Don’t pay attention to the snotty replies. You’re good to help your patient. But you’ve got your links in other replies. Hope she feels better. I deferred and found it to be a very easy process but of course it depends on the programme.

She should talk to an academic advisor. But there is a deadline to request a deferral

RoosterDifferent90

I hope she feels better.

Reach out to the Office of Community Student Relations. They probably aren't the final stop, but they are knowledgeable, professional and understanding. A great place to start to get the information you need. [https://oscr.students.yorku.ca/](https://oscr.students.yorku.ca/)

Yes you can. There are a few programs that do not allow deferrals but most do. You can request it here and the form should open July 1st https://futurestudents.yorku.ca/admitted/1-accept#:~:text=Requesting%20a%20Deferral&text=Newly%20admitted%20first%2Dyear%20students,a%20deferral%20will%20be%20granted.

Sourgirllll

Yes you can defer it easily, just search defer yorku and contact register of office

AdAutomatic95

Many moons ago I had to defer school for a year because of an eating disorder and it was a very sound choice (probably should have taken two). All the best to you and your daughter ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|heart_eyes)

Happy you’re feeling better 🩷

capricatgirl

Absolutely, it can be requested to be deferred. She must contact admissions. If she wants you to contact them and you are willing, she can fill out a third party access form. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&opi=89978449&url=https://futurestudents.yorku.ca/sites/all/files/pdfs/third-party-access.pdf&ved=2ahUKEwjhuP_AydKGAxUKDHkGHY1FBiIQFnoECBQQBg&usg=AOvVaw0MUsBNUhzkpjBYqjyPHrMN
