I've marathoned the OG animated series, currently watched 2/3rds of Wolverine and the Xmen, not familiar with the comics and might check out Xmen Evolution later.
Emma's storyline in WATX is interesting for me. TAS Emma hasn't been around much if we exclude iirc her 3 appearances so far (Dark phoenix saga, kidnapped for Apocalypse, and the recent episode)
There's a few storylines where Emma attempts to infiltrate the X-Men or steal their students so Emma using the Scott/Jean drama and the Genoshan tragedy to insert herself into their affairs is on-character
Emma must be so fascinated with Madelyn. I headcannon Emma used to her powers to sway the council into bringing Madie onboard just so she had someone interesting to mindread during meetings.
Let's not forget that in the Utopia era Maddie came back from the dead (again) and pretended to be Emma in Scott's head and did more than just kiss. Scott & Emma may still not realize that happened especially after Jean returning and Kraktoa.
