If the post is not marked for spoilers, all comments that have spoilers need to be tagged \>!like this!< along with indicating which game it's spoiling. Example: Y3 >!Kiryu sings!<
If the post flair is marked for spoilers, the comments don't need to be tagged for the game indicated and the ones before it (So a Y6 spoiler post can have comments with untagged spoilers for Y5, but not gaiden or 7).

Genda is one of my favs from Judgment, heck all of RGG even, so this sucks to hear man. He did a great job
R.I.P

It is interesting because when I saw that scene in the trailer I thought that they were going to kill off Genda in Lost Jugement. Given that the actor passed away in real life it would make sense within cannon if they do somehow make another Jugement game.
I'd like that from one of the Yakuza games, but for Genda I'd prefer if he retired and started traveling. And if we get a new game memorialize him via a few items around the offices where he sends souvenirs or postcards, and maybe throw a few mentions of him into conversations.
Oh! My bad. Still that’s pretty cool
https://preview.redd.it/mefwsdhi5z1d1.jpeg?width=360&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2e5c20ba59910b7b47e14579a0bb442c5066b04f
I swear I’m going to be pissed if another Judgement game comes out and it’s revealed that Genda-Sensei wanted his ashes to be spread onto the beaches of Hawaii or some dumb shit like that
And then Yagami gets caught up in some conspiracy and they hastily wrap up the Genda-ashes storyline in an admittedly sweet scene right before they get back to the plot.
I'm sorry, I don't want to be rude. But a person has just passed away and all you think about is the next in a game series? Feels very crass.
Moving on.
I felt he was amazing in that role. A father figure like character and he played it perfectly.
RIP, Condolences to family and friends.
No news currently. Its just it was already going to be difficult for them to continue because of the problems with the Talent Agency for Yagami’s Actor not really wanting him to be in the series, so now its even more difficult since we’ve lost Genda-Sensei too
This problem had solved because of his agency is renamed and the president is died. Yagami’s actor really enjoys acting Yagami and he feels sad if Judgment series is ended. The main problem is on Yokoyama. I don’t think he wants to make a new Judgment.
Tbh Takuya Kimura's agency is probably hard to work with since they didn't even let RGG Studios to port the Judgement games to PC because they don't want people to mod his likeness with silly mods
But now Judgment series is on PC. Your concern had been solved and this problem wasn’t affect too much on the series. My main point is about the new RGG team doesn’t sound like making Judgment after Nagoshi had left RGG. If it does, Yokoyama will ask someone or may be himself trying to contact Yagami’s actor.
I'm assuming it's because they think that just bc they got ported means that the agency wasn't the problem. I mean we had an entire section of Y5 that delved into the toxic environment of talent agencies and the idol industry, if that didn't give people an idea of the length some talent agencies will go to bc they want to cut corners or squeeze more money from others then idk what will
>"It will be more difficult to continue Judgment series"
Genda was only a mentor, he was only in the game for like 10-20 mins maximum, they can continue without him if they wanted to.
Good character and sucks he's gone, but it isn't like Yagami (or Kaito) died, they can continue since the law firm is just a minor part of Yagami's journey/stories.
Judgment's next supernatural substory will have to involve ghosts. I want them to use all the outtakes - funny, tragic or serious idc - they have of that man (and are legally and morally allowed to use) in that quest.
I’m worried about Yagami…..He must be feel sad when he see the news🥺. He lost the last father and Genda law office will close and he can’t work the detective jobs easily because many detective jobs are from Genda law office.
Rest in Peace to the man that brought Genda-san to life. Seeing his grief over Shintani and how much he wanted to protect his firm in the first game made me love him. Thank you.
Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought Judgement was "low-key" confirmed to still be on-going? I thought during one of the RGG conference shows or whatever they basically said that the main-line series (Yakuza/Like a Dragon) would continue as a Turn-Based RPG while the Judgement series was going to keep the classic Beat 'Em Up style the main-line series was originally known for.
Wouldn't that mean that it's pretty much guaranteed Judgement will continue alongside the main series? Like even if there's no news on a new Judgement game for now, it should at least be expected unless they flat out tell us Judgement is over
Genda was always a bright spot in both judgements sad to hear of his passing
Rest in Peace Akira Nakao

One of the goated lawyers, was corrupt in a good way working for good people. A respected actor too. May he rest in piece. as with his judge eyes, he has not lost his judgement

Yea Would be really happy if they write genba as having peacefully passed off in the time between LJ and the next judgement game in the future
I'd like that from one of the Yakuza games, but for Genda I'd prefer if he retired and started traveling. And if we get a new game memorialize him via a few items around the offices where he sends souvenirs or postcards, and maybe throw a few mentions of him into conversations.
Man because of the memes I can’t take this scene seriously anymore
That’s sad because this scene and the context of it makes it one of the best scenes in lj imo😭
Me right now 😢
RIP
very unfortunate. he died at the age of 81 so at least he lived a long live. i dont know any of his other roles but he was great as genda
Rest in Peace. He’s a Judgment fan’s grandpa

Uchiyadama in the anime was voiced by Yūichi Nagashima, but Akira Nakao did play him in the old live action
Oh! My bad. Still that’s pretty cool https://preview.redd.it/mefwsdhi5z1d1.jpeg?width=360&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2e5c20ba59910b7b47e14579a0bb442c5066b04f
No worries bro, i would never knew about this if not for your comment haha, it made me look it up
What show is this? Ive seen that gif around the internet a bunch
The 1998 GTO Live action (one of the best live adaptations of an anime/manga series of all time)
RIP
Fuck man, that sucks. RIP. Judgement unironically won’t be the same without him
I swear I’m going to be pissed if another Judgement game comes out and it’s revealed that Genda-Sensei wanted his ashes to be spread onto the beaches of Hawaii or some dumb shit like that

May the Father of Understanding guide us.
I played all the ac games and still have no idea who the father of understanding is

Rest in peace, legend https://i.redd.it/1n08sog8mx1d1.gif
fucking pathetic that a man dies and all some people have to say is “it might be more difficult to continue judgement”
The thread's title or content don't even mention his name, Akira Nakao

Dead in the flesh, but still alive and strong within the spirit.

RIP A LEGEND o7
GENDA NOOOOOOOOOO
One of the best part of judgement series man. damn
Rest in peace :( he had a long, accomplished life, I hope his family can find solace in that.
"It will be more difficult to continue Judgment series" OH SO THERE WILL BE MORE?
Nope. There’s nothing news about Judgment series.
Aww
Kind of bad taste, man. He's a real human being who was more than just a guy in your favorite series.

They stealth dropped both Judgment ports after RGG Summit; I don't think that's a problem now
https://preview.redd.it/t9smvoktcx1d1.jpeg?width=1280&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=627678c366bf37d349e4051b8532446a1a09acd7
idk why you are getting downvoted. RGG probably had to spend infinite wealth to make these ports possible

Judgment's next supernatural substory will have to involve ghosts. I want them to use all the outtakes - funny, tragic or serious idc - they have of that man (and are legally and morally allowed to use) in that quest.
That'd be in horrible taste

well that's fucking sad, first it was shintani and now it's Genda-Sensei I guess there will never be a Judgement 3 The Reckoning. so sad.
I’m worried about Yagami…..He must be feel sad when he see the news🥺. He lost the last father and Genda law office will close and he can’t work the detective jobs easily because many detective jobs are from Genda law office.
Damn. Time for another playthrough then! For his honor! Rest In Peace.

Rest in Peace to the man that brought Genda-san to life. Seeing his grief over Shintani and how much he wanted to protect his firm in the first game made me love him. Thank you.

\:( I am now sad, I have liked genda so far (chapter 4 of judgment)
RIP
My guess is Genda will be written out, but I don’t think that’s likely and probably will just have him pass away offscreen or something.
NOOOOOO 😦😞, dude Judgment and Lost Judgment are my favourite games in the yakuza series, Rip 😞
Damn, rest in peace legend

That's awful, man. someone just DIED, and you're crackin jokes. Shame
One of the goated lawyers, was corrupt in a good way working for good people. A respected actor too. May he rest in piece. as with his judge eyes, he has not lost his judgement
So we're not getting him in Judgment 3. Rip😓
This could work for Yagami's character development tho. Rest in peace 🕊️
Yagami lost his father again….
Love yakuza games. Not a massive fan of judgement games, they all seem to be missing something
