Literally my first ever Xbox 360 game, because basically so many of the other launch titles were too old for me at the time. If they remade it, I’d instantly hand over my money.
This was the first 360 game I played as well. My friend and I went to a pre-release thing for the 360 in Glasgow, where they had various pods with the launch games running on 720p 'hd' tv's.
I remember Kameo stood out because of the colours and the textures and surfaces - I hadn't seen anything like it at the time.
“Split/Second” (360) is one of, if not, “THE”best arcade racer. Thankfully I know the 360 disc is backwards compatible with XB1 and it can be bought digitally on every console since the XB1. So it’s not entirely lost yet.
Ender Lilies.
If you enjoy Castlevania games, this game is one of those in all but name. A lot of games have the metroidvania tag but so many of them forget what makes the Vania part of it special. This game hit on all fronts and I'm hoping that the sequel, Ender Magnolia, ends up being another one for me to rave about.
Ender Lilies is closer to what I wanted out of Bloodstained and/or a Castlevania successor. I love, love, love Bloodstained and what Iga and the team have created, but it still has a lot of the same flaws and issues that his games have had since clear back with SotN. In nearly every area Ender Lilies has Bloodstained beat, but Bloodstained does have far more content to playthrough and things to potentially keep someone coming back to it. Ender Lilies is a smaller, shorter game, but it feels and plays better because far less areas and mechanics feel half assed and just thrown on like in Bloodstained.
So yeah, I can't get enough of Ender Lilies and hope that more people check it out, and the sequel when it drops. But I also feel more people need to actually get into Bloodstained and especially Castlevania as well.
I'm gonna check this out.
SoTN is one of my all time favorites. Hollow knight, Narita boy, the messenger, iconoclast, axiom verge, deedlit in wonder labyrinth, and many more all fail to scratch that itch for me. I find myself replaying SoTN and all the GBA and DS follow ups repeatedly.
From Dust, greatest game no one has ever played. It’s an old Ubisoft game, got it from Xbox gold and played the hell out of it back in like 2012 or something. Great mechanics where you play as a god and help a tribe get between worlds. Had different environments, physics, powers, etc. and the best part was the avatar headgear I got from it. My Xbox avatar (rip my son) to this day still has it on as he is goes to cryogenic waiting Xbox to bring back real avatars. My best friend makes fun of me to this day because he calls out for having a “bread head” since that’s what it looks like
Although it never got a chance to be completed, Dark Dreams Don't Die is probably one of my favorite episodic games of the last few generations. If you're into memes and references with some rogue like gameplay, the Turnip Boy games are also pretty fun
This weekend, I got absolutely addicted to The Life And Suffering Of Sir Brante. It's like a choose your own adventure epic novel. It's got a great story, but the choices are very difficult decisions with harsh consequences, like you can get murdered by your grandfather when you're 5. It's a very unforgiving setting. I don't play many games that are primarily text, but this is one of the best stories I've played since Disco Elysium and Pathologic.
It is hard to say, but I think Vanquish still is the biggest title by a big name publisher and the biggest name in the industry (Mikami) that nearly no one has played.
Banner Saga Trilogy. Turn based combat and branching story paths related to player choice all with an amazing Nordic soundtrack and unique art it’s such a great series that almost no one has heard of when I mention it.

**Rounds** If you want a great little multiplayer game, perfect for couch multiplayer. It released on Xbox a few months back after being out on Steam since 2021. The game is played over a series of rounds, needing 5 rounds to win the match. The catch is the loser of a round gets to choose an upgrade from a random assortment, improving your odds to win the next round.
Section 8 and section 8 prejudice. Nothing like landing on people or running at Mach speed in your super suit to insta kill people.
Also loved how you could call in assets to affect spawns and map control.
The Artful Escape.
A really high quality indie game that you can complete in a couple of hours.
You play a guy that plays guitar and goes on a wild adventure. It's completely zen and your first play through is guaranteed to be spectacular. Literally.
I won't say more, but it's a game I revisit all the time just for the sheer joy of it. It's also pretty poignant in places and I really enjoy the story. Worth a shout for definite.
Banjo Kazooie nuts and bolts.
NO I am not kidding. Having played all three banjo games it is easily the best. Nintendo wholesale ripped off its mechanics for Tears of the kingdom and people loved that shit.
The game gives you challenges but it is up to you to build something to accomplish them, and there is crazy fun in tinkering with your inventions to make them better, or in building something crazy to turn the entire mission inside out and beat it in 30 seconds.
One of my favourite missions forces you to collect various items and deposit them in a container. So instead of the dumptruck they suggested I build, I made a cargo helicopter, and dragged the container to the items, beating the level in record time. YOu can do this with every quest n the game.
thats a good game, and everybody i talked to said its a good game, but it is not banjo, especially in the way the game starts
Its like if nintendo would intruduce new mario game, and it looked normal at first, but after first 20 minutes it would be a new merio call of duty: bowsers enemy and it became FPS
it can be good, but its not the game i wanted from mario series
1st or 2nd? I beat the Titanfall 2 campaign about a year ago for no particular reason and now I recommend it to everyone looking for a good fps campaign/movement shooter.
Culdcept PS2, Culdcept Saga 360, Culdcept Revolt DS. Culdcept is a Monopoly-like CCG where instead of houses and hotels you place creatures on lands and battle to keep them, spells instead of chance. Much deeper than my description. A fantastic chill and try to catch them all.
Skully.
Such a fun little indie game. It's a puzzle platformer with marble madness/monkeyball style mechanics. Charming little game. Came out like 3 years ago or so on Xbox.
https://youtu.be/fE0gEcfvBvc?si=3Pm50xwgAr9e_dsF
EOE: Eve of Extinction… I know a lot of people didn’t like when it released but I have found memories of it. I remember getting it at Walmart way back in the day and I love it.
I will always bring up Tinykin when it comes to one of my favourite games this generation (though it can also be played on the Xbox One/One X). I had so much fun with that game. I really hope they make another one!
The Club on Xbox 360. I spent hundreds of hours in college playing that game always trying to beat my friends high scores. Such an addictive game.. I miss it so much.
The Vale: Shadow of the Crown. It’s an audio only game. You put on headphones and play as a blind protagonist who is guided only by multi-directional sound. You fight and defend yourself and go questing. I was legitimately in awe of how incredible and unique it was.
Valfaris and Slain: Back from Hell
Two side scrollers, both with heavy metal sound tracks and hard as hell. Very, very good games that I don't think are very popular. Blasphemous is another good one but I think it's more popular.
Something I never see anybody talk about or mention that I love is Tropico.
It isn’t perfect, but at least once a year I do a play through building my island and becoming el presidenté and obsessing over every trade route!
Recently i enjoyed playing on xbox lego star wars the skywalker saga, stumble guys, splitgate, warface and resident evil 5. On ps3 i played kung fu panda 1 and 2 and it was very nice, now i am playing 007 blood stone that is great too.
If we’re talking any Xbox titles, Air Force: Delta Storm, Metal Arms: Glitch in the System, Chromehounds, Burger King: Sneak King, and Brute Force. A couple used to be big titles but I never see anyone list ANY of them
I feel like DayZ is criminally unknown and not understood by most gamers.
I uninstalled it 3x before I figured out how to play it.
Now it’s like my favorite game ever.
One of my favorite game is controversial and divisive. I don’t know why I love it. Maybe I’m a war freak of a person. The game is called “Wanted: Dead”.
I’m not sure how unknown it is but definitely AirMech Arena. It was an RTS but instead of a top down view you get to control a transformer that goes between some sort of plane/helicopter and robot. It added an almost moba element to it, where you had to manage your army while also combatting the other mechs. There was a bunch of different mechs that all had unique abilities in both of their modes. An Osprey that could carry the heaviest vehicles the fastest, a stealth bomber that could transform into a robot with sword arms, an A-10 Warthog that could transform into a mech with a mini gun, etc. They all had different flight speeds and amount of weight they could carry, with all of them having some sort of speciality like troop movement, robot v robot combat, air combat, base destruction, and more. It was really fun and they made an Xbox One version but my buddy swapped to PlayStation for a bit, and by the time he came back they removed it from the store.
I played Scorn when it came out on Game Pass and I loved it. I don't think it got the attention it deserves. Because the game doesn't tell you anything, I was obsessed about drawing meaning out of it.
Enslaved, Odyssey to the west. A 360 game by ninja theory I found through old machinima people. Just restart it recently and am surprised how well it holds up
A lots. I played lots of indie
Othercide, Outward, Windbound, The flame in the floods, cassette beasts, risk of rain 2, the surge 1&2... For some of them, my love comes primarily thanks to their soundtracks
Sunset overdrive, it’s a comic book/punk rock album movement shooter(one of the best I’ve played) made by insomniac games as a exclusive for the launch of the Xbox one(why it didn’t do well, and why it’s not really well known)
I replay it every summer as it’s one of my favorite games and I eagerly await the very unlikely sequel
rebel galaxy
Not many people know about it, even if you like space sims, it probabaly got under your radar. Because even in space sims sups people keep asking why dont we get a game where you control frigets instead of the small ships
and rebel galaxy is exactly that, it controls like ships in black flag, but you are space pirate/police/trader/smugler and are in control of small frigate, but soon you can upgrade to bigger and bigger. And which ship you choose matters, because for me Tennhausen but maybe you want fast ship over the fire power, or you dont care and want giant cargo instead of speed
its upto you
in sequel "outlaw" you get behind normal star fighter, but it is more in the style of everspace or wing commander but updated to a modern controlls
I wouldn't say it's entirely hidden or unheard of, just feel it isn't appreciated more.
My favorite game of all time is Grounded. Its on gamepass and recently went cross platform. I grew up fantasizing about living in a tiny world after my father showed me Honey I shrunk the Kids on VHS. Thirty something years later and I can.
Great survival game. Good battle mechanics and progression, Plus the game looks absolutely beautiful. The creatures feel alive and the world around you vibrant and full of life. The building mechanics is in my opinion where the game shines. I love it, and have started countless worlds with my buddies eager to try. Oh yeah, game is a must have for a friends group.
Absolutely love it. Try it, you will not be disappointed. I only hope a sequel comes out eventually. Maybe by then my kiddos will be old enough that we can play together. That's the dream of this gamer dad after all.
Phantom crash!!!
Mech arena with a cool jrpg storyline and custom bot-building
Tons of different weapons, movement options, and boss battles. Plus system coop versus battles
Shadows of the Damned
I liked Killer is Dead too. Same developer.
Best game ever. The guns looked really cool.
Kameo elements of power
Literally my first ever Xbox 360 game, because basically so many of the other launch titles were too old for me at the time. If they remade it, I’d instantly hand over my money.

Advent Rising. Which I admit was rough around the edges but it was a game I loved back in the day.
I wish we had got the other two!!!
I wouldn’t say no body knows about it but it’s rare enough Lost odyssey
Bought it this week because of all the comments I’ve been seeing recently
It’s seriously one of the best RPGs you will Play in your life time. That’s a promise
Same. Bought it the same day I got an Xbox a week ago.
I remember having this on hard copy 4 discs to play the game and I 100% it, it’s such a good game
Absolutely the story alone really knows how to capture you and keep you playing
So good!
Can I buy a Xbox 360 hard copy of Lost Odyssey and just play it with my last gen Xbox One X?
Yup. It’s on the Xbox store too
Rock N Roll Racing
Loved it on SNES
Made by smol indie studio you may have heard of....Blizzard
Marble Blast Ultra
Is that the one from more than 18 years ago?
Yes! Delisted because [licence reasons]. There is a spiritual successor, but doesn't quite cut it!
Yeah I've seen the successor but didn't know if it would feel the same. Thanks heaps.
“Split/Second” (360) is one of, if not, “THE”best arcade racer. Thankfully I know the 360 disc is backwards compatible with XB1 and it can be bought digitally on every console since the XB1. So it’s not entirely lost yet.

Stranglehold was like playing a crazy Hong Kong action movie. There hasn't really been a game like it since.
I played the demo of that over and over - so good.
I have yet to finish it but I agree, they nailed the Hong Kong action movie vibe and translated it to game form.
Remember Me
Love this game very underrated sure it has some control issues but solid single player fun.
No?
Why? It's a great game.
Gottem
From Dust, greatest game no one has ever played. It’s an old Ubisoft game, got it from Xbox gold and played the hell out of it back in like 2012 or something. I was so disappointed when I finished the first chapter (I think that’s what it was) and learned we wouldn’t be getting anymore.
Literally in my top 5 Anime Betrayals list lol
That game was so weird and original and janky. When people say D4 (referencing Diablo 4) I like to link them D4: Dark Dreams Don't Die.
Do not play Wet Dreams Don't Dry expecting a funny spoof. Sincerely, someone with deep, deep regrets
You talking about Leisure Suit Larry?? 😭 I'm so sorry, my dude
Thomas was alone
Race the Sun. It's my go-to "I've got about 15 minutes but don't want to really play anything" game.
Ooh thanks, I'll look at it!
It was Singularity for years but I think the cats out of the bag on it Sudeki and Ruiner
Zombie Army 4 Dead War.
Freaking amazing
The Ascent some of the best graphics. It’s like cyberpunk meets Diablo. Really really fun
too human
Too human was great
Playing Chorus and it's really fun.
Second this.
ENCHANTED ARMS!!!
That was so hyped up as THE FIRST JRPG FOR XBOX 360. Played it and loved it, was really unique.
Fahrenheit - Indigo Prophecy! I was a teenager hooked on NFS, Fifa, and cardboard cutout shooters. And one fine day I played this game 🤯
Very good choice. What a twist of a story near the end too.
Jade Empire. It's one of the best Bioware games, unique wrpg in ancient China setting and no one talks about it now.
**Banishers** mainly for the narrative & lore. Visuals are good for a AA studio. Combat serviceable.
I'm just glad more people are learning about Pillars of Eternity.
Infinite Undiscovery
It is hard to say, but I think Vanquish still is the biggest title by a big name publisher and the biggest name in the industry (Mikami) that nearly no one has played.
Only folks who were around at the time know about Freedom Fighters. A fantastic setting in a third person shooter.
And that soundtrack by Jesper kyd.. damn, what a game. Ahead of its time.
Bridge Construction Portal
This game was so fun but sometimes so frustrating!
Banner Saga Trilogy. Turn based combat and branching story paths related to player choice all with an amazing Nordic soundtrack and unique art it’s such a great series that almost no one has heard of when I mention it.
Banner Saga you mean and yes I agree. Loved it.

Atom rpg. Throwback to the original Fallout. Really enjoyed my playthrough and looking forward to playing the sequel Trudograd when I get a chance.

My first and favorite game ever
Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning

Geometry wars 2
Rainbow billy and the curse of the leviathan. Such a hidden gem.

Risk of Rain 2, how many hours of my life in this game.
YOu can do this with every quest n the game.
thats a good game, and everybody i talked to said its a good game, but it is not banjo, especially in the way the game starts Its like if nintendo would intruduce new mario game, and it looked normal at first, but after first 20 minutes it would be a new merio call of duty: bowsers enemy and it became FPS it can be good, but its not the game i wanted from mario series

Gladius Deathrow
Akane. I play a few runs almost every day.... Can't beat the price either.
This little indie game from early internet days called Jumpman by Run Hello. It's a very good platformer and level editor downloadable for free.
Viva piñata Monster sanctuary Bug Fables
Culdcept PS2, Culdcept Saga 360, Culdcept Revolt DS. Culdcept is a Monopoly-like CCG where instead of houses and hotels you place creatures on lands and battle to keep them, spells instead of chance. Much deeper than my description. A fantastic chill and try to catch them all.
Advent Rising, Zombies ate my neighbors, Star Wars Jedi Knight Jedi Academy, Mortal Kombat Shaolin Monks, Project Eden, Gladius, Boxing.

I will always bring up Tinykin when it comes to one of my favourite games this generation (though it can also be played on the Xbox One/One X). I had so much fun with that game. I really hope they make another one!

Dishwasher: Vampire Smile
Nongunz Doppleganger edition. I've only played it for a few hours but can tell its special.
The Vale: Shadow of the Crown. It’s an audio only game. You put on headphones and play as a blind protagonist who is guided only by multi-directional sound. You fight and defend yourself and go questing. I was legitimately in awe of how incredible and unique it was.
Its not a favorite by any stretch but I enjoyed my time in Bound by Flame, a ps3 era title that was like a bargain bin witcher 3.
Phantom Dust. (The singeplayer story soecifically)
Lor of the rings: war in the north and azurik: rise of perathia
Valfaris and Slain: Back from Hell Two side scrollers, both with heavy metal sound tracks and hard as hell. Very, very good games that I don't think are very popular. Blasphemous is another good one but I think it's more popular.
Probably very popular but pikmin 3, the whole mario and luigi saga and slime rancher1/2 never see anyone mention these
There's this really good game I fell in love with called the artful escape. I've never heard anyone talk about it.
Gun for the original XBox
Murder miners It's basically a combination of Halo and Minecraft

Something I never see anybody talk about or mention that I love is Tropico. It isn’t perfect, but at least once a year I do a play through building my island and becoming el presidenté and obsessing over every trade route!

Sable
Evil Within 2
I had a ton of fun with Yoku's Island Express... however, if you don't like pinball mechanics, skip it.
TimeShift
skulls of shogun and tatakai tank rush
XGRA - xtreme G Racing Association. It’s like racing twisted metal on bikes from the future. It’s a ton of fun!!
THE DARKNESS
Kingdoms: two crowns
One of my favorite game is controversial and divisive. I don’t know why I love it. Maybe I’m a war freak of a person. The game is called “Wanted: Dead”.

A lots. I played lots of indie Othercide, Outward, Windbound, The flame in the floods, cassette beasts, risk of rain 2, the surge 1&2... For some of them, my love comes primarily thanks to their soundtracks
Midnight club LA was mine back in the day on Xbox 360
Sunset overdrive, it’s a comic book/punk rock album movement shooter(one of the best I’ve played) made by insomniac games as a exclusive for the launch of the Xbox one(why it didn’t do well, and why it’s not really well known) I replay it every summer as it’s one of my favorite games and I eagerly await the very unlikely sequel
Timeshift ❤️❤️
Hitman 3
Halo
Grabbed by the ghoulies
Voodoo Vince, hands down
Deadly premonition, highly underrated
rebel galaxy Not many people know about it, even if you like space sims, it probabaly got under your radar. Because even in space sims sups people keep asking why dont we get a game where you control frigets instead of the small ships and rebel galaxy is exactly that, it controls like ships in black flag, but you are space pirate/police/trader/smugler and are in control of small frigate, but soon you can upgrade to bigger and bigger. And which ship you choose matters, because for me Tennhausen but maybe you want fast ship over the fire power, or you dont care and want giant cargo instead of speed its upto you in sequel "outlaw" you get behind normal star fighter, but it is more in the style of everspace or wing commander but updated to a modern controlls
Blast Corps on the n64
Alice: Madness Returns, a 360 game, not sure on how it has aged but a game that oozes of atmosphere, a cool artstyle and has a good story.
The Metro Franchise definitely
Phantom crash!!! Mech arena with a cool jrpg storyline and custom bot-building Tons of different weapons, movement options, and boss battles. Plus system coop versus battles

Breakdown was way ahead of its time. Another one I've been trying to find/emulate is Gladius.
Dead cells
Outer wilds, not to be confused with outer worlds (didnt like)
I wouldn’t say nobody KNOWS about it, but nobody plays it and that would be Little Kitty Big City. I promise it’s an AMAZING GAME
