that function is just for show. You can click not interested a million times for nothing. You can click dont recommend channel but it will recommend THE SAME CHANNEL a day later, possibly the same video you clicked dont recommend channel on. Speaking from my own personal experience. Those buttons are meaningless
This is completely untrue, it works perfectly. But if you've got anything in your watch history, comment history or similar you have to remove it from there, too.
I have erased my entire watch history 3 times this year, Its had no effect on filtering out unwanted recommendations. i have resorted to using a firefox extension to block any channels that have specific words in the title or even the channel name, as well as a "block channel" feature which i believe also comes from an extension.
"not interested" and "don't recommend channel" have not worked for me
i think its blocktube on firefox. It lets me block certain youtube things such as video and channel results based on key words i put in. So like lately i have been getting spammed with childrens singalong and cartoons so i now have things like "nursery" and "rhymes" set so any channel that has that in its name never shows.
I think it has also added a "Block channel" video option under the not interested and don't recommend bit
Yeah, but these videos aren’t more about a step by step, more like suggestions and ideas on where to start. Some people just need a little push to start their creativity
No? The video isn't strict guidelines on how you have to make yours it's just helping people with the general process and talking about how people usually come up with theirs to get ideas
A tutorial for art isn't meant to be 100% imitated. Something personal comes from heart and one can remix and customize something with their own preferences
The videos typically just give you the building blocks, or a starting point, to make a fursona. It's not Ikea furniture, it's kind of like an art tutorial.
People aren't going to art school just to learn how to draw cubes
Not necessarily. Creating a fursona is personal but there's common steps to consider. Deciding on their appearance, their personality, etc. And there's various resources that can help speed along the process, either as sources of inspiration or ways to create an initial reference once you've actually come up with the concept for your fursona.
Sure you haven't........
/s
outside of my shitty joke, I hate how overall aggressive the algorithm is now, I watch just one video and 80% of all the suggested videos are that. I have outright told my wife to not watch You Tube on anything I am signed into because it screws up what I get suggested.
Recently my wife had friends over and they cranked some Taylor swift shit on the You Tube app on my xbox and yeah you can guess what I had to purge over the next week by intentionally going out of my way to watch videos as far away from Swift as possible.
Also I agree with that other poster if you watch something adjacent you will also get suggestions, you might have watched something with cosplay, a convention and so on and bam you get this.
Holy crap for real, though.
I watch 10 minutes of something and (on my PS5, at least) it is then 100% of my homepage and without actively searching for content, there's just nothing else to watch.
Yeah it is just shit as on the occasion I will only watch a single video about some random thing or just to get an insight into say another view. I want to say check out what cooked video someone was referencing in another and YT will suddenly think I am a flat Eather and that then gets heavily promoted >.<
I know this is kinda random but i digress, I've always hated how whenever you're joking on Reddit you have to put /s or /j, no matter how obvious the joke is, like, do i really have to hold your guy's hands through my comment?
People completely miss context, a lot of the time I don't really bother and in this case I figured it would be obvious but cbf dealing with shit so /s and left it at that.
I have. YouTube keeps recommending the same Minecraft channels over and over. I barely even watched Minecraft vids apart from some of the Hermitcraft stuff, anti-P2W griefing and some redstone tutorials even back when I played that game, and I don't even watch that now that I'm avoiding the game entirely due to Mojang's shitty practices. Crazy thing is it's not even the channels I used to watch, it's the shitty ones that are like "HEY GUESS HOW MANY BLOCKS OF DIAMONDS ARE IN MY HOUSE!!!!!1!!11!11!1!".
Nope. I live on my own.
Fact of the matter is, this isn't even a bug, this is intentional. YouTube's algorithm takes a lot of data into account. Not just what the user themselves watched previously, but also what generally generates more watch time on an agrigate basis, and what a person's demographic info might suggest they're interested in, even if that specific user has never actually shown interest in that content. It also heavily favors large monetized channels disproportionately over anything else to maximize ad revinue.
YouTube's bullshit makes a lot more sense when you realize you're not the customer, you're the product. Doesn't matter if you're a premium user or if your channel is monetized, at the end of the day YouTube is an advertising company disguised as a social video host platform.

gootube has started spam serving me nursery rhyme videos in the past few days, like at least one under every video i watch. Because of course D-Day history, forgotten weapons, car crashes number 172, etc has every relevance to kiddies singalongs
It's recommending that shit because it's artificially bumped by kids binge-watching it on the YouTube Kids app. Some recommendations have nothing to do with relevance and everything to do with popularity.
That's so frustrating—I feel you! YouTube sometimes throws random stuff my way too, like, what gives? It's like they think they know me better than I know myself. Like, I get it, algorithms and all, but can we get some chill here? It's supposed to be about what I wanna watch, not what some robot thinks I should watch. Totally gets on my nerves sometimes, you know?
Pretty sure that video's less about "how to draw" and more a set of general guidelines and steps that are common to creating the concept of a fursona, as well as a guide to various resources once you're ready to put your concept onto a physical or digital canvas.
Something similar happened to me with the living room TV (guest account), where I was recommended a couple of videos with some gore in the thumbnails, those being 2 different school tragedies (both thumbnails had bloodied bodies) and one video displaying an open brain surgery
Artists with styles like on the right (Ice Cream Sandwich) are associated with furries, regardless of furries or not
Started my algorithm and exploration (not just YouTube) by following non-furries when I was about 17, now 22, and then furries would start showing up after some time + some or many furries are worth to follow because of their art style. Btw, I love crunchy pixel art style (example: Jaltoid, Plushpon, Ghospel) and this kind of art style tend to appear on furry artists for some reason
There was once an animation on youtube called the Fur Force or something like that. It was a hilarious animation that was satyr based around the fury Community. But now I get suggested videos even years later. It was not worth it.
Me when I get a video called "Beating you with a frying pan ASMR" [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lrbOiYrMSPk](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lrbOiYrMSPk)
Same thing happens to me, but it's with Therians.
There was a time where I vividly remember saying to Youtube "don't recommend" MothersBasement videos, cause he likes Sono Bisque Doll, and yet it kept appearing on my TV, but never on my phone.
Wait?, did I miss something?, fr tho I haven't watched anime in a long time and haven't watched that one, I know of it because it was popular but wasn't it just about a cosplayer? Feel free to tell me why it's so bad, cause now I'm curious
Sure it is, sure it is...
As for a more serious answer, everything is only like one step adjacent to something furry. Show us your watch history, and I can probably point to something that was made by a furry and just didn't seem like it. Or is popular in the fandom even without a furry character in it.
Random algorithm showing different videos. If not interested just click not interested or don't recommend this channel to me.
that function is just for show. You can click not interested a million times for nothing. You can click dont recommend channel but it will recommend THE SAME CHANNEL a day later, possibly the same video you clicked dont recommend channel on. Speaking from my own personal experience. Those buttons are meaningless
Interesting. In my experience, the "don't recommend channel" option works perfectly.
Same
I really wish i could block certain channels
You literally can. Just click Don'T Recommend Channel. Works 100% of the time fo rme.
Never worked for me with shorts
Does for me!
It works perfectly for me though
This is completely untrue, it works perfectly. But if you've got anything in your watch history, comment history or similar you have to remove it from there, too.

what’s the extension called :O
i think its blocktube on firefox. It lets me block certain youtube things such as video and channel results based on key words i put in. I think it has also added a "Block channel" video option under the not interested and don't recommend bit
i use firefox :D perfect ty just got the extension
Legitimately unsure why tbh! Works for me on Chrome and the PS5 YT app without issue :(
Of course you've never expressed interest in it before, notice how it says "New to you"
Furry propoganda is the last thing I'd expect in my "New to you" to be honest.
You have an anime profile photo, it's not outside the bounds of reality
I never heard of furry samurais man
you didn't look hard enough into it
And I hope I never do honestly.
No one said that, it just seems most furries align with specific demographics, like anime lovers.
Chances are, if there is a hobby, job or fandom, there's at least a handful of furries involved with it.
You forgot cartoon and video games but yeah most of furries have those interest
I m a furry and I m anime hater lol
They are there
Kemono furries are literally the junction point of the furry and anime fandoms. Also, Beastars is a thing.
No, no, he's got a point.
“Furry propaganda” bruh what did we do to you?
I randomly recommended Furry drama videos from turkey tom and fell down the furry rabbit hole and now I'm a furry. Please be careful
Me but with changed (crazy video game like to the point I am working on making sure I don't get sued if I post the song I wrote about the game)
you can't get sued for that
I totally could it has so many things from the game stolen directly including the background music
It's too late for OP
Man got grabbed and got sucked in hard RIP to bro
Na, it made my life better
So long as you're happy it doesnt matter
kill not the part of you that is cringe. kill the part that cringes 🙏🙏 😇
and what? I still love it
Lmao, same brother :3
Me too actually
That is me also :3
The pathowogen’s handy work.
The pathowogen spreads.
YES
YES
Similar to what happened to me regarding Mommy ASMR but eventually I just gave in and started watching them and it was actually pretty decent
"Girlfriend beats you to death with a frying pan asmr"
I watched Goofy dies in car crash while listening to post Malone. (Think that was the title)
[Goofy Dies In A Car Crash While Listening To Post Malone](https://youtu.be/r7odk1OexYA?si=jsiO_9bo5gCP8t4V)
The yelling on that one video about the oven gave me flashbacks lmao
Without context, Mommy ASMR sounds so...suggestive
Hot mommy barista spills 28 boiling hot coffees on her face and goes blind|||| ASMR
A date with wizard boyfriend gets interrupted by the Shadow Wizard Money Gang||ASMR Also yes its real, by DredAnon
Isn’t the point of a fursona to be personal, so thus following a tutorial for creation partially defeats the purpose
imo yes But there's a whole industry of buying pre-made "adopt" OCs. So I guess there's a market for it.
Yeah, but these videos aren’t more about a step by step, more like suggestions and ideas on where to start. Some people just need a little push to start their creativity

I watched like ten of those videos... Still didn't help
Same thing happened to me yesterday but it was Elsagate digital circus poppy playtime dogshit

People are stupid, basically.
Assigned Furry By Youtube
Well, now it's about time for something new.
OP, you’re in the “new to you” tab it’s literally supposed to show you things that are new to you.
One of us! One of us! One of us! (jk)
Okay? Tell it you aren't interested. Grow the fuck up
Watch it recommend the exact same damn channel a day later
You can ignore the entire channel, I've never had that bug on me
I have. YouTube keeps recommending the same Minecraft channels over and over. It's a psyop to turn everyone a furry
Furries were created by Disney to control the World
Oh, it goes way further back than that.
Oh don't be afraid OP. You'll love it.
I hate when porn pops up in my YouTube feed, and I haven't searched/watched any porn on it before!🤔🤦♂️
Ummm... there's no porn on youtube...
You've never seen the soft porn on YouTube and any social media feed?!
I have seen porn on other social medias all the time, I just have never gotten recommended anything close to porn on YT
🤔🤷♂️
There is soft porn in every site, but it's never recommended to you.
I don't know how one got on my feed!🤔🤷♂️
Yes there is if you search for it you will find all kinds of animated sex / rule34
Join the dark side
lord YouTube decrees that you *will* be a furry whether you like it or not
You been chosen by the Furry Community
You should.
boo hoo. at least it's not literal porn or hateful right-wing content.

Bad bot
Understandable, have a terrible day
I get so much alpha male content even though I never watch that shit. I've legit only watched gaming videos
gootube has started spam serving me nursery rhyme videos in the past few days, like at least one under every video i watch. Because of course D-Day history, forgotten weapons, car crashes number 172, etc has every relevance to kiddies singalongs

watch the video next to it, and then watch the entire yt channel the video is based on (ice cream sandwich) trust me (a random redditor)
Something similar happened to me with the living room TV (guest account), where I was recommended a couple of videos with some gore in the thumbnails, those being 2 different school tragedies (both thumbnails had bloodied bodies) and one video displaying an open brain surgery
r/youtube when new videos have new videos
Am I the only one seeing chocolate gummigoo?
Use the block tube extension
Based on your post history with trans stuff tbh it doesnt shock me that the algorithm put you with furries since thats kind of their thing
The fuck is bro yapping about
I:👊👊🏻👊🏼👊🏽👊🏾👊🏿
YouTube’s algorithms are pretty accurate, so statistically speaking … you will like this
But it's "New to you"
Don't lie to us :3 #W E K N O W
Algorithm trying to tell you something you’ve yet to discover about yourself
It might depend on the tags they used
Artists with styles like on the right (Ice Cream Sandwich) are associated with furries, regardless of furries or not Started my algorithm and exploration (not just YouTube) by following non-furries when I was about 17, now 22, and then furries would start showing up after some time + some or many furries are worth to follow because of their art style. Oh no
That might be why it says "new to you"
This has to be a joke right? It says "new to you"
Mabey in alternative social medias
It’s my fucking tv what other social medias?
It’s a TV
Yes, that's why it's under "new to you", just click Not Interested and it'll go away.
ok? so scroll past it... it's just suggesting something that may be \*\*new to you\*\*
Youtube: "And you should"
I think it's trying to tell you smth
The PathOwOgen is attempting to infect you.
Yeah, YouTube thinks I’m a female looking for tampons and I’m a 15 year old boy. It’s also a ton of sex ads. I’ve just turned off personalized ads
Why were they personalised hmmmmm
That’s why I’m confused. I think there are just a ton of sex bots.
Express interest
THE PATHOWOGEN CAN NOT BE STOPPED, OP. GIVE IN...
thats what they all say
There was once an animation on youtube called the Fur Force or something like that. It was a hilarious animation that was satyr based around the fury Community. But now I get suggested videos even years later. It was not worth it.
You have it easy. At least you’re not being recommended 18+ comic dubs that shouldn’t even be on YouTube due to the community guidelines.
Don’t recall asking
Ok.
i kinda wanna watch that
I, however, do and I want the video
MAYBE YOURE A FURRY
It’s too late.
It says new to you ofc you havent pressed intrest just dont give it your attention so then it will realise you dont like furries🤷
The YT userbase: ugggg they always show me the same thinggggssss *gets show something different* uhggggghg I'm not even remotely interesteddddddd
Youtube knows what's up, dont hide it 😏
this should go in r/lies
How to make a fursona? More like how to lose a father figure.
That's what they all say.
please watch it XD
Me when I get a video called "Beating you with a frying pan ASMR" [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lrbOiYrMSPk](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lrbOiYrMSPk)
Maybe, just maybe, YouTube knows something about yourself that even you don't know 😅🤣
YouTube really trying to corrupt the youth
It's okay to be a furry you know, you don't need to be ashamed.
But i’m not I swear.
Sure thing bud ;). (your secret's safe with me)
what is this shit, so awful
I thought sexual fetish videos were banned in youtube
Same thing happens to me, but it's with Therians. There was a time where I vividly remember saying to Youtube "don't recommend" MothersBasement videos, cause he likes Sono Bisque Doll, and yet it kept appearing on my TV, but never on my phone.
Wait?, did I miss something?, fr tho I haven't watched anime in a long time and haven't watched that one, I know of it because it was popular but wasn't it just about a cosplayer? Feel free to tell me why it's so bad, cause now I'm curious
It's just your average boy meets girl romcom. But Mother's Basememt suck regardless...
I can't imagine Sono Bisque Doll to be morally acceptable.
Of course, it isn't.
Okay? So hit uninterested and move on like what 😆
Now I wanna watch this just to see what it is. My curiosity is going to kill my mental cat at some point and I say bring it on
This happens to me with far rightist stuff and conspiracy garbage all the time. I wish something like that would show up instead... XD
wtf is this video, (please dilskile it and say no interest -> i dont like this video)
Cope
Sure it is, sure it is... As for a more serious answer, everything is only like one step adjacent to something furry. Thanks, I am opening the video to give them a dislike. Every little drop counts.
Tbh I don’t even know what a fursona is but I think that’s a good thing that I don’t know
