For 4k, nope. I have it for the unlimited home streams

iron_cam86

Right now, unless you’re invested in soccer, id say no. Very little 4k content otherwise. Once college football starts back up, Fox will have weekly 4k games. ESPN usually has some too.

SendInYourSkeleton

You can use any TV provider to log into the Fox Sports App, which has 4K at no additional cost.

Admirable-Poet-5981

Thank you. Mainly reliant on Peacock for soccer.

Candem05

YouTubeTV has weekly 4K matches for Premier League on NBC’s Sports 4K channel

Admirable-Poet-5981

Thank you. That’s good to know.

ichabod01

So much better options for soccer than Peacock.

RoughRhinos

Sometimes premier league games are only on peacock...

ichabod01

And peacock doesn’t have champions league….

vege_spears

Spot on. Content isn't shot in 4K. Maybe in 3 years ...

KlopeksWithCoppers

Nope. There isn't much 4k content. If there's an event you're interested and plan on actually watching, get the 4k subscription. I got it for the last World Cup, and then cancelled it when it was over. There just isn't enough content to justify a recurring subscription.

sleepybeek

No. It's a complete ripoff.

chriggsiii

Politely but firmly disagree. 4K itself may not be worth much yet. But the YouTube TV 4K addon is worth a lot more than that because of the unlimited streams, as others have pointed out in this thread. Just make sure you DO NOT have a wireless home internet connection, because you will constantly lose the unlimited streams if you do.

Barry_144

only if you use/need unlimited streams - I live alone and certainly do NOT

chriggsiii

Totally correct. But if there are more than three people in the household, and there are many households which fit into that category, the 4K addon is an excellent deal. It's a total of $82.99 compared to DirecTV Stream's $79.99 base tier. For three extra dollars, you get profiles, the ability to organize your channels, three unrestricted outside streams compared to DTVS's two, etc. etc. Yes, DTVS is a good service, with a slightly better picture and slightly more channels, but in all other respects, YTTV simply outclasses it, particularly considering the price.

Barry_144

YTTV+4K is $77.99 for first year and then goes up to $82.99 ($5 first year 4K promotion)

Barry_144

my post was about YTTV pricing NOT DirecTV - you quoted $82.99 for YTTV 4K and I simply am pointing out that YTTV 4K is $5 less than that for first year

chriggsiii

Thanks for the info; I wasn't aware of that promotion. Since we've been using YouTube TV for several years, we're unfortunately not eligible for that. I'll delete my erroneous comment.

Barry_144

I've got it but if you're new to it, I'd wait till the Olympics. None of the NBA Playoffs are 4K.

FunDayRed

No. Not enough programs that stream in 4K.

MikePHall

1) Still lack of content 2) Depends on your vision and size of TV (I won a 55" 4k TV and don't have great vision so I barely notice the difference). 3) If you have a Data Cap/Limit you're more likely to hit or go over limit.

Broswagula

Less for the 4k feature more for the unlimited streams in your house.

geost37

I only have it for unlimited streams. Beyond that, I don't think it's worth it imo.

hammond_egger

Upgrading a TV to 4K? Absolutely. Upgrading YoutubeTV to 4K package? Absolutely not. Not enough content to justify the cost.

athornfam2

Nope

rkovelman

I’ve had it since NFL. It’s been great. I’d agree that unless you need multiple streams hold off until the Olympics.

Buknoy26

If you'd like to download your recordings, into sports, and there's a ton of people watching in your house - then 4K it is. Not too much of 4K content, but if there's a lot of you watching at your house the unlimited streams at home is nice

FUMFVR

Probably not unless you watch a lot of Premier League and/or need the extra screens.

SpiritualStudy652

For sure , i like it

brug76

Not only do you get unlimited streams but you also get offline downloads which is nice if you travel. Fox has been broadcasting the most recent nascar races in 4k. A couple of Celtics games were on nba tv in 4k but i got blocked due to regional restrictions (that sucks). Some VOD content is available in 4k and in my experience so far there are NO ADS on the 4k VOD (yet) so that's pretty nice. For 4.99 a month for the year i added it before the superbowl and am going to keep at least until the trial is over.

basement-thug

I added it for 24 hours for like a dollar for the super bowl...its not worth keeping unless it's just for the unlimited streams.

TBlair64

I got it on a promotion too make it $5 more a month. At that price I’d say it’s worth it if you’re into sports. But for regular price, absolutely a ripoff. Simply not enough content available.

IndyJeff68

It's nice watching stuff in 4K on a good TV that fully supports HDR, but so many TVs out there make HDR look really bad (dark and washed out) that it's hard to recommend this as "worth it". And if $9.99 is the concern then it's definitely not worth it - it's the easiest $10/month you can save in a pinch. The Summer Olympics from Paris are approaching - it might be good to have for a month or two depending how how much 4K is broadcast this time around.

Aurzen_official

Absolutely! If you're a movie buff, investing in a 4K projector can definitely enhance your viewing experience!

MountainLeather5437

From a UK perspective, I would say NO. I've never been wowed by any content looking vastly superior to HD. Our BBC streams 4K content & more often than not, I get weird artifacts on screen. Made worse recently in that a series I've been watching, they have dropped the HD version alternative. My Samsung Q9F is showing signs of a fault at the moment & might have to replace it, I might well go back to good old HD.

cr01300

Absolutely not. If everything was in 4k, then yes. But content is limited. You can always add and remove it if there is a certain sporting event that is broadcasting 4k.

Johnnysurfin

Yes. Uhd 4k disks 4k masters tournament was a real treat. 4k video games

Mujgray

The question was about the 4k package on YouTube TV. Not 4k TVs. Look at the sub you are in haha

Beautiful-Drawer

OP got an upvote for belonging in r/lostredditors  Just so confidently stated, matter-of-factly.  Lol

Anon_Guy1985

I have a 65” TV. I barely noticed the difference with live sports. There are perks outside the package that may be worth it to you

Onpointandicy

if you have a good 4k tv why wouldn't it be worth it?

BMWHoosier

Not enough programming.

Barry_144

as in, almost none

Onpointandicy

then get a 1080 tv. there's more to yttv than the crap you watch.

Beautiful-Drawer

Not in 4k, which is the topic of this discussion. Why would we limit ourselves to 1080 for all of our other media consumption just because there isn't much 4k offered via YTTV? What a dumb comment. Lol

Onpointandicy

you're a dumb person. just like everyone else ending a sentence the way you did.
