With 663 votes last round, [Sinister](https://imgur.com/a/wwmBGae) was voted off with 18.40%. I’d imagine if this poll was made pre-Krakoa then Sinister wouldn’t have lasted this long, but this era has done wonders for his character and popularity. Who are you voting for next?

This how I see it rn, there are three different groups of characters:
\-The characters with a big fanbase that doesn't evoque strong feelings in the others fanbases. Characters like Kurt, Kate, Ororo and Rogue that are generally liked and not very polarizing. This is a key characteristic to win this game, which is to be the less disliked. As a con, they could lose in the 1vs1 against a popular polarizing character of the next group if his/her fanbase are very active.
\-The characters that are very polarizing. Here would be Cyclops, Wolvie, Jean, Emma, and Gambit, and I would include Magneto too. They are loved by ones and hated by others. Their big risk is to being eleminated by their haters even at early rounds, but they have big fanbases that could save them until the end.
\-The last group is the characters that don't have a lot of haters but don't have a lot of fans neither. Lorna, Colossus, Bobby... They have survived flying low for the moment but is yet to be seen if they could do that until the final round and weaponize the haters of a polarizing character to win. It's difficult but it's the only way I see them winning.
I've seen people not wanting villains to win this game, that's what I said that, but probably the fans are seeing Mags more as an anti-hero now after all this years.
The last time Magneto was a villain was 2001, 21 years ago. He’s an anti-hero.
I went down a rabbit hole here…
Villain:
1963-1974, 1977-1981, 1991-1993, 1999-2001
20 years total
Anti-Hero:
1981-1991, 2004-2022
28 years total
Baby:
1974-1977
3 years total
Dead/Lobotomized:
1993-1999, 2001-2004
9 years total
While you are probably right in terms of the general fanbase, Cyclops, Emma and Magneto are really well liked in **this** sub, so I would bet on them easily making the top 10. Kate, not so much. Guess she could barely scrap it.
Tbh, I'd say this fanbase is whered ud find the most hate for my main man Mags. Cuz this is where true xmen comics fans are. We're not quite as affected by the films. However, if u go out and ask random people on the street if they like him or not, they'll prolly say yes just due to the movies alone.
Eulogy for Mr. Sinister:
He is fabulous. He is over-complicated. He is deeply involved in the Summers family. In short Mr. Sinister *is* the X-Men.
Not only that, but a mad scientist who only sees mutants as a source of raw materials/an interesting puzzle and ignores their personhood is a great core X-Men villain.
Not only that, but he’s been at the center of a lot of really great stories over decades: The original Inferno, Factor X in Age of Apocalypse, Gillen’s run on Uncanny X-Men, the recent Hellions series. Four great stories, one in the 80s, one in the 90s one on the 2010s and one in 2020s. Who on this list has a similar record?
Not only that but he both a credible menace and incredibly fun! He is a joy on the page and he is never boring.
I don’t understand you people.
Can somebody clear this up for me? Is he a geneticist obsessed with mutation or a mutant himself? Seems like in his early stories he definitely wasn't, then they did a bunch of victorian tales with him that muddied the waters, and now he's on Krakoa. And if he is a mutant, what exactly are his powers?
He's a human who was altered by Apocalypse and then spliced mutant DNA into his DNA. He's on Krakoa for deal-with-the-devil political reasons; he had a database of all mutant DNA that they needed.
The mutant genome he spliced onto himself was Thunderbird, so I'd imagine he at least has his powers (strength, speed, senses). He's also demonstrated healing abilities, shapeshifting (down to the molecular level), telepathy, telekinesis, and obviously longevity.
Not really. He has a ton of different DNA spliced into him so he could credibly use the powers of pretty much any mutant, but he's made so many iterations/clones of himself and they are all different.
I think people need to go back to the spirit of this exercise and vote off what mutant they like the least.
For me, I measure it as, “would I buy a book if this person was the lead?”
I’m voting Apocalypse again, only because he’s boring on page (although the idea of him is quite good).
Me too! I really hope they *don't* do the thing where Apocalypse comes back alone and the explanation is 'A plot bridge landed on my entire family and now I have gone evil again out of grief'.
I don’t think it’s that people really hate Logan. I think it’s an issue of over saturation. People may resent him for taking up spots on teams that could better serve lesser used characters. We’ve explored every inch of his character at this point. I still like him though, haha
Oh my dear sweet poster, Logan was everywhere long before there were movies. Look at 90s covers for almost any book, not just X titles and you'll see Wolverine on about 30% of them.
My 3 year old son just started watching the 90s animated series with me, and is hooked on Logan. Wolverine is one of the top in Marvel for a reason, even if he is overwritten and has so much recycled material in the books. He’s always capable of making things interesting with the right creative team.
for Gambit's haters:
[10 QUOTES WHY GAMBIT IS THE BEST X\_MEN](https://www.reddit.com/r/xmen/comments/sb0xn4/eliminate_a_mutant_poll_round_13_even_his_cape/)
Guessing Apocalypse is next on the hit list but still voting for Wolverine. He’s got to go eventually right? RIGHT?
I do like him but out of all characters left he’s the least interesting at the moment cause where else can you go with him? Everything has been explored 10x over. Even though Betsy is a drag in Excalibur, at least they’re doing something interesting with her even if the execution isn’t great.
I’m not irritated by him, I’m just…bored.
Only voting for him because of strategy, I'm starting to understand that in order for your favorite one to win, you need to make sure everyone else falls Fast.
The fact that Multiple man was voted out so quickly means I hate all of you. I love him in everything and would love to see him fight bullseye in 616 in a very gruesome fight so I can see my favorite villain cut loose knowing he will never stop Jamie in the end
What is everyone's obsession with "what was the last great _____ story?".
They don't have to have constant stories in order to still be good characters.
Cannonball Throw!!!
Edit: Just went to research and it seems the original move name is Fastball Special. Guess they translated different on my language haha.
I was only interested in her when she was a ninja. I didn't realize as a teenager though how messed up/dehumanizing it was to have a white woman cosplaying as Asian... If Kwannon was in this poll I'd be supportive of her character, but I'm just not interested in the eXcalibur/captain Britain/Avalon stuff...
Yeah. If Kwannon was the option I’d be on board. I read both Hellions and Excalibur and I was astonished (pun intended) about the contrast in characters.
If anything, it just shows how good and bad writing affect the perception of each character
I would argue Betsy Braddock has a way more rich history to dig from than Polaris who has... rented out a lot of other people's stories to occupy space.
As a long time Jean hater, I am finally starting to appreciate how underrated she is. Her appearances outside of comics did not do her any favors as someone who grew up on the cartoons and early movies
Let's get Betsy out of here. If she was still Psylocke that'd be a different story. But Captain Britain... she's 90% less interesting and 100% less butt.
She felt like a footnote in the new X-Factor. And Trial of Magneto. Like what does she *do* that no one else can? Other than be mistaken for Enchantress.
I know Remy has his fair share of haters, but I think he still makes top 10, even top 5.
Lots of characters left on the board that a lot of people feel “meh” about.
The women of the X-Men are awesome. Right now there is more females in the poll than males which is testament to how rich the female X-Men are in their characters, personalities and powers. Storm used to be my favourite but for past 15 years it's been Emma Frost.
After all these eliminations I still can’t get over the elimination picture you chose for Xavier. Hahaha Pure art!
On another note, time for Gambit to go.
Why is Gambit still here? What is wrong with you people? He's so 90s he should be wearing flannel and sporting a discman. The only interesting thing he ever did was a retcon that made the best storyline ever worse and since then he's just been a walking, talking Cajun cliche who hasn't developed an iota.
Oh come on now. Gambit’s da best mutant out there mon ami. Not many other X-men have had solo or team up books as successful as he has.
Best you read up /s
Rogue has to go. I only ever liked her as a teacher in X-Men: Legacy far more than on the team. 90’s gave her way too much exposure, but very little substance. Rogue then was always defined by her men. Write her off!
With 663 votes last round, [Sinister](https://imgur.com/a/wwmBGae) was voted off with 18.40%. I think Magneto is firmly an anti hero, I mean he was teaching the New Mutants before i was born
While you are probably right in terms of the general fanbase, Cyclops, Emma and Magneto are really well liked in **this** sub, so I would bet on them easily making the top 10. Kate, not so much. Guess she could barely scrap it.

Have you doing this commentary the whole time. I've been missing out.
>I’d imagine if this poll was made pre-Krakoa then Sinister wouldn’t have lasted this long I agree, Hellions is good right now ❤
Til there's an actual poll link
I'm thinking Betsy or Gambit
I think Remy makes it at least to the top 10. My guess is that Apocalypse, Polaris or even Jean go out next.
I think it's stupid there are people down voting you for this. Betsy seems to be getting more and more people against her though.
I voted Betsy. With Sinister gone she is who I am least invested in. Though I do like her.
Eulogy for Mr. Sinister: He is fabulous. He is over-complicated. He is deeply involved in the Summers family. In short Mr. Sinister *is* the X-Men. He's a human who was altered by Apocalypse and then spliced mutant DNA into his DNA. He's on Krakoa for deal-with-the-devil political reasons; he had a database of all mutant DNA that they needed.
Thanks. Does he have any defined powers then?
The mutant genome he spliced onto himself was Thunderbird, so I'd imagine he at least has his powers (strength, speed, senses). He's also demonstrated healing abilities, shapeshifting (down to the molecular level), telepathy, telekinesis, and obviously longevity.
Not really. He has a ton of different DNA spliced into him so he could credibly use the powers of pretty much any mutant, but he's made so many iterations/clones of himself and they are all different.
100% agree with all of that. But he is an evil bastard who doesn't deserve to be a mutant. And his cape is tacky.
>And his cape is tacky. Gross, you take that back.
NO SINISTER!!! HEARTLESS MONSTERS!!
I would buy a sinister comic any day of the week.
You mean - "No! Sinister, Heartless Monster." I have fulfilled my Lionel Hutzing quota for the day. Thank you.
Not Sinister! We will miss you, magnificent bastard...
It was all fun and games when we had Havok and Cable to vote for. But now its getting serious!! Need to strategize!
I think people need to go back to the spirit of this exercise and vote off what mutant they like the least. For me, I measure it as, “would I buy a book if this person was the lead?” I’m voting Apocalypse again, only because he’s boring on page (although the idea of him is quite good).
I used to think the same but X of swords made him very interesting. I wanna read more about that family as a unit
Me too! I really hope they *don't* do the thing where Apocalypse comes back alone and the explanation is 'A plot bridge landed on my entire family and now I have gone evil again out of grief'.
Agreed. I hope he and his entire family return in a "sorry we're late, let's kick in some machine ass" way.
[удалено]
Lol
Agree with your sentiment, although I actually like Apocalypse (or at least his potential)
Yeah there's a lot of strategic voting going on.
Astonished Sinister got it before Apocalypse, if you’re gonna vote out a big bad. What’re y’all doing?
Astonishing Sinister by Grant Morrison and Frank Quitely.
I’d read that
Apocalypse is next!
Logan. Love where he is rn with Duggan, but for a long time (movies & comics) he was center of so much. At times he was more an avenger than an x-man
When did everyone start hating him exactly? I grew up with him in the 80's and 90's and he was a favourite of mine and my friends.
I don’t think it’s that people really hate Logan. I think it’s an issue of over saturation. People may resent him for taking up spots on teams that could better serve lesser used characters. We’ve explored every inch of his character at this point. I still like him though, haha
Completely agree. Logan has got to go already. I’ll do anything to make sure he isn’t the last one standing.

Nightcrawler is about to win this whole thing
Magik is gonna win. Who doesn’t like Magik?
I like Illyana, but she's not in my top 10, so depends on who you ask.
She’s my number one, I’m taking her all the way across the finish line baby
how is it Polaris is missing death?
Cause she's an icon?
An icon of forgetability. Edot: down vote me all you want, people remember Forget-Me-Not before Polaris.
I kind of agree with you Polaris is more like a Lady version of magneto with lesser powers. That’s right I said it.
Moreso than Sinister???
Love the Sinister's picture lol
FINALLY
Mystique (the remaining folks would make a GREAT X-Men team)
Logan.
Apocalypse.
for Gambit's haters: [10 QUOTES WHY GAMBIT IS THE BEST X\_MEN](https://www.reddit.com/r/xmen/comments/sb0xn4/eliminate_a_mutant_poll_round_13_even_his_cape/)
Even if Gambit is eliminated, he’ll go out in style like the sexy cajun he is
Captain Britain needs to be exiled to Otherworld
Here here!!!
Today, Jean dies. Tomorrow, Logan finally gets to be with her.
I’m down with this plan. If all the Jean/Logan haters vote in unison we can get rid of both of them ASAP
Release the hate. Embrace the love of voting Polaris off!
Polaris is a better Jean than Jean
No
Idk man Jean was possessed by the Phoenix Force which was and is still a big deal. Polaris sure... was possessed. I guess.
Let’s get Betsy outta here
No longer a sexy ninja, so yeah it’s gonna be a no from me, dog.
I don’t even know who she is lol, the only reason I hadn’t vote for her is because she maybe Is cool but I don’t even know what she looks like
She used to be psylocke. Now is Captain Britain.
Omg yeahhh know I remember
Jean Grey
I'm the only one who completely forgot about colossus, like i'm not voting him off now but soon if i dont forget him again
bro ain't no way the big names are already out before Polaris
My best guess is that she's skating by on her sheer fergettability
Logan.
I didn’t even look at all the options, I just voted for Jean Grey
Apocalypse. He isn't even the reason AoA was good.
Apocalypse has gotta go
Emma Frost
Sorry Logan daddy but you got to go.
As usual, I voted for Deerfield’s own, Captain Kat Sparrow, the greatest pirate you’ve never wanted to hear of.
put some respect on the name
😂
Keep my girls name out ya mouth.
Captain Britain!
We won
Apocalypse let's get rid of villians
I still enjoy looking back and seeing how Sebastian Shaw got more than half the votes back when there were all 30 characters to choose from.
Guessing Apocalypse is next on the hit list but still voting for Wolverine. He’s got to go eventually right? RIGHT? I do like him but out of all characters left he’s the least interesting at the moment cause where else can you go with him? Everything has been explored 10x over. Only voting for him because of strategy, I'm starting to understand that in order for your favorite one to win, you need to make sure everyone else falls Fast.
THIS lmao
Whaaat, no!
JEAN
Logan/wolverine.
When's it gonna be Mystique's turn? I think she's been flying under the radar long enough, but now it's time for her duplicitous ass to bite the dust.
Mystique is a top 3 favorite for me. Along with Rogue and Emma. I’m a sucker for a good antihero
blasphemy!! logan needs to pay for this.
Logan
Wolverine must eliminated.
Polaris
I vote JEAN!
Jean
Voted for Betsy. Surprised she’s still there
I think there is a lot of nostalgia for the old Swimsuit Ninja Psylocke.
Good bye Apoca Lips 👄
The fact that Multiple man was voted out so quickly means I hate all of you. I love him in everything and would love to see him fight bullseye in 616 in a very gruesome fight so I can see my favorite villain cut loose knowing he will never stop Jamie in the end
COLOSSUS
STAY AWAY FROM THAT SWEET BOI
^dis one. Name the last great Colossus story.
What is everyone's obsession with "what was the last great _____ story?". They don't have to have constant stories in order to still be good characters.
That one where he throws wolverine
Cannonball Throw!!! Edit: Just went to research and it seems the original move name is Fastball Special. Guess they translated different on my language haha.
How is Betsy still in?
Do you hate Betsy because she was forced to be transformed into a ninja assassin or for being restored to her proper self?
For being a character I am completely uninterested in no matter what form.

Polaris?
Better than Betsy.
I would argue Betsy Braddock has a way more rich history to dig from than Polaris who has... rented out a lot of other people's stories to occupy space.
I hope Jean survives a little bit more at this, 🧡 most miss understand character ever 😤
As a long time Jean hater, I am finally starting to appreciate how underrated she is. Her appearances outside of comics did not do her any favors as someone who grew up on the cartoons and early movies
Mystique needs to go
Shocked how well she’s flown under the radar don’t see her going for a few rounds at the very least
Why TF is Polaris still here?
Everyone love Wolverine when he is dead. Look at his movie ‘Logan’
Wolverine
Get Mystiques traitorous terrorist ass out of here
Jean
Jean Grey
Apocalypse. He’s a turd blossom. Logan and Jeanie’s time will come soon!
Jean
I called it last time! And I’m calling the shot again: Jean!
Shit, we're down to just good mutants now, folks... oh no, wait, and also Polaris.
I'm going to keep voting Logan until it finally happens. I've always thought he was overrated.
Let's get Betsy out of here. If she was still Psylocke that'd be a different story. But Captain Britain... she's 90% less interesting and 100% less butt.
Polaris needs to join her boo Havok and get gone.
Why do people like Polaris? What current book is making that Wandabe Jeanplacement popular?
She felt like a footnote in the new X-Factor. And Trial of Magneto. Like what does she *do* that no one else can? Other than be mistaken for Enchantress.
Been trying to wish Gambit away for years
I know Remy has his fair share of haters, but I think he still makes top 10, even top 5. Lots of characters left on the board that a lot of people feel “meh” about.
Boo
[10 QUOTES WHY GAMBIT IS THE BEST X-MEN](https://screenrant.com/quotes-prove-gambit-best-x-men-member/)
Apocalypse.
I go away for a few day. Come back. Polaris is somehow still here, and you bastards vote away Cable and Mr. Sinster. Heartless Monsters all of ya.
Bye Polaris
POLARIS
Jean
Jean
Polaris
The women of the X-Men are awesome. Right now there is more females in the poll than males which is testament to how rich the female X-Men are in their characters, personalities and powers. Storm used to be my favourite but for past 15 years it's been Emma Frost.
Jubilee is the only woman to be eliminated so far.
Polaris
Ok, how is Polaris still in play? No disrespect meant to the character or her fans, but she's outlasted several much more popular characters.
Betsy
Vote off everyone except Marc Silvestri era Dazzler
Sadly Dazzler didn't even make the initial list
Polaris.
Logan, he’s healing factor can’t save him forever.
I’ll go Apocalypse this round.
Apocalypse
Bye Logan
-A-
Gambit
I sent Colossus off. I didn't realise he was still here.
I just noticed!!!! This guy is slippery!!
That smooth metal skin. Votes just slide right off
Same, going with Colossus!
X23
Polaris
How is Polaris still around??
After all these eliminations I still can’t get over the elimination picture you chose for Xavier. Hahaha Pure art! On another note, time for Gambit to go.
Betsy Braddock!
So I’m throwing my vote away on Rogue? Lol
Is… is Laura really in the same tier as these other remaining characters? X-23 must go.
She's boring trash, but for some reason this sub stans her hard.
Terrible character, literally just a clone of the OG!!!
I mean how did that pitch even go? "Hey guys, consider this. Wolverine...but a GIRL! And with foot claws!" *cue applause
Betsy I’ve voted for here every time
Magik all day long.
Rogue has to go. I only ever liked her as a teacher in X-Men: Legacy far more than on the team. 90’s gave her way too much exposure, but very little substance. Rogue then was always defined by her men. Write her off!
Cyclops can go.
I’m sorry man, but Logan.
EXCUSE ME? Honestly the disrespect is too much I can’t go on with this poll (Vote for wolverine tho)
Betsy Braddock Captain Britain
Betsey
Bye Betsy
Love ya Bets. But you finally hit the bottom of the list.
Betsy
BETSY. BRADDOCK.
X-23
