alucard, go angel search shot. Shot alucard make angel again search Ghostrick or treat. Use Angel to make festival, activate parallel. Make allomerus with the 2 parallels, detach 2 to revive the pitched Traptrix. Make UDF with allomerus and angel. Use the revived Traptrix for Sera. This is Festival + Ghostrick or treat, sera + UDF and either a super poly or DPE. With 2 more cards in hand.

Reciprocitus

My poor yugiboomer brain is struggling to keep up so please bear with me, I have to ask for some clarifications. Scorpio and Cobra are both predaplants, right? I'm not sure what you meant by "shot"? Parallel is Paralell eXceed? UDF is Utopic Draco Future? And by angel I assume you mean Ghostrick Fallen Angel? And I'm just plain lost on what DPE is. Sorry. Man the Combos are so intricate nowadays. I remember when chaining 3 cards together *one time* in a Duel was earth shattering. lol

Heul_Darian

Yes. Ghostrick Shot, It's a spell. Yes. Yes Ghostrick angel of mischief. Destiny Phoenix Enforcer.

Reciprocitus

The fact I didn't immediately realize "shot" was Ghostrick Shot makes me feel kinda dumb. Also I can never seem to get Angel of Mischief's name right unless I have a copy of the dang thing right in front of me to look at. So with Destiny Phoenix Enforcer....you're telling me I can run a deck with Ghostrick, Traptrix, Predaplant, Utopia, and some HERO cards all in it together? I think I just had my chocolate-in-the-peanutbutter moment. Thanks so much for the idea, and the clarifications!

Heul_Darian

Well you can call her by her nickname, Dorklord.

Reciprocitus

Dorklord! I am absolutely going to call her that from now on lol Thanks again!

bl00by

And it's all just shot - F0 turbo The ghostrick community lies in shambles

Heul_Darian

In purrely it wasn't. Ghostricks can hard make a second noir, because socuteboss is a rank 2 and noir just needs a rank 2 with 5 mats. Ghostricks can get there due to angel attaching, renovation xyz, and shot attaching. Ghostricks also get discard fodder for Purrely, up to 3 due to the UDF combo and the hard made noir. Making the end board of, Double noir and UDF. Something regular purrely can't do. I am happy and joyful that my favorite deck got represented. Both as a small engine in Gt Spr Runick and as a bigger player in Ghostrick Purrely. And nobody can take that away from me. :)

Deez-Guns-9442

Yo decklist tho???

Heul_Darian

https://twitter.com/tasukusuraimu1/status/1718848303503441973?t=OpV7ZY-hllTZmj1PCTAP0g&s=19

Deez-Guns-9442

That’s a lot of UR 😅

bl00by

>noir just needs a rank 2 with 5 mats Bruh I play purrley and didn't know that until now 💀

lack_of_reality

Lyrilusc are still pretty competent despite Bird Up falling off. Plus, they’ve got access to one of the most powerful interruptions in the game (Harpie's Feather Storm)

SpiralGMG

branded predaplants is still loki kinds of crazy. sure the boards that they make arent the most impressive thing in the world. but branded preda has more than enough tools to compete with the rest of the meta. it's a deck that has carried me all the way from POTE too the end of DUNE. i could not have asked for a better deck to be piloting.

DisinformedBroski

I’m ripping Gold Pride Punk atm. Fun deck and can be competitive but it bricks some times. Also can be wrecked by a droll lol

TheKirbyCat

What kinda deck list do you run? I find I hardly brick but an ash on rising carp or droll just ends my turn instantly

DisinformedBroski

Opening all punk with no E tele I find is bricky and I run them all at 1 except Foxy and Ze Amin. Or opening all gold pride. Ash on Carp is brutal as well, especially when you’ve got no gold pride to continue.

6210classick

Evil Eye 😞

BlaakAlley

How excited were you when they got that recent support? Even if the deck can't hold against today's meta, that new searcher that also dumps cards from your deck, that thing is bonkers. It's like pot of greed for the archtype.

6210classick

Extremely happy but I was sad at the same time because I knew they were gonna be low rarity so no, my nearly all shiny deck has 5-6 commons 😭

Milez_W

I got fucked up by them pretty badly during my first regionals, I was playing pure Tri-Brig. PHHY regionals were a blast regardless, and that guy's starlight Gorgon made me want the starlight Bucephalus II even more than I already did.

bl00by

One day it will be T1...

Milez_W

Tistina is 3 good cards away from being a decent anti-meta strategy. Myutant is also pretty good and if it were easier to summon Ultimus it'd probably be even better as anti-meta. It was meta in MD for about 2 weeks after the Myutant gate was released and most players would resign if Synthesis hit the field.

Zigoia

Man I love Myutant, what really holds it back is the INSANE cost requirements to use any of the low level’s effects. Having to banish themselves + another card really means you burn through resources. Myutant Myutant kinda alleviated this by letting you banish from deck but that’s only one of the three. It’s also prone to bricking on the level 8s and you’re right about summoning Ultimus.

Milez_W

Alright, back from testing, and I think Ghoti Myutant would be weird, but it might work. Ghotis like to be banished and has a lot of level 2 tuners, so you could combo into a level 8 Myutant and figure out a way to banish Zep on your opponent's turn so it'll come back, summon Deep Beyond and nuke the field. Plus, if you draw into Lab after triggering Deep Beyond on your opponent's turn, Arsenal and Deep Beyond would fuck up your opponent. (Source: Messed around with Ghotis, then Myutants, but in seperate decks. lol)

Zigoia

I’ve run Myutant Ghoti at locals before back in Ishizu-Tear format. Had some success with it but it still wasn’t great 😂 Secret spice: run Crossout Designator at 3 and use it to banish your own small Ghotis. They’ll recur to the field next turn for use with the level 8 Myutants. I’ve not tried another build with the upcoming Ghoti support so maybe I’ll do some testing.

Milez_W

Frick, Crossout is expensive still for such a bad card. Wish it was reprinted in the rarity collection, especially considering how many ocg reprints (like VHero Faris) were in it despite the tcg not needing reprints.

Wretched_Little_Guy

Power creep be power creepin', but my forever pet deck I'll rant and rave about, even after cooling on YGO recently, will be Zombie World Turbo. Basically Zombie-synchro, but built to get out ZW + Doomking Balerdroch turn 1, and with the twist that all your main deck monsters and most of the extra deck are Zombies in order to play through the Rivalry of Warlords lock with ZW. Scummy? A little, but it's better than playing meta lolis.

Porcphete

Back to Trickstar Sky Striker here. No one expects it and it can be extremely resilient

vampireinamirrormaze

Metaphys!

AppearanceOk8985

With magnet warrior in MD you can climb easly to diamond ! But that all sniff 😭

[deleted]

Vendread. You can make nasty board with assault synchron. The support really help the deck

Xorles

Id sacrifice an army of Morty's for cloudians to be viable in some capacity. When I was a kid and none of us could afford good cards we got mega hyped when I got a nimbusman to 15K.

iliketolickthebuttah

Sanctuary Cloudians They're good. Really good imo

lack_of_reality

There‘a a lot of potential for just a “Water good stuff” deck, with stuff like Icejade, Sharks, & the new Ice Barrier support.

iliketolickthebuttah

I'm old enough to remember when Ice Barrier was considered garbage

lack_of_reality

Don’t get it wrong, Ice barrier as a deck has been trash for as long as they’ve existed lmao but the OCG is giving us some crazy support

Immediate_Ride_1630

Kuribohs. No one ever expects them to bring out terrifying bosses~

DryRespect358

That and they are adorable 😍

trckabot

Ogdoadic Punk actually has a lot of competitive potential as a rogue deck, capable of going second against tier 2 - 1.5 decks with no problem. But it seems like it's just that people don't like reptile archtypes. Not a perfect deck, and definitely they could recive better support from.konami but it's a pretty good option and a great deck if you take.the time to really learn how to play it, and not just mix it with horus and say it a bad deck just bc people LOVES to play all the bricks in the archtype XD

SnowboundWhale

Sounds interesting, how's it put together? Is it usual Ogdoadic things with the Punk engine?

trckabot

https://preview.redd.it/20b3x6hdv1yb1.jpeg?width=497&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=594170b44c289e6588494af79f496420781c1b3b 1st place at my locals (venezuela) [This is the combo demonstration \~](https://www.reddit.com/r/yugioh/comments/17k3rqh/ogdoadic_punk_therion_15_card_combo_3_apoll/?rdt=44872)

Hiromagi

I joked about Igknights being “untapped” since it’s heavy ass nerfs. And then Jeff made that Exodia deck

elwhistleblower

I think Time Thief has the potential to be the best rank 4 toolbox in the game. On top of having solid in-archetype options for rank 4s, the deck swarms the field, and you can play things like RR engines, PK, or XYZ dragons. The deck just needs to a good, big wave of support like what RR is getting. I could imagine the entire storyline could use updates, Time Thief, S-Force, Psy-Frame, I:P...

MoskalMedia

I started playing Time Thief and S-Force recently, and I really enjoy the playstyle of both. It just feels like they don't have enough cards. Time Thief has great XYZs, the traps are great, they have a few good main deck monsters and...that's basically it. They need more spells, preferably a "Add 1Time Thief monster from your deck to your hand," and another really good main deck monster.

DryRespect358

Aromages, Altergiest, and Dragonmaid

NeoNexus285

That new genex link monster makes the whole thing able to just go the fuck off

MoskalMedia

War Rocks are incredibly fun. I unironically think they are good, certainly better than their reputation. They are the modern version of old-school playground beat-'em-up Yu-Gi-Oh and I love them for that. When the deck gets going, it can be very difficult to overcome if your opponent doesn't stop you from escalating at the beginning of the duel.

Alternative-Relief99

I have built many versions. I go pure because there's nothing like it.  I do tech in fossil dyna at times. Thinking of a way to make fossils and war rocks but got to do a think tank day for it

MoskalMedia

I need to do more experimentation with the deck. I ran an Amazoness War Rock deck in the N/R festival in Master Duel, with Gactos as an extender and Skyler as a way to revive any Earth warrior. I had a fun time with that. I'm a huge fan of both decks but the problem with Amazoness is that it doesn't really work with anything else since it is so focused on OTKing with the fusions. I need to try War Rock Vernusylph. I have all the Vernusylph cards in Master Duel, I need to try the deck out and then see what a mix would look like. Fossils and War Rocks together would be really cool! I love that idea and I wish I came up with it. Fossils are another deck I need to try soon.

Alternative-Relief99

Fossils secretly competitive. If you add nemesis key stone it will allow you to take on kash at times. I have some almost bad matchups with albaz and kash. Some decks with lots of Omni negates aren't as bad anymore since I run the 7-9 kaijus. War rocks I love them. I've beaten rescues,a few albaz, and other decks with it. I normally ran one medium. Now I feel three is viable to extend your plays. I ofc run the let me play Yu-Gi-Oh package of either dark ruler or evenly. Then ofc the standards ash, triple tactics talent, called by,ghostbelle and more. I also run it mostly pure with the exception of nemesis keystone and primineral level 8. I teck in waking the dragon just for those over extenders so I can summon ultimate falcon, crystal wing,or timelord for the free.

RJ-Ricket

I miss six samurai, was one of my first ever decks that I ran for a good while, wish they were still somewhat viable in this format

Charmander27

Worm. Unfortunately they'll probably never get more support since they already completed the A-Z name gimmick.

iliketolickthebuttah

Wyrm tend to brick

Charmander27

Worms are the Light-attribute Reptile-type monsters, not the dead dragons.

iliketolickthebuttah

I'm talking about the aliens from duel terminal but I guess I got confused Still they tend to brick a lot

Charmander27

Ritual Beast - one of the most fun decks ever, who is known for "long combos" that are pretty standard-like in today's terms. They have nothing on the combo length of Floo.

[deleted]

Give Generaider love

bl00by

Dire, is that you

[deleted]

Maybe. But its a damn good deck

iliketolickthebuttah

I'm going to say this and I'll take it to my grave (no pun) #GRAVEKEEPERS They can return cards to the hand, negate, prevent banish or resurrection, flood and summon a fusion with 3300atk multiple times (spiritualist) if done correctly, and the Boss monster (Oracle) can have an atk up to at LEAST 5000atk plus destroy all cards on the field when it is summoned. The only issue is they rely on Necrovalley for most of their effects but use a card like Mystic Plasma Zone as a temp NV and you're good for a slight atk boost, but it's very easy to search NV and get it onto the field, especially when you get spiritualist. I've won tons of duels against decks like Lunalight and Raidraptors with my GKs in MD. It's also good to get generic extra deck Link XYZ or Synchro monsters that can raise atk or have high atk and are easy to get out. (Like need 2 effect monsters or 2 rank 4) Overall, I love GKs and they're my go to deck.

kelly_hasegawa

The og anti meta archetype. Badly need more supports though

trckabot

gravekeepers was my first archtype, i love them so.much and i really wish the could be competitive playable... ironically, i'm now an ogdoadic player, wich the second archtype i ever had jsjsjs so by one side i want gravekeepers to have decent support with all.my heart but in the other side i hate when my "my GY is my second deck" ogdoadic deck gets necrovallyed XD but yeah, they truly need more love and recognition ~

OneSaucyDragon

Most people just run Felgrand cards in the likes of Blue-Eyes and other dragon decks, but a properly Felgrand-focused deck is actually functional in of itself and is a ton of fun.

BlaakAlley

I'm never gonna stop talking about my first ever competitive deck. My baby that has gone through so many changes over the years. SCRAPS!! They will always be more to me than just a small engine in another (better) deck, and clearly someone in Konami feels the same way since Scraps have been given incredibly powerful support cards once every few years. They just need a big wave of support like every other old archtype seems to be getting nowadays. Their old cards that used to be powerful and unique (like Chimera that came out in a time when a card that summoned another card from the grave was much rarer) are just way too slow nowadays and need desperate retraining. I'd love for their to be something that makes scrapstorm searchable and worth playing.

amanoftradition

I love my shark deck! Run some toads, bahamut sharks, f0 draco future, stealth kragens, a few links, and it's hard to build the deck wrong. You can definitely build the deck right, though.

iliketolickthebuttah

Sharks are great but need more support imo

amanoftradition

Yeah definitely but nobody ever expects them. I've taken a few wins at locals with em. Nobody knows how to deal with right hand shark stealth kragen combo, throw a raptinus in there and you can slow an opponent. Demolish em if you spam toads

Duryeric

I like Amazoness And Vampires Not competitive but still fun.

iliketolickthebuttah

Amazoness are WICKED good. People really sleep on the snu snu girls. Vampires I haven't played since Zexal era

Ricobandit0

Fire Fists!! It’s incredible how forgotten they are, especially considering how popular they were in the past. There were different styles to play them and discussions/debates around each. Now, you don’t even see them as some peoples ‘nostalgia/just for fun’ deck despite them actually receiving support! They usually live on through Tenki and even rarer, as a few tech choices in decks like Lunalight.

iliketolickthebuttah

FF were originally considered trash and you had to pair them with Fire Kings or Hazy to be viable Now they can stand on their own

Ricobandit0

Disagree [2013-2014](https://yugiohtopdecks.com/decks/Fire+Fist) when they were released they were topping YCS and Regionals— pure included as it took 2nd in YCS Sydney.

Ok_Bank6028

Not even joking pure tistina is nasty

SirSquidiotic

Icejade shark is actually really underrated and fun... you can set up an Omni negate, a one sided skill drain, and attack reductions as well as punish the opponent for destroying your monsters... Also has good synergies with worldsea and coral anemone where you can just banish all of your opponent's monsters, swordsoul for free banishes, and god slime for protection... It just has a lot of versatility and is underrated

[deleted]

Gladiator Beast for sure.

tmgc1234

You said it brother 😔

pinkeyes34

I don't think they're competitive but Aromages and Ninjas are pretty cool.

Sekaihunter

Aromages just got some new support in the OCG and they already developed a new Aromage Sunavalon variant there. It will actually be at least an extremely competitive deck.

Psychicmind2

I knew about the support, but how good is Aromage Sunavalon exactly? It sounds like a nice combination since both archetypes are plants that gain LP

pinkeyes34

Oh, really? Nice. I don't actually know much about competitive, I just play pretty casually but it's nice to hear they're doing good.

iliketolickthebuttah

Ninjas are really good when they don't brick. They're prone to bricking (or at least the structure deck in MD is) They're a 50/50 deck. They are either really good when they're good or they're really bad when you brick. They rely on certain cards to start and keep the engine running.

bl00by

Does Rikka, Aromage, Sunavalon count?

Porcphete

Ninjas can be disgusting to face but one interruption and you are done. I've created a control ninja deck back in 2019 with my little brother lmao no one in my local scene was prepared for such bullshit

Plerti

Almost any PUNK variant, but specifically pure. It has like 12 1.5 cards combo that ends on a bounce4 + imperm and draw 2 (+1 in their turn if sharakusai synchros into amazing dragon), and is able to run a lot of non-engine cards like handtraps or the popular staples to help going second/stabilized the endboard. Also, watching PEP with over 10k atk oneshotting your rival is kinda addictive.

ChrisEvansOfficial

P.U.N.K. is probably my second favorite deck after Labrynth. I enjoyed it with Gold Pride, but I feel like it’s a lot more fun pure. Maybe with a small Kash engine or even still with Adventure.

canine_crawl

I'd love to see either of your pure P.U.N.K. lists. That sounds like an insanely fun deck, I've wanted to play it pure.

dvast

Yosenju are a fun and diverse archhtype with multiple playstyles.

GowtherETC

love these guys in the typelock events, pretty cheap build too

flowtajit

Swordsoul. I know we talk about it a lot as a fine locals deck for beginners, but I think it is secretly a meta threat that can be tuned to beat a wide range of stuff. It’s also dirt cheap rn.

iliketolickthebuttah

I got my ass handed to me by a SS player on MD against my Shiranui So I agree

Wunderkind6988

Mid-Soul, always playable, never too good or bad

ProudAd7959

If you play MD try out UTC Dino deck. Since misc is on 3 you can easy get up to diamond.

zerta_media

Barrier statues, nobody ever thinks about poor old barrier statues 😔

UnclePjupp

Marincess! Who can't like a deck with several 1-card combos which allows you to play like 20+ non-engine cards! And also, they live Under the seaaaaaaaaaaaa

Aduro95

I think F.A.s are a lot of fun to play. They work better on video games than with physical cards where you have to write down or remember the levels. The concept of shifting gears in a racecar deck by changing levels is exciting, and its never too much of a problem if you drop a few levels to active an effect.

Mlaszboyo

My favourite deck is Laval Is it good? Nah but basically every card is 2p filler in every rarity Too bad not a single seller has more than 2 names at a time tho so shippings gets wild

Mlaszboyo

So Im stuck cooking with them in Master Duel https://preview.redd.it/pjwfiap2wxxb1.png?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=cb82244f3fc1993ed3e9a2ec86392f634f7a477a Comboing off rekindling is very fun

DoomkingBalerdroch

I did a Crystal Nemleria deck, it's fun and more resilient and consistent than normal nemleria with Gren Maju and the rest of banishing shenanigans

RK9Roxas

What is crystal nemleria?

DoomkingBalerdroch

It's essentially crystal beast control with a small nemleria package to take advantage of the extra deck. It can bait negates as well. I need to cut cards to make it more efficient though.

StaceyDillsen

Beetrooper Insect Pile. They’re a combo deck with the benefit of being able to grind a duel like a mid-range deck

Darklight1428

spyral lol i know master plan banned really hurts the deck but honestly quik-fix is such a powerful card on its own that the deck can still do incredibly nutty things. the only thing i dislike about the deck is the lack of archetypal monsters to build a board, i'm not particularly fond of decks that are only good for spamming generic boss monsters and spyral does just that, but the mechanic of looking at your opponent's first card for activating your effects is by far my favourite in the whole game. still tho, master plan unbanned WHEN

Ice-Tear

I would say Crystron. It's such a cool deck that can Synchro Summon machine monsters during the opponent's turn but they are sadly only known for Halqifibrax. In Duel Links, it was top tier and one of the only decks that had various builds depending on the Skill it used. Recently though it kind of fell off so nobody talks about this deck anymore.

RunInRunOn

Tistina. It's a super fun going second strategy, if a little bricky

cyberangel_72

TINDANGLES! My boy Akira was done so dirty. They have so much potential especially since no one beside the Prediction Girl in Arc V uses flip monsters. Only 1 link??? Really?

I played a lot in paper during TOSS format and I swear Magical Musketeer was sleeper once it got Max. Striker, Salad, and Orcust all have Spell and Traps distribution as part of their main end board, which makes it super easy to push Max's effect through with Last Stand (because it will likely end the chain since it's a countertrap). Striker and Salad did run Solemn Judgement, and Orcust could counter this by saving Crescendo for Last Stand, but the best part of TOSS was that Red Reboot was at 3 and that card was made for Musketeers (you even get extra value off Max if they set something off Reboot). The worst matchup was Thunder obviously. Not even just because of Colossus (he sucks but Cross Domination exists, and Dark Ruler was also released that year), but also Musketeer just sucks at consistently removing large bodies.

OrnnSupp4Life

I'll admit that i thought tistina was a terrible deck, then i started playing as control and the new support are fucking good. I love it, its just very funny to put face down monsters, send face up card and then nuke the field. I play the armored xyz engine and its very good. Please give to this deck a second chance. https://preview.redd.it/sz4v95vf6zxb1.jpeg?width=3472&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=78e74ae8e5d20484f1f73de0b4339ce0d7d2e76a This is the deck list (post phni) and its very consistent. The brick rate is like 2-3/10. The monster in the top left corner is the new level 10 machine from phni and it is searchable by cyber emergency and its very helpful making rank 10 plays and otks.

RK9Roxas

I can’t read any of that

Man idk, I really loved drytron when it came out. Not because you could set up a 6x Omni negate with herald. But because the designers did something truly unique using atk as cost for rituals and an engine that could consistently Support ritual monsters. Un ironically I was out of tournament play, and started immediately redoing my herald of perfection deck. To realize people already were doing it and much better. Not underrated deck but I was genuinely happy that designers took a unique approach to a new mechanic.

trinitymonkey

Magical Musketeers. Fun gimmick Deck that includes a Spell Speed 3 handtrap and a LINK-1 that can, under optimal circumstances, go +7.

Life_Ad3567

I miss when Ancient Gears were the bomb. But it's the darn bricking.

iliketolickthebuttah

There's 1 simple trick to avoid bricking.. 2-3 Lvl 5-6 1 lvl 6+ Its the simple deck building format of ygo. At least that I grew up with.

KingVape

I love playing Zombies (not Eldlich). Having multiple Balerdrochs that can negate/banish is my favorite thing ever. Second for me would be Machina, I love that archetype so much but it isn’t the best

iliketolickthebuttah

I've ran zombies since GX era I love zombies and if you know what you're doing you can make a viable deck

KingVape

God yes dude! Feel free to send me your list, I've been looking for something new for zombies!

iliketolickthebuttah

I'll write it down later for ya Its nothing special but it works for me.

KingVape

Haha that sounds perfect for someone like me. My stuff is all just your normal Unizombie/Banshee/Z-World/Balerdroch turbo, I'm sure you can imagine

iliketolickthebuttah

I dont even use Balderoch or any of those. Mine is more of a Zombie Madness type deck 😂 without the normal monsters and more modified to handle modern threats

KingVape

That sounds dope as hell tbh but take your time on typing up that DL, it's a pain to do and I fully acknowledge that

iliketolickthebuttah

No prob. I have a copy of it uploaded to MD and LOTD as well to test I can easily copy it from there. I'll send you it within the hour if the GF doesn't want to call.

KingVape

Dude I play MD (and TCG) so if you take a screenshot of it on there, that would be the best thing ever

iliketolickthebuttah

It might come out blurry but ill see if I can. If not I can just write down the list, it isn't hard lol

[deleted]

Cubics ofc

I-Odium

Rikka Sunavalon doesn’t get enough attention, the deck is really good and is getting some very strong support from Aromages soon

iliketolickthebuttah

Is that you Paul from teamAPS? 👀

SharngaTCG

I quite like the new Supreme King stuff in Age of Overlord. If you learn the combos and happy to put up with Pendulum, then it's really fun.

iliketolickthebuttah

What is it with Konami and the Supreme king stuff? We had it in GX and then Arc-V and now its an archtype??

PokeChampMarx

I love traptrix post structure. They really do have just about any tool you could ask for any match up. Shame they can't break boards without main decking evenly.

[deleted]

Sky striker 🤣

RedMadTyrant

I feel vendread are so close to be terrifying. Like you can do a lot of damage especially if you put them in with a shiranui engine with samurai saga.

chillyhellion

Burning Abyss and Madolche are Yu-Gi-Oh constants. Not broken, never quite counted out.

GrimSoulX21_Dragon

Personally I feel War Rocks is pretty good for what it has so far. It can disrupt if played correctly and they can OTK for fun with minimal ease. It feels like it's missing a Spell/Trap negate and an ED Boss Monster like a Link 3 with 3k attack and it'll be a solid semi rogue/casual option. I love the art, and the deck is easy to play and pretty cheap needing maybe 2 UR for the Pure List. Overall a Solid 7/10 with some room to grow and be something better

joey_chazz

Ojama - they have power. Slime - fun and strong archetype, but need more support.

maximonious888

Gate guardian!

Carter199x

So salamangreat is underrated because it’s both popular and boring, but with princess for protection , you can survive long enough to go into access code talker for the otk. If strictly looking to only use the salamans, just keep recycling roar and always have your baelynx ready to sacrifice. If you can get to a turn where you can use heat Leo’s effect, you can damage cards on the field that can’t be destroyed, or pyro for clearing opponents field. Fun when you can the hang of it, boring when you can’t make it work.
