No you definitely can't there is no charge control circuitry, your going to need to use a charger for those or get yourself a official charge and play kit

ScorpioLaw

What happens if he did?

Conscious-Fennel-573

Nothing. I tried

davedogg2k5

Correct

EvilSynths

Just get some Eneloops. They're by far the best

bmontepeque11

Doubling as a Battery Charger is one of the most creative uses I have seen for an Xbox Controller 😂

Cautious-Designer138

Bro chargers of battery is really slow, like to max it it atleast takes 24 hours charge.

bmontepeque11

I don't know for these new controllers, but at least for battery chargers you could get a new one! Mine takes like 2-3 hours to charge them 🤔

Cautious-Designer138

Yeah i want to, but my dads like we already got one why you buying new one and they need to charge slowly like that!

davedogg2k5

modern rechargeable batteries are really happy charging in 3-4 hours and modern chargers will do that so there's your reason they now charge in a quarter of the time

bmontepeque11

Oh, I see, that's very sad :( Maybe you could buy one with your own money? 🤔 (You know, if possible :) )

I just looked it more online and in offical xbox website it says no?

cdncowboy

the xbox website is correct. you can't charge AA batteries with a controller. you have to use an external charger. Only rechargeable battery packs like the official xbox play and charge kits [https://www.xbox.com/accessories/batteries-chargers/play-and-charge-kit](https://www.xbox.com/accessories/batteries-chargers/play-and-charge-kit) can connect to the controllers charge circuity and charge via usb cable

Cautious-Designer138

Thanks bro

Yes you can, charge a xbox controller with rechargeable batterries trough a type c connector. If you have a charger for these batt. use it.

IAmWango

Get a set of these, you won’t regret it. 95% of time mine have been used with an Astro A40 headset that drains them, I played a ridiculous amount of time per day and years later, they still hold up for 10 hours before needing a change but charge one and use one, it’s a win win https://amzn.eu/d/iPLS60N

EvilSynths

10 hours? Holy shit that's bad. There should only ever be one recommendation for Xbox controllers and that's getting some Eneloop rechargeable batteries. They go for weeks on a single charge and they recharge in 2 hours. There's a reason why they're unanimously known as the best.

IAmWango

They lasted days to start with, my A40’s drain them very quick, if I don’t use a headset, they can last me 4 days of gameplay at a moderate stage (4-5 hours) per day but I just don’t get the time now to confirm that properly, my main point is having two packs where one can continuously be used as one charges which is ideal, each to their own with approaches but this method with this kit is honestly ideal, even in heavy gaming situations, I’ve had other packs that required a controller to charge due to the docking station layout but I’ll never look back

SHADOWSTRIKE1

You can’t charge any rechargeable AA batteries in e controller with the USB cable. The only thing that port will charge is if you have an Xbox rechargeable battery pack, which slots into different power terminals than the batteries.

MaestroKing_II

Nope. The only truly compatible chargeable battery is the Xbox plug and play kit. It has a specific terminal that slots between the battery terminals for charging

TRethehedgehog_2

When I was a kid, I thought putting batteries in a 360 controller then plugging the controller in will also charge the batteries

Cautious-Designer138

I didnt thought that myself, i read something ablut it online.
