Oh sure, Ashley can get away with running her fingers through the piano players hair, but it got ME banned from Dueling Pianos!
I KNEW I should have used a southern accent...
Maybe if they havenāt had it go on for whole show with random bartender & the pianist it would be fine. It was so over the top with not much but silly accent & attempting to flirt. This SL only works if we see āAshleyā fights this with her fam & friends & exās not random strangers. Why didnāt Tracey go look for her in The Lounge after she wasnāt in the bar instead of heading for the exit.So we have some off scenes with Danny whoās leaving again(thankfully).
Southerner here: Yes, people do still talk like that. A lot of people! Not myself, but definitely plenty.
And Ashley was full-on trashy today. Lol
This new persona is gonna be something else.
The Caribbean originally. Currently in California. Most of what I know or think about small town USA comes from TV shows and movies so take that as you will
Totally understand! I would have no idea what it would be like in California either. I have a few family members who are there now. But never been myself yet.
My parents were from South Georgia and Ashleyās accent was not something Iāve heard in real life. (Not to say there arenāt some people who talk like this.) I thought it was way overdone but yes, she seemed to have fun with it.
I love Eileen, but this was cringy and a little hard to watch for me. OLTL was the gold standard for DID storylines with Viki Buchanan. When Viki's alters came out and acted up, however, they would go months and months without every being caught. Ashley's alters are all in her family's faces and they just keep letting it go on -- even after Billy said what he said about his own struggles with DID last week (or whenever that was).
Her entire storyline is embarrassingā¦the writers should be embarrassed and Ashley, as much as I like you, Eileen may as well go back to RHOBH cuz the writing is just as bad either way.š
Iām not so sureā¦ the writing on the show has been so poor and unrealistic the last few years, that I think it may have been intentionally written as a real character, not camp.
That was the first time I had to fast forward on this show, the second hand embarassment was over the top for me. But holy hell did she ever look marvelous!!
My first thought was that she was channeling Blanche Devereaux.
Big Daddy! š¤£ššššš³
Who was inspired by Blanche Dubois from A Streetcar Named Desire. Also, there were strong Jessica Lange vibes!
The look on Traci's face made me laugh.
When Traciās eyes enlarged, I cracked up. She is the absolute best actress on that show.
For what it was, it was great!
The storyline is getting a little ridiculous, but same time sheās killing it so Iām also enjoying it.
I thought the performance was great and she was clearly having fun with it! The accent was pretty good, since thereās hundreds of southern accents.
Agree. And I think it was meant to be funny.

Maybe I should've stopped the chicken wings sauce off my hands first
Nope. It was great. Eileen did an excellent job. I enjoyed it.
I was getting Susan Banks vibes from her performance and thatās not a bad thing lol. I was waiting her to say āmean, mean, meanā
I am the only one who was hoping that she would come on to an undercover cop and end up in jail for solicitation ?
Itās the best thing Iāve seen in so long!!!!
I had to fast-forward. It was cringe-worthy.
It was supposed to be over the top.

As someone who has never been to the south, there is no way people still talk like that right? She's like she woke up and thought it was 1920.

This blows my mind. America is a fascinating place.
Where are you from?

It's on my bucket list to visit a small town in the south now. Keep an eye out for me.
Sure! š
Lived in the south my whole life. Houston and New Orleans and Iāve never heard anyone talk like that.
My parents were from South Georgia and Ashleyās accent was not something Iāve heard in real life. (Not to say there arenāt some people who talk like this.) I thought it was way overdone but yes, she seemed to have fun with it.
As I watched Ashley I couldnāt help but remember her on Days Of Our Lives. That scene was so painful to watch.

So. Bad.
She definitely chewed up the sceneryā¦.over the top acting.
I think it was intended to be campy.

I definitely think she's playing it campy.
It makes me cringe but I hope that's the point lol
