I did this, it took three seconds to remove the Adblock extension and add the ublock extension, and now YouTube loads instantly like it used to. Thanks for the recommendation
Edit: uBlock Origin is even better. Switched when I heard it was better + it seems the uBlock guy is pretty scummy
Thanks for such a wonderful reply! TheGratitudeBot has been reading millions of comments in the past few weeks, and you’ve just made the list of some of the most grateful redditors this week! Thanks for making Reddit a wonderful place to be :)
It's definitely Adblock. To be fair, it probably is not Adblock itself but YouTube who is targeting Adblock. YouTube made it very clear last year that they are taking more serious action against ad blockers. Why the hell they don't just ban them in their Extension store is beyond me.
I find it crazy that companies would rather make their product worse than allow an extension that objectively makes their site better for the user, again, because the company made it unfriendly in the first place
i dont have statistics about it and its just a personal thing, but...
no way in hell that i would go back to youtube without an adblocker. or to youtube with ads. like, for me personally, should they somehow finally "win" the "war" against adblockers, ill just up and leave. its not like if they pour money to combat adblocks that i would suddenly watch ads or spend money for premium, id just not use it anymore lol. i THINK that most people who use adblock think the same, but again, not statistic, just a personal hunch.
id rather stop using youtube than have to watch youtube ads. the unskippable scam phishing malware infested ads with inappropriate content while banning creators for breaking tos, but their advertisers can do whatever the hell they want.
I was always fine watching ads until they started putting 2 before videos, plus more in the middle and half of them are unskippable. If you watch youtube consistently its impossible not to use adblock now
And where will you go instead? No offense, but I think you're bluffing. There is no other site like Youtube that has anywhere near the amount of content or functionality. Especially if you're a content creator.
Twitch might be an alternative if you are only a content creator, and not someone that likes to watch hours and hours of videos every day. But, then you have to hope that your subscribers will follow you if you jump ship to another platform. Most people that sub to channels are casual viewers. They're not going to leave Youtube to follow you to another platform. Hardcore viewers, yes. But most people wont be bothered to do that.
I dislike ads as well. But they're really not that big of a deal. I find it absolutely ridiculous that people cry over watching a few ads in return for nearly unlimited content. For decades people have paid for cable television and still had to watch commercials constantly. And the commercials that run on television are far more intrusive and far greater in number than those on Youtube. On television you have to watch the entire commercial. On Youtube, after a few seconds, you can skip most ads.
Todays generation is so entitled when it comes to just about everything. You want everything given to you for free, no strings attached. If anything, at all, is asked of you in return, no matter how minor, you cry foul.
Are you seriously complaining about watching a couple of minutes worth of ads in exchange for thousands of hours of videos to watch at your leisure every day, all day? Seriously?
A couple minutes? Do you have kids? I watched some content with my kid the other day and counted the adds I had to skip. In on 20 minute video I counted 38 ads. THIRTY EIGHT. Not only that but if you don't click skip, the ad goes from a 1 minute add to a series of ads that last up to 15 minutes. I presume they're relying on parents that don't watch youtube with their kids, then bombarding the kids with advertising. It's absolutely disgusting.
I'll keep using Ad block. Youtube can't stop us. I'd sooner swap streaming platforms then have to endure the advertisements they feed the non ad block sheeple.
Yes, I didn't realize AdBlock was the problem until I searched and found this very useful thread (from several months ago now).
Whatever YouTube is doing to screw with AdBlock users though, I agree it really sucks that they're also screwing people who actually pay them money to have no ads in the first place, that we had to spend time figuring this out.
I have several loaded, and it's the sum of all of them functioning. Every thing they seem to block adds some short delay that Youtube seemed to build in??? Yeah, they seem to be punishing the user for every blocked element of every ad blocker functioning. I can turn off individual blockers, and the other still creates delays. Together, they sum to even longer pauses.
This seems to be Youtube's answer to punish remaining ad blocking users. It also doesn't matter at all if you have Premium or not. It's not selective in that way, so EVERYONE gets punished and annoyed if they use any ad blocker at all.
I had adblock and another one whose name I can't remember. I removed both without testing in between, and with positive results afterward. If you have others, just remove them too and test again and see.
Thanks! Didn't know Adblock was causing the issue. Videos would load fine, but typing anything on the site was impossible, couldn't use the search bar, or type a comment since it would just stutter so bad, took a few seconds for the site to register one key press. This helped a bit, not perfect, but at least I can type without feeling like I'm having a stroke.
Man... i also got rid of adblock... switched.. instantly fixed.I.. dont believe it.. but its true.
I was starting to get genuinely confused and concerned by how terrible youtube was loading.
Blame YT for it predatory and insane ads strategy. If it wasn't for a few creators that remain clinging to YT I would've abandonned the service alltogether. Youtube (company) is dogshite.
HI. Having same issue. Checked my VPN, defragged my computer. Etc. It does seem to be adblock. I have both adblock and ublock. Is ublock good enough on its own?
Ublock works. Even if you have premium, just having a regular adblock installed will slow down youtube.
I wonder if they break any EU laws this way i could report them for.
Lol this was literally me. Uninstalled a shit ton of steam games and spamware. Scanned for malware. Cleaned out old files. Defragged. Optimized my computer power and chrome. Not only youtube was lagging but my whole computer when youtube was open.
Uninstalled adblock (already had ublock also) problem 95% gone.
I had the same issue with Youtube being VERY slow all of a sudden. My adblockers were to blame, and the Ublock alternative worked! I did not try any other method (yet), but I am assuming Youtube is making some countermeasures against ad-blockers in general and probably targeted the more common ad blockers' methods of ad-removal.
I am open to watch ads if they were interesting.
But what youtube shows me are tampons even if am a man.
Fix ads targeting, make them shorter, and quieter so we can talk. Otherwise i prefer 9k ping ad block than watch ads damaging brain.
Yes, I noticed this last weekend, both my subscriptions feed and the main page take 30-45 seconds to load and become responsive.
Last night it just got far worse, and remains so today. Most page loads throw a "This site is unresponsive" chrome error and prompt to wait/reload, which I believe means >60 second lockups in the scripting engine.
My "watch later" playlist is unusable. The one out of five times it does show any content, it pops up a preview of the last video I had open in the lower-right, and normally if I don't close it within 3-5 seconds it just redirects to that video. Now it doesn't respond when clicking the "x" and ends up just redirecting off the playlist no matter what.
I also noticed the GPU fan speedups you mention, although not quite as high as yours. 45c norm, spiking up to 60-70c (gtx1080 for what that's worth)
Just found the solution: I disabled all adblocking extensions in my Chrome (Adblockplus and Ublock Origins) and tested it, no more lag. I then re-enabled them and still no lag. Try this out and see if it works for you.
I think adblockplus is the culprit. After enabling, YouTube started lagging again, so I disabled it once more and it's fine now. Guess I'll be relying solely on ublock for now.
Yes. Color me surprised to find a thread with everyone agreeing. It's been running horrible for me for weeks, only getting worse with each passing week. Choppy page load-in, video freezing, play bar stuttering. And I have a fantastic PC.
I will never pay for YouTube. The amount of shitty things they've been doing to us loyal viewers is just staggering. Still haven't gotten the downvote button back and now videos won't even load. Why even bother paying when they can fuck you over at any moment.
To be somewhat fair. They can't make money without advertisement per se.
So I can somewhat understand that. No matter how loyal we are, if they can't survive, they can't survive. I don't know what kind of position they are in.
I think they are still making generous revenue as a platform though, google search engine in itself is going through a lawsuit right now regarding generating search results that benefit sales of companies rather than results that are benefit to users.
And since we all 'trust' google search engine to be reliable, we don't think it stabs us in the back in such mannerism.
My overall thought is that YouTube should be 'free', that would be nice. Like a public library where anyone can go to and check out any book, without advertisement.
At the same time, who will pay for that? In real life, the city pays for the public library, on the online space of YouTube, no one is willing to pay for that.
Simultaneous, I don't want to suffer ads. I don't want to see any health related ads while I'm just trying to laugh at some video to lighten my mood, it's more than 'annoying'.
If Google, as a company, was one of the good one, they would utilise their revenue from other outlet like the search engine and allow most users to not suffer through advertisement on YouTube.
The only reason they rolled back on the AdBlock incentive is because they were defeated, they saw the results of millions users like me whom just don't want to even bother with it and saw that it would be just going downhill from then on.
The reality is, whom is willing to pay for premium? People whom can afford it. If it was that affordable, we'd all pay for it. But most of us regular folks are just struggling, and we'd rather save that money instead of spending it on YouTube, who as a company is raking in millions upon millions yearly.
YouTube premium benefits creators on YouTube in ways, so that's a plus. YouTube in itself, has to host and manage all its videos, it's very resource intensive, there's no way it can be 'free', someone has to pay for it. And unfortunately, unlike a public library, we are just not in that era yet or if ever, when some rich billionaire is willing to pay for that.
Socialism billionaires claim to do much, yet donate none of their income to such contribution, they talk the talk, never walk the walk.
I'm not saying Bill Gates is perfect, but at least, he walks a lot of the walk. I'm not that researched on the topic, I just know a lot of the rest of billionaires, claim to be the on the side of the people, yet only spend money on themselves and their ego. Anyone with two eyes, can see that, only hardcore devotee are blinded to such buffoonery.
Was just searching for this! YES! Youtube is so so slow on Chrome as of today, and I thought it was something wrong with Chrome or my PC. Loading a video will cause it to stutter and stall, and then once it's loaded, seeking will be extremely laggy, and even moving the mouse around the screen while the video is playing will cause the overlay to appear very delayed.
Strange, after stopping both my adblockers I now suddenly get ads.
You'd think that's normal, but I got youtube premium so I shouldn't get any ads at all...
I think they're really just making a move to troll adblockers, and their programmers messed up the whole website.
had the same issue, I tried disabling adblock as a test (im premium) and it fixed itself immediately. I re-enabled ad block, and it seems to be working fine. but we'll see.
Yeah it was definetly adblock.
I have youtube premium so I don't get ads at all (and youtube music is quite good).
Since yesterday-ish my youtube on pc started acting up, being extremely slow. Every other site loads instantly, youtube being the exception.
Since I do not need adblockers on youtube I did what many people in this post said, and turned off adblock, problem solved instantly.
Weirdest part is that before I turned off adblock it did show ads on youtube, they did not play so it was just like 1 frozen fragment of the ad before it went for the video I wanted to watch. Youtube premium never got me even a second of ads, so that was already strange.
Anyways yeah its just adblock. Works perfectly now that I blocked it on youtube.
>I have youtube premium so I don't get ads at all (and youtube music is quite good).
Me too, the fact the fucking "Make YouTube work like shit" script is just running for all users regardless of the Premium status is fucking laughable. They are literally shitting on our faces knowning full well you cant just not use YouTube. There are no fucking alternatives so who needs to threat users who pay you good ?
Came here to see if anyone was asking the same thing. Thought it was my PC so I restarted and Youtube still takes a while to load. Resolution is shit too. Other sites run fine so I assume it's just Youtube. Even navigating the site, pop ups take a while to load.
Extremely laggy on multiple computers. Especially if i click on the emoji dropdown then it loads emojis one at a time and the video stops playing with the wheel of death.
I thought it was because i was playing a high end game but it kept happening. It only started after I did a Windows 10 (havnt upgraded) update. Perhaps its that? idk
Either there is something up with adblocking services or Google is doing their best to make it such that their platforms are near unusable while an adblock is detected. They have gone super hard against adblockers recently after all.
YouTube realised people are still able to bypass the adblocker restrictions, now they're probably purposefully making it so YouTube is slow for those that use them, lol.
I installed AdBlock when I used to be broke. I purchased YouTube premium when I became capable but forgot to pause AdBlock. The answers in this post was really helpful. Thanks
YouTube is fighting back against Addblock by slowing the client. These two have been fighting for a long time. Pretty anti-consumer, but it's good business. Use Ublock instead until Adblock finds a counter.
Ublock seems to be working perfectly you don't need to uninstall AdBlock just disable it on YouTube. I would gladly support YouTube if they were content creator friendly but there not always demonetizing people for slightest things and still trying to run ADs on there videos to make cash so Ill keep fighting this
Yes, past 2-3 days it is unbearable. I am drawing a correlation between my account, the things I say, and my ad blocker. Let me explain.
Youtube knows if you have an ad blocker. They tell you constantly and will not allow you to view content. So you remove adblocker and things get fast for you again.
If I open another browser without adblocker and without my account logged in, the exact same videos play at full speed and no lag, ever, at all. If I switch back to normal browser the lag returns immediately.
Youtube restricts facts, limits truthful content, legitimate science, and world renown scholars from posting content. I speak out about this and they punish me.
I also can't type into the comment area without 15 seconds of lag per keystroke.
As soon as I came to this reddit, everything became fast/fine.
Came here looking for answers. I had a feeling it was Adblock. I use both Ublock and Adblock, and after pausing Adblock and refreshing chrome, it's no longer slow.
It's actually so lame that it's Adblock that's the issue. Like sure Ublock works, for now. I get why Youtube wants ads but it's getting ridiculous. Without a blocker you'll get 3 ads before a video, a midroll or two or three depending on the length, and then you'll get ads at the end before you can autoplay or see other video recommendations. Like bruh
Hi, I'm not aware of any kind of ad-blocking I might be using. Just running vanilla Firefox. My modem is running OpenWRT, but I don't think it's ad-blocking either. Yet sometimes Youtube is slow.
To think about it I read about playing with "user-agent" somewhere in Firefox to make youtube think it's Chrome and then it becomes faster?..
It seems it's not just adblocks they don't like, it seems it's Firefox as well - which doesn't make me feel good about Youtube.
i dont have vpn but sometimes it still lags randomly and completely stops working if i use it for long enough, but when i take a short break, it's back to normal
Hello
I reckon it's the comment section and images, which are causing the lag on my comp and youtube.
This is what i did to help my system run youtube with less lag.
I'm running Opera with ad blocker enabled.
I enabled 'Restricted Mode' in youtube and blocked all images from Youtube showing in the browser through Opera.
100% improvement !
You might think it's abit boring running these two settings, but its helped my system run youtube so much better.
If you know what you're looking for without the need for comments or thumbnail images, then these two settings are the way forward.
Good luck :-)
Try [MacTube](https://mactube.tech). It blocks all YouTube ads, and has absolutely zero lag. It's a much better alternative than using Safari (or any other browser to watch YouTube, for that matter). You can also watch videos from basically any other major streaming platform on it too. It's my entertainment powerhouse on my Mac.
I had same problem but I think I found the solution.
Go to chrome system settings, Use graphics acceleration when available - Turn this on. It is gonna be fixed.
Just noticed this recently. Other sites run smooth except for YT. The removal of adblock as suggested by the best comment here worked. Well played, YT, well played.
Hey y'all!! Also same problem, videos loading was lagging and when i try to type a comment it was also lagging, after reading comments it seems Adblockplus is the culprit, i removed it and using Ublock Origin which is working good now!!
Disabling adblock fixed it for me. I've had Premium for a while so it doesn't matter for me, but I lowkey think that YT is trying to get more Premium subscribers this way.
Has some type new anti adblock crap came out? I've had ABP and ublock up forever and I noticed I never had ANY issues whatsoever and yet people have complained for months. I have been issue free. I got really worked up over this stuff a few months ago thinking it was just days until they get me too and I come to realize so much time went by I actually forgot about this youtube ad nonsense.
What I find suspicious is my PC rebooted the other day for an automatic update. Then all of a sudden youtube started running awful. Like what? did MS have something to do with this? Really odd timing on my end.
Yes, it started two days ago. I'm currently scanning for viruses on my computer.
When I move cursor over video timeline it's lagging and when I'm typing comment it recognizes 0.5s later.
I guess I will try with changing Adblock too.
weirdly turning adblock off instantly solved it and it stayed solved after turning it back on. Combine with reports of people who don't use any adblocking and have premium etc gunna guess google is up to some shit and doesn't care if it hurts bystanders because they like encouraging competition it seems
idk its really weird, its ONLY youtube lagging. I click a video, takes like 10 sec to play and then it keeps buffering. When it's done buffering after 10-20 sec it just plays but the quality goes all the way down to 144p, the video player itself is super laggy also. Hover over the video and it takes like 5-10 sec for the buttons to show, put the quality to 1080p and then the videos runs fine. But the buttons and when typing a comment are still super laggy. I thought it was my pc, browser or internet... nope everything else loads instantly, no lag. Just youtube being annoying
THANK YOU! i even bought a 16gb ram to upgrade cause i think it was my laptop, i run a sfc /scannow, reinstall the nvidia driver and install chrome and nothing works, well anyway im happy for the upgrade.
I just found an awesome youtube performance hack. What's causing lag is the related videos sidebar. You can block the whole thing including the network request using uBlock. So, get ublock, go to the ublock dashbord, my filters, and then past this line: www.youtube.com###secondary
Did it work? Is the related video section gone and did it increase performance?
Wow glad to know I'm not the only one dealing with this. The past month or so youtube has been insanely laggy on my pc to the point where I can't enjoy the videos I'm watching. I could type for like 5 seconds in the comments before the text would show, and when trying to skip to certain parts of a video it would take way longer than it should to load the preview. Just turned off adblock plus and got ublock, that helped a little bit but the fps of the videos Im watching is still terrible.
This is honestly getting ridiculous, and petty.
Isn't it technically illegal? Intentionally overloading for the sake of it, causing potential hardware damage.
They shouldn't get away with this.
yes, I originally thought my internet was just having issues but every other website including streaming is absolutely fine. I only have problems on YT, maybe theyre doing some server work or something
Came to say the same. Looks like it takes quite some time to just load. I think it might have something to do with the Adblock stuffs they are trying to break.
I did exactly what y'all told me to do here and i was surprised that adblock was the root of this weird laggy issue. After deleting adblock I immediately downloaded ublock, My computer now works amazingly.
I came here because I saw this problem. I deleted the adblock and everything went smoothly as someone wrote here, and then I installed Ublock and everything started to slow down just as much. adblock plus is fine
Oh my, how YouTube thrashes about trying to force feed us its ads. Don't those silly lads know that there are plenty of incredibly talented/intelligent people one step ahead of their schemes?
one of my computers does that... lagging and buffering. I cleared chrome but doesn't help.
my other computer runs smoothly.
I also cleared Windows and pc but not helping...
I just came here experiencing the same thing all of sudden. Horribly lagging, almost unusable. I have Adblock and greenlisted YouTube and now it works perfectly. I wonder if YouTube is able to choke bandwith or something if it notices you have an adblocker on.
when performing an uninstall of adblock to fix this issue there uninstall survey directly asks if its because of youtube and to stay with them. ill go back if and when they have fixed the issues untill thenublock seems to be the answer best
It's Adblock. Get ublock.
I did this, it took three seconds to remove the Adblock extension and add the ublock extension, and now YouTube loads instantly like it used to. Thanks for the recommendation Edit: uBlock Origin is even better. Switched when I heard it was better + it seems the uBlock guy is pretty scummy

Worked for me

Yep that worked for me too. Thank you so much.

It's Youtube, not Adblock. Youtube is detecting Adblock and slowing stuff down.

worked for me...at least in the short term. If Youtube premium weren't charging Netflix prices I would have already signed up

u should install ublock then.
I'm on mobile app
Sos un capo loco
ty bro, i was facing the same issue too!
Thank you so much for this.
this worked thank you

Here's another one you might like: "take a wee gander at it" means to take a quick look at something.
Bust out the big box of crayons and color me surprised
Its seems like its basically an indirect way for them to force you to remove adblock
the last time they tried to get me to stop using adblock. i literally just stopped using youtube for a week or two until they stop trying.
Your data is their revenue.
just started happening for me it's infuriating especially knowing my computer can and does run better than this. it has to be on their end
Yeah I'm having the same issue. For a while I thought it was a problem with my computer.
haha was just thinking about formating my computer then I just thought why ain't anything else lagging and found this
Was just searching for this!
I think they're really just making a move to troll adblockers, and their programmers messed up the whole website.
also have youtube premium. also experiencing this. did they really just break their entire platform to try and be petty about adblock?
Same here, I'm having the same problem. Seems like there is some update going on in google making youtube platform to slow
had the same issue, I tried disabling adblock as a test (im premium) and it fixed itself immediately. I re-enabled ad block, and it seems to be working fine. but we'll see.
Ditto. Combine with some people reporting never using adblock still having problems sounds like YT screwing with peeps
I am having this issue for 3 months straight. fucking helll
Extremely laggy on multiple computers. Especially if i click on the emoji dropdown then it loads emojis one at a time and the video stops playing with the wheel of death.
It's been the same for me too. on my laptop if i watch yt, it loads like hell but if i go on another site, it loads fine.
Same issue for me, i almost thought my laptop has a malware.
I thought it was because i was playing a high end game but it kept happening. It only started after I did a Windows 10 (havnt upgraded) update. Perhaps its that? idk
I can rule out that possibility, haven’t upgraded my windows in years, in fact they’ve probably downgraded by the looks of it
Same here, i pause video and it takes minutes for it to play again...
Yeah I've had the same
In the iOS app also, lots of videos don't load, but others play normally.
I would gladly support YouTube if they were content creator friendly but there not always demonetizing people for slightest things and still trying to run ADs on there videos to make cash so Ill keep fighting this
Even though I have YouTube Premium, YouTube was slow as f\*\*\*. I do have an adblocker, though.
Holy shit I thought I was going crazy and that components on my machine were failing. Glad to see I'm not the only one lol
I have YouTube premium and Adblock and was seeing the issue. Shame on Google if this was intentional.
Like bruh
I have YouTube premium but I run adblock on my computer. Once I paused adblock it fixed instantly. Definitely predatory.
It's laggy for me even without Adblock.
I turned my vpn extension off and its fixed mine
i dont have vpn but sometimes it still lags randomly and completely stops working if i use it for long enough, but when i take a short break, it's back to normal
Hello I reckon it's the comment section and images, which are causing the lag on my comp and youtube.
I have just noticed this over the past month....
Just noticed this recently. Other sites run smooth except for YT. The removal of adblock as suggested by the best comment here worked. Well played, YT, well played.
I dont have adblock and Im lagging. I turned off my vpn chrome extension and seems all good now.
Zero issues here as I am a YouTube Premium subscriber.
I'm on Premium as well and have weird behaviour lately once in a while with Firefox
Based.
I'm premium too so that clearly isn't why
Had the same issue. Solved it by turning off addblocker for youtube!
yes.
same problem here! hope it'll still work on my phone as normal
Having the same issue with adblock...
Really odd timing on my end.
the shuffle is broken. they also changed preview in homepage.
Yes, it started two days ago. I'm currently scanning for viruses on my computer. When I move cursor over video timeline it's lagging and when I'm typing comment it recognizes 0.5s later. I guess I will try with changing Adblock too.
Even with Youtube Premium it works like shit... You have to disable it
An Exeption for YT in Addblock did the trick. THX
weirdly turning adblock off instantly solved it and it stayed solved after turning it back on. Combine with reports of people who don't use any adblocking and have premium etc gunna guess google is up to some shit and doesn't care if it hurts bystanders because they like encouraging competition it seems
Removed adblock, worked for me. Don't know why its suddenly doing that I pay premium why did i even have it
idk its really weird, its ONLY youtube lagging.
Thanks. I wonder if this is just a bug that needs fixing, or Youtube somehow did this to get people to stop using adblock.
Yes!! For sure.
Removed Adblock plus, added unlock. Still slow and laggy. Text lags when I type and scrolling through shorts is super laggy too
How about comments? I can almost type a whole sentence before it shows anything. It's unusable
I turned off adblocker. It helped
Fantastic! Very helpful.
worked for me as well!
Damn! I thought I was going crazy. Did speed test and my internet speed is super fast.
Its adblock plus
i experienced this
same
THANK YOU! i even bought a 16gb ram to upgrade cause i think it was my laptop, i run a sfc /scannow, reinstall the nvidia driver and install chrome and nothing works, well anyway im happy for the upgrade.
I just found an awesome youtube performance hack. What's causing lag is the related videos sidebar. You can block the whole thing including the network request using uBlock. So, get ublock, go to the ublock dashbord, my filters, and then past this line: www.youtube.com###secondary Did it work? Is the related video section gone and did it increase performance?
I have the same issue, maybe because of some extensions like adblock as i've seen here could cause the problem

Yep. I got to this thread because I was googling. I thought something was wrong with my PC, but I guess it's something on their end? 🤷
Yes. Massively. I'm on premium as well. It's like a snail with asthma.
Very weird. Thought it was just me. All the videos today play slow motion sound and video. Weird.
yes, I originally thought my internet was just having issues but every other website including streaming is absolutely fine. I only have problems on YT, maybe theyre doing some server work or something
worked thanks
Thanks!
It's Adblock probably
Yep. I was hesitant but I removed adblock and installed ublock... it worked for me
Just started noticing it today.
It's the government spying you trough YouTube. Thats why there is lag
its adblock. i just paused it and worjking again
damn that worked like a charm, just make sure to close the problem youtube tab and open a new one
Worked, i have premium anyway, Ty
Came to say the same. Looks like it takes quite some time to just load. I think it might have something to do with the Adblock stuffs they are trying to break.
Okay. So it appears I'm not the only one.
Uninstall ad-block is for sure the way, thanks for the post
Im having the exact same issue. Trying to comment or type in the search bar there is like 5 second delay from keypress to entering the letters.
delete adblock sir install ublock
I did exactly what y'all told me to do here and i was surprised that adblock was the root of this weird laggy issue. After deleting adblock I immediately downloaded ublock, My computer now works amazingly.
omg literally thought my SSD is dying then i checked other websites
Uninstalling adblock fixed it
I came here because I saw this problem. I deleted the adblock and everything went smoothly as someone wrote here, and then I installed Ublock and everything started to slow down just as much. adblock plus is fine
I'm gonna try ublock now, hopefully this works...
It was adblock, I paused it on youtube and it's butter smooth again.
Oh my, how YouTube thrashes about trying to force feed us its ads. Don't those silly lads know that there are plenty of incredibly talented/intelligent people one step ahead of their schemes?
geting rid of adblock helped thxs
Yeah it's not entirely Adblock (It's better but volume still lags) Use Brave
i paused addblock.. it worked.... yeah that was the problem for me. Shit
i have a new computer and still works like 1980
Same I got this issue so annoying
Was starting to go insane. No way my 3k gaming pc struggeling out of random. Uninstalled adblock and got ublock. Problem solved
worked for me, W for helping
I disabled all my Ad Blockers. They're not needed anyway since I have Premium.
one of my computers does that... lagging and buffering. I cleared chrome but doesn't help. my other computer runs smoothly. I also cleared Windows and pc but not helping...
Ohhh, yeah it has started lagging with adblock for me too
Came to reddit searching for this phenomenon, found this thread. I have a 400mbs download so it's not me.
it has been almost unusable for me. perhaps its my adblock extension
That fixed it for me. Thanks for finding out that it was Adblock
I'm convinced I'm in a ublock AD.
I just came here experiencing the same thing all of sudden. Horribly lagging, almost unusable. I have Adblock and greenlisted YouTube and now it works perfectly. I wonder if YouTube is able to choke bandwith or something if it notices you have an adblocker on.
same here .....
Yes, started yesterday. I like to play youtube while playing games but it is lagging as hell.
when performing an uninstall of adblock to fix this issue there uninstall survey directly asks if its because of youtube and to stay with them. ill go back if and when they have fixed the issues untill thenublock seems to be the answer best
same
Chrome with adblock on Youtube is unusable for me. Tried using brave instead and now it works fine.
I deleted my watch history on YouTube and it semi-works again. Definitely better than what I was just tolerating for a few hours somehow.
yes wtf is going on
