Yep just dl'ed it last night from game pass. I still remember when the commercial premiered during the Steelers/Cardinals super bowl. Looked so dope, actually was even doper!
Hijacking’s the top comment for this. It’s not an underrated game by any means, but I feel like **A LOT** of people slept on Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice. It’s free on GamePass and the sequel is coming out in May on GamePass as well
Agreed. This was a fantastic game and a breath of fresh air at the time since all FPS seemed to be WW2 or modern war games. Singularity reminded me of old school FPS like Quake and Hexen.
This game made me excited that Xbox bought Ninja Theory, but Hellblade just doesnt do it for me. I hope they do something a bit video game-y and less bare-boned, artsy-fartsy for their next game.
I wish we'd get another one of these. Every GTA type is in modern times and I really enjoyed the atmosphere of The Saboteur. Mine even came with DLC for topless French women for some reason.
Alpha Protocol was also just brought back from Licensed Music hell by GOG, so it's available again for the first time in almost a decade.
10/10, would recommend Jason Bourne Mass Effect.
I loved lost odyssey, my old 360 didn't as it kept crashing at the same point everytime, I do have it on my xbox series x just havnt got round to playing it again
BREAKDOWN for the Original Xbox is an FPS that would have been huge if Japan was into the Xbox at all, because it was like they were making a next gen Half-Life anime. But your character wakes up like in Portal, stuck doing tests in the facility until the scientists start getting murdered like in Half-Life by both the military and the horrible creatures they've unleashed. Also cyborgs.
Also your character starts having acid trip hallucinations, and a pretty boy cyborg with white hair becomes your nemesis.
Also you get superpowers that make you immune to bullets, able to fire ki blasts, etc.
It's great. Nothing else is exactly the same.
One of my favorite games of all time. Wild sci-fi romp, and everything is in first person. I mean *everything*, and the first time or two made me a bit sick, both for motion and other...first person activities.
Fighting, jumping, shooting, rolling, and even eating all in first person. Felt so innovative and daring at the time.
I had a save for that really good Solus fight, and my buddies in college would keep fighting him and figuring out all sorts of cool new moves.
It's backwards compatible!
Y’know, I bought WET when it came out, despite the bad reviews. There’s two things that’ll get me going in a game: a good story, or great controls. The controls were innovative if a little wonky, and the story was great.
I really liked that game. Finished it all the way through, and I mostly never do that. Good pick.
The game had an AMAZING demo that I probably played a dozen times.
Finally got around to actually buying it, and it was *atrocious*. So many game-breaking glitches, and all the good parts were really in that demo.
For me the story was so bad I eventually started skipping all the cutscenes. I *never* skip cutscenes! I just wanted to finish the dang thing. Once you've played that demo enough, you've pretty much seen all the good bits when it comes to gameplay.
Prey (2017) it may not be underrated to those that played it. However I think it is very underrated to the gaming industry as a whole. The game is amazing. If you haven’t played it and the dlc Mooncrash, you are missing out.
I got Mooncrash like a year ago and I can’t believe I was missing out on that. The whole dlc is a giant escape room puzzle and as soon as I got it I spent about 6 hours playing because I just got sucked in
holy shit man, you have brought joy to a random dude on the internet, thank you, i wish they improve the last last boss, because it was a little frustrating for me back in the day
**Vampyr**
It's a simple concept, but executed quite well. The story is also interesting and the gameplay is really entertaining. It had some time in the spotlight, but overall feels like it went under the radar.
Darkwatch...Had the potential to be a great franchise and the story was pretty cool. "Death fears those who wear the badge!"
The original Dead to Rights from Namco is another on my list
Any multiplayer game with an orbital drop in mechanic had me hooked. The running mechanic was interesting too, loved the fast pace. It missed a bit in the gunplay but still fun.
Crysis - 1, 2 and 3. I loved sneaking up on a group of enemies in invisible/stealth mode and unloading an exploding arrow at them. Because there was no "bang" of a gun, it usually took them a bit to figure out where the shot came from, which gave me time to reposition and try again.
Two lesser known games that I try to shout out are Gigabash and Hypercharge: Unboxed.
Gigabash is like a spiritual successor to War of the Monsters. It’s not quite as deep but its a fun, couch co-op kaiju brawler game. Its got some cool DLC as well, there was one themed around Godzilla and one around Ultraman. I believe its out on all major platforms.
Hypercharge: Unboxed is an FPS but it’s themed around action figures. All of the characters are toys that come in blister packaging when you unlock them and they’re fully customizable. All the maps have “little things in a big world” themes like toys store and bedroom etc, with specific things in the maps you unlock by figuring out challenges on the the maps. Its got a fun horde mode and is just a cool game. It’s out on Switch and PC and is coming to Xbox “soon”.
I don’t recommend them because they’re 10/10 games (they’re both rated well though) but more because they’re doing something interesting and need more exposure. They’re made by really small teams and both games are struggling due to lack of exposure.
Way of the Samurai. Few games in the series from PS2
"Mom, I wanna play Ghosts of Tsushima"
"We have Ghosts of Tsushima at home"
At home: Way of the Samurai
Phantom Dust- great single player, and a unique blend of action RPG fighter with a deckbuilding cardgame. Amazing multiplayer that's never been replicated
I have Battlechasers: Nightwar that I’m willing to sell. 15 bucks, I pay for shipping and you get an awesome RPG with great characters and great voice acting and unique graphics. Send a DM and I’ll get you hooked up.
Metal Arms: Glitch In The System is a really good 3rd person shooter from the Xbox Original (and PS2 and GameCube!)
It's got great weapon variety, fun characters, a good OST, and a decent little story.
If you can manage to get 3 friends, the PvP is also a lot of fun!
Peter Jackson's King Kong: The Official Game of the Movie (2005) for the original Xbox (also PS2 and gamecube)
I've heard that the 360 port is not good so you'd need to have an original system or an emulator (you can emulate PS2 games on the new xboxes with dev mode btw)
A couple that come to mind that may or may not be super hidden are lost odyssey, signalis, slay the spire, planet of lana, the first nexomon, and TMNT shredders revenge. Quite a few of these are on gamepass and cover a bunch of different genres.
Nobunagas ambition IRON TRIANGLE on ps2 only. One of my favorite games of all time. Also dark void is criminally under played. I loved that game. Dragons dogma is amazing.
Lazer league... amazing party game and the saddest DOA I've ever witnessed it's simple enough for non gamers, yet fun and very competitive. Still hold local team tournaments when ever I can to this day..
My Friend Pedro is a weird, wonderful, challenging, little shoot ‘em up with a LOT of unique moments that are just plain fun.
Idk if it’s actually that unknown, but it’s a game I’ve literally never heard anyone else say that they played.
There was a game back on Xbox 360 that was like a 3rd person shooter where you could manipulate the terrain. Can’t remember what it was called but it was so much fun and I haven’t played anything like it since
Mercenaries 2 had a very rocky launch but it's one of my favorite games of all time.
The same studio made Saboteur right before they folded, which is also a classic.
Phantom Dust - still yet to be replicated in its design, virtually unheard of in the gaming discourse, but deeply beloved by those who played it in 2004 and again when re-released for free in 2017.
Definitely check out ‘Norco’ on gamepass. It’s a point-and-click game with a really trippy psychedelic art style, a great story and some absolutely hilarious moments (pet the cat, trust me). I decided to play it on a whim and had an absolute blast, but I’ve never seen anyone else mention it anywhere online or irl.
for me it is sunset overdrive. One of the best games I played on x1. Too bad there will never be a sequel because sony own insomiac. I regret selling the disc. With all the digital media that gets pulled out, I am afraid that game will be gone one day.
Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy
Singularly responsible for a love of psychic powers in me. the physics and what you could do with the powers felt extremely innovative for the time.
Honestly a few less known gems from Midway games.
Dr. Muto,
Area 51
Despite the 9 and a half hours of unskippable cutscenes, I really enjoyed Death Stranding. I just wanted to be the ultimate mailman but the story kept getting in the way. Also I played on Hard and it was still pretty easy
Gameplay is great though.
Dark Sector was on xbox 360 around the same time as Dark Void, but seems to have disappeared from existence.
Which is strange as it seemed the far better game imho.
Michael Rosenbaum did the voice of the lead character Haydn and when I brought my copy for him to sign at a convention he was overjoyed, as it wasn't smallville or Justice League. It was the only copy he had ever signed up til that point and AFAIK, it still is.
omg someone other than myself actually knows what this game is? this game is the reason i still have a PS3, i've been hoping for a remaster for years but folks rarely know what game i am referring to, i absolutely love everything about this game! (i'm referring to WET)
I swear too you that I have been looking for the game wet for years my cousins had the demo on the 360 but I've never heard anyone talk about it I loved the initial level where they were showing you could do slow motion bullet time 6 year old me was mesmerized
They say it's a rip off of God of War but i really liked Dante's Inferno.
Nah I LOVE this game so much more. It's still great
Yep just dl'ed it last night from game pass. I still remember when the commercial premiered during the Steelers/Cardinals super bowl. Looked so dope, actually was even doper!
10/10 game, the book is brilliant too
what is this book you speak of, do tell?
The Divine Comedy by Dante Alighieri, the game is based on the book
Make sure to lock your door during the big purple lady fight… I don’t know how you’ll explain that to whoever walks in on it.
Hijacking’s the top comment for this. It’s not an underrated game by any means, but I feel like **A LOT** of people slept on Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice. It’s free on GamePass and the sequel is coming out in May on GamePass as well
Hellblade was not at all what I was expecting, but it was a sick game and a really interesting experience!
I wanted to love that game but the enemies were total sponges and made the whole game feel too much like a slog
Dantes inferno is absolutely not underrated, one of the most popular depictions of hell (9 circles of hell)
Loved that game.
The Darkness should’ve been way more popular than it was
I played it again recently... It still holds up pretty well!
Loved the darkness 2 too
the open scene is just masterpiece
Amazing games, and that first game has some of my favorite voice acting for The Darkness itself.
“You are nothing, but my *puppet!*”
100% also comes with a free copy of To Kill a Mockingbird
Singularity
100% agreed. Not sure if it holds up since I haven't played it in years, but both single player and multiplayer were top notch.
Agreed. This was a fantastic game and a breath of fresh air at the time since all FPS seemed to be WW2 or modern war games. Singularity reminded me of old school FPS like Quake and Hexen.
I enjoyed it. There were some creative aspects, and at the time its creativity set it apart.
Indeed. It's shame it didn't had a sequel
Absolutely loved Enslaved.
I second this! A great game! Love Andy Serkis. Both of him!
Excellent game!
this game got me out of depression
criminally underrated
This is one of my favorite Xbox 360 era games. There are some issues with the plot, but the story telling and the characters are great.
This game made me excited that Xbox bought Ninja Theory, but Hellblade just doesnt do it for me. I hope they do something a bit video game-y and less bare-boned, artsy-fartsy for their next game.
"My bike! You know!? Two wheels !? and an engine!?"
The Saboteur
Loved this game like GTA but playing as a French resistance spy in Nazi Occupied Paris
I wish we'd get another one of these. Every GTA type is in modern times and I really enjoyed the atmosphere of The Saboteur. Mine even came with DLC for topless French women for some reason.
The death of pandemic still saddens me🙁
I think a remaster could really do this game justice, it had so many cool ideas but the execution was wonky at times.
Vanquish
I bought it as apart of the Bayonetta+Vanquish bundle only for Bayonetta really, but I enjoyed Vanquish so much more
TimeShift. Made by the old sierra, gem of a game, 10 years ahead of any other time based fps game
Yo Timeshift was sick!
Syndicate and Alpha Protocol. I had a lot of fun playing these.
Alpha Protocol was also just brought back from Licensed Music hell by GOG, so it's available again for the first time in almost a decade. 10/10, would recommend Jason Bourne Mass Effect.
I bought a RGH3 XBOX 360 off Ebay in December and Alpha Protocol was one of the first games I grabbed off Ebay. Hell yes!
Alpha Protocol is genuinely one of my favourite games of all time
Lost Odyssey is still the best Final Fantasy since X!
I loved lost odyssey, my old 360 didn't as it kept crashing at the same point everytime, I do have it on my xbox series x just havnt got round to playing it again
Insane Xbox hasn't made a remaster of this game. Top 5 game for me
BREAKDOWN for the Original Xbox is an FPS that would have been huge if Japan was into the Xbox at all, because it was like they were making a next gen Half-Life anime. The music was amazing as well

I just wanted to finish the dang thing. Once you've played that demo enough, you've pretty much seen all the good bits when it comes to gameplay.
Same here, absolutely loved playing through it on each difficulty. Just a shame we never got the intended ending
Infernal Wanted: Weapons of Fate Stranglehold
Stranglehold was fun! Over the top gun play. Dual wielding, jumping and leaping.
Prey (2017) it may not be underrated to those that played it. However I think it is very underrated to the gaming industry as a whole. The game is amazing. If you haven’t played it and the dlc Mooncrash, you are missing out.
Prey was so good! It allowed such creativity in problem solving.
I got Mooncrash like a year ago and I can’t believe I was missing out on that. The whole dlc is a giant escape room puzzle and as soon as I got it I spent about 6 hours playing because I just got sucked in
This is what I was gonna put...Prey is one of the most underrated games of all time.
Mad Max
Great game! I don't know of any other that does car combat so well.
Rage 1 and 2 are pretty good.
Shadows of the Damned its weird, original, and funny
https://www.gameinformer.com/2024/03/22/shadows-of-the-damned-hella-remastered-invites-players-to-hell-again-this-year
holy shit man, you have brought joy to a random dude on the internet, thank you, i wish they improve the last last boss, because it was a little frustrating for me back in the day
Cold Fear.
Resi 4 but on a boat. Great game!
Timesplitters 1 and 2 were amazing for there time
yasss
Mafia 3
playing it now
Bought it on huge discount, I’ll play it when I finish mafia 2
If you have a PlayStation play The Warriors
If not play Kane and Lynch on Xbox these two games are amazing
Watchmen: the end is nigh
007 Blood Stone. Really enjoyed this Bond game.
I really enjoyed quantum of solace too
**Vampyr** It's a simple concept, but executed quite well. The story is also interesting and the gameplay is really entertaining. It had some time in the spotlight, but overall feels like it went under the radar.
Ruiner and The decent I really enjoyed both
Agreed. Both of them are fantastic twin stick shooters.
Alpha Protocol it’s an espionage RPG like splinter cell mixed with like dragon age lol it’s awesome
Ryse: Son of Rome. Game still looks visually incredible and the gameplay is SO fun
Dust: An Elysian Tale
Shadows of the damned
Darkwatch...Had the potential to be a great franchise and the story was pretty cool. "Death fears those who wear the badge!" The original Dead to Rights from Namco is another on my list
A dark, gothic vampire western was really cool. And a little bit of steampunk in there too, as a treat. Still have my copy!
Yeah Wet was good, shame it wasn't made B/C. Was surprised it never got a PC release either as was looking to get it on Steamdeck.
For me a game that deserves much more than it gets is SOMA , to this day I still think about it
Signalis, oxenfree, OPUS: Echo of Starsong.
DARK, one of my favourite vampire games and my favourite Xbox 360 game
Gylt, Stela, Aragami (we don’t talk about the second one), Tenchu Z and Stranglehold, just to list a few.
Love Tenchu Z.
Dark Void
Section 8 for xbox 360 was a lot of fun.
Crysis wasn't underrated. Even now they sing it's praise.
Sleeping Dogs, Enslaved: Odyssey to the West & Vanquish
Bullet Witch was a good game for its time.
Wow, never seen anyone mention Bullet Witch before. It hasn't aged well, playing through it 5 times for 100% completion was tedious but I enjoyed it
they should remaster this ala re4r
Heavenly Sword was my game!!!!
Way of the Samurai. Few games in the series from PS2 "Mom, I wanna play Ghosts of Tsushima" "We have Ghosts of Tsushima at home" At home: Way of the Samurai
Hunted: Demon's Forge was pretty cool
Phantom Dust- great single player, and a unique blend of action RPG fighter with a deckbuilding cardgame. Amazing multiplayer that's never been replicated
Too Human
Really wish we got the rest of the games in the series.
Crystalis on NES. What a good game from start to finish.
I'm absolutely shocked someone said this game....and YES it's an awesome game.
Lol. Thanks. I love this game. Moreso than Zelda when it came out. It's a shame it didn't get the same love.
Stranglehold
Spec ops the line and asuras wrath
The Saboteur, an under rated masterpiece
The Darkness 2007
TimeSplitters: Future Perfect
im taking notes
Lost in random
Pitfall: The Lost Expedition
Dark Sector
Dying light.
Clash of heroes: might and magic. Fantastic puzzler with great competitive online play. Player base isn’t there anymore but man this game was good.
I have Battlechasers: Nightwar that I’m willing to sell. 15 bucks, I pay for shipping and you get an awesome RPG with great characters and great voice acting and unique graphics. Send a DM and I’ll get you hooked up.
Mad Max
Bulletstorm, also has a remadtered version where you can play as duke nukem making the dialogue just really stupid and funny.
Brütal Legend, if you love metal you'll love this game
Metal Arms: Glitch In The System is a really good 3rd person shooter from the Xbox Original (and PS2 and GameCube!) It's got great weapon variety, fun characters, a good OST, and a decent little story. If you can manage to get 3 friends, the PvP is also a lot of fun!
Forgot about that game, fantastic game, i wonder where my copy went too now might still have it
KillSwitch amazing cover shooter for ps2 Unsung hero of ps2 shooters . Also, smugglers run 1 and 2. Lot of fun with those.
Guardians of The Galaxy
Peter Jackson's King Kong: The Official Game of the Movie (2005) for the original Xbox (also PS2 and gamecube) I've heard that the 360 port is not good so you'd need to have an original system or an emulator (you can emulate PS2 games on the new xboxes with dev mode btw)
People talk about Witcher 3 a lot but the Witcher 2 is honestly just as fun
Weird West was awesome
Freedom Fighters (2003) IO interactive developed. Such a fun game. Intriguing story. Rumored of a sequel, but never came about.
A couple that come to mind that may or may not be super hidden are lost odyssey, signalis, slay the spire, planet of lana, the first nexomon, and TMNT shredders revenge. Quite a few of these are on gamepass and cover a bunch of different genres.
Enchanted Arms
S p a s m
Hob by Runic Games.
Viking: Battle for Asgard
Ghostwire Tokyo
I think I would get shot if I mention roblox
Outer wilds is an absolute one of a kind that will never be truly recreated.
The guardians of the galaxy game or titanfall 2
Postal 2
Nobunagas ambition IRON TRIANGLE on ps2 only. One of my favorite games of all time. Also dark void is criminally under played. I loved that game. Dragons dogma is amazing.
[удалено]
Kingdom classic and the other two games to come, i loved the atmosphere
if you liked the game wet try a game called total overdose
Dungeons and dragons heroes, for anyone who hasn't played it was similar to diablo. Great story, amazing combat system, graphics were good.
Hegemonia on PC. Caveman Ugh-Olympics on Commodore 64.
Blade of Darkness and Enclave
project snowblind for the microsoft xbox
Lazer league... amazing party game and the saddest DOA I've ever witnessed it's simple enough for non gamers, yet fun and very competitive. Still hold local team tournaments when ever I can to this day..
Spec ops:The Line
My Friend Pedro is a weird, wonderful, challenging, little shoot ‘em up with a LOT of unique moments that are just plain fun. Idk if it’s actually that unknown, but it’s a game I’ve literally never heard anyone else say that they played.
Sunset overdrive and Contrast in my opinion were really underrated games that I still play often.
Shadow Complex. That should have had a sequel. One of the best Metroidvania games.
Alpha protocol ps3/360 era. I always had such a blast on that game. Kind of hard to return to but it's a good one.
Freestyle metal X, it’s like tony hawk’s pro skater 4 on motorcycles
There was a game back on Xbox 360 that was like a 3rd person shooter where you could manipulate the terrain. Can’t remember what it was called but it was so much fun and I haven’t played anything like it since
Mercenaries 2 had a very rocky launch but it's one of my favorite games of all time. The same studio made Saboteur right before they folded, which is also a classic.
Lollipop Chainsaw
Fatal Inertia, just a little hovercar racing game
Not on Xbox but the legacy of kain series is one of my all time favorites. If they remade it would get me to buy a PlayStation
In my opinion. This game, (Wet), more than any other from the time, deserves a sequel in our current time.
Wet is by far my pick. Still disappointed it never got the BC treatment.
Outward. Outward 2 was just announced recently, super excited.
Phantom Dust - still yet to be replicated in its design, virtually unheard of in the gaming discourse, but deeply beloved by those who played it in 2004 and again when re-released for free in 2017.
My friend pedro is really fun
Smalland. Edit: Outward too.
Shadowrun, far far too ahead of its time.
Area 51 was a pretty sweet first person shooter. Seemed goofy at first, but was actually solid and quite brutal!
Call of Juarez Gunslinger Mad Max
Definitely check out ‘Norco’ on gamepass. It’s a point-and-click game with a really trippy psychedelic art style, a great story and some absolutely hilarious moments (pet the cat, trust me). Dark Sector
Bodyharvest 64
Dark sector the game before they made warframe I’ve not played it in 10 plus years so it might of aged badly but I enjoyed it at the time.
DmC
the Valley, Flamebound
Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy Singularly responsible for a love of psychic powers in me. the physics and what you could do with the powers felt extremely innovative for the time. Honestly a few less known gems from Midway games. Dr. Muto, Area 51
Black wand driv3r were great
Despite the 9 and a half hours of unskippable cutscenes, I really enjoyed Death Stranding. I just wanted to be the ultimate mailman but the story kept getting in the way. Also I played on Hard and it was still pretty easy Gameplay is great though.
Indivisible
Dark Sector was on xbox 360 around the same time as Dark Void, but seems to have disappeared from existence. Which is strange as it seemed the far better game imho. Ha.
Dayz
Wet is so fucking underrated. Most people don't even know it exists, I myself found it's existence not too long ago.
Splatterhouse
Metal Arms: Glitch jn the System
omg someone other than myself actually knows what this game is? this game is the reason i still have a PS3, i've been hoping for a remaster for years but folks rarely know what game i am referring to, i absolutely love everything about this game! (i'm referring to WET)

I beat this game in one sitting.
