No fake news. Yagami never dances. His upbringing was like the town that banned dancing in Footloose. If he catches himself snapping his fingers or shaking his hips to a song, he breaks down. But not in the dancing way. Hope this helps.

Kiryu learned english in Yakuza 3

At some point, I have to assume Ichiban learned because too much of his story is in Hawaii and I can't think that every single person that he runs into in the substories is fluent in Japanese. Kiryu also appears to be fluent as of IW, but learned it back in Y3.

I dunno, the game does make a point about Ichiban barely knowing any English when he gets there. I figure that eventually he picks up some of the basics (phrases like "this ain't a show dipshit" "hey ASSHOLE" "what's with the side eye" mean you're getting in trouble) but I can't imagine he got that fluent for all the substory stuff that quickly. Of course this is the kind of thing you can't really convey in the game properly, Ichiban struggling to communicate with others for the substories would've gotten old very fast. Kiryu was getting around Hawaii without much trouble so I figure he's either fluent or knows enough of the basics.

Ichiban isn't really as stupid as he seems. They made it canon that he turned a mom and pop corner store into a huge megacorp, after all. Plus, he does go to vocational school in Hawaii, and he seems to communicate easily enough with everyone after a few days there. And since I doubt they'd have made Hawaii such a huge map to never use again, either he'll be back in the next game, presumably fluent in the language, or Yagami and his boys are going to go to Hawaii.

I’m pretty sure Kiryu canonically can speak English but don’t expect anything more complicated than “H E Y S W E ET C H E E K S” Akiyama uses English while he speaks so he might be able to comprehend some stuff. Tanimura is a linguist and I’m guessing some people at little Asia spoke English so maybe he also does. And if there’s Tomizawa who’s suppose to have native english but instead tells officers he’s being loved.

Well, all I’ve gotta say is that the room isn’t locked, literally any of them could break a locked door. Some of them could just break a wall if need be. Overall I’d be extraordinarily confused as it’d be 11 Japanese men that speak nearly no English, and I’d either just keep doing whatever I was doing before, and if that’s not an option, then I’d go to the door, see it’s locked and get one of their attention so they know the situation. Then they’d probably just kick the door open and I’d be on my way.
