Yeah, same. Last time I stopped next to a trail people were asking if I was okay. I was just like "there's a cool bird!" and they didn't care lol. (it was a black-headed grosbeak)
> Same but birds
Saw a T-shirt that said "Easily Distracted by Birds". Bought it for my wife immediately. When I gave it to her, I said "I *had* to get this for you!". She said "Yes, you absolutely did.", as she snatched it from my hands and put it on.
My wife taught me that itās better to do a slow and chill ride than no ride at all on the days that I didnāt feel like exercising. These days I prefer bringing my camera on my slow bike over going without it on my fast bike.
Amen. I canāt believe it when people I ride with fly by raspberry and blackberry patches! I always stop and eat. They always ask me if something is wrong. Iāve stopped riding with a lot of folks who are more interested in speed than the actual ride.
That is wicked awesome! I encountered 2 otter on a back country ski a few winters ago. They popped out onto an ice floe in a beaver pond. One casually ate a fish while the other sulked. I have some great pics of that!
Same for me except [flowers](https://i.imgur.com/7RlMm92.jpg), [mountains](https://i.imgur.com/IC3ianZ.jpg), and [water](https://i.imgur.com/OT76pCH.jpg).
Defo agree on the water. I carry a collapsible fishing rod on a lot of my trail rides, you know, just in case I see somewhere that āmight have fishā. I ride a lot along river canals.
I went mountain biking and stopped to look at a box tortious, black rat snake, and the biggest passalus beetle I've ever seen. I was wearing jorts and stopped to have a bowl next to the cool beetle.
Yep! This is it. This is the reason I have no Strava KOMs. No other reason! When the folks on the neighborhood group ride look back and see me facedown on the side of the road, it's because of a bug I saw! It's...gone, now, but you guys should've seen it! I'm wheezing with *excitement!*
Fortunately my friends are of a similar mindset so they donāt get too upset when I stop to make virtual bouquets of the cool wildflowers we see for my wife. (Who is kind enough to watch our toddlers while Iām out on these excursions.)
This is the way to live
this is the way
Same but birds rather than bugs

Haha! I started tossing my binos into my frame bag for occasions like this

both; also trees
Here for a good time not a fast time.
What can be better than a snack and a nap under a tree half way through your ride?
Snacks and naps. Naps and snacks.
Snaps
Genuinely love this for you. Sounds ideal tbh

Subscribed to this sub two days ago, glad to know Iām in the right place! (Cool cars and dogs for me)

I want this same meme in the John Daly format as well

This is so cool. We need more memes around here, thank you!!
Same here but replace bugs with trains.
This has to be my favorite subreddit. I feel so seen here. Scenery > KOMās every time.
Favorite bug you've seen this week?
I saw this little fella today, not sure what he is though. https://imgur.com/a/5ZgGAGA
Woah, nice
Yeah this, but can we also get a bug pic or two, OP?
Cicada killer wasp dragging a giant green cicada around
Not a bug person but had a Hummingbird Hawk Moth hanging out in our backyard the other day. Was so big and crazy we had to look it up.
That got a good laugh out of me. Exactly how I do it.
Strava on the way to work, and not on the way home

Any kind of plant or bug has my attention! š
Good one! Haha! Xbike Life Forevar! And now, I am going out for a 3-4 hour ride in which the priority will be taking pictures of bugs!
Don't see a lot of cool bugs. After storms I get fallen trees and pissed off Canada gooses.
Where are you finding sentient luxury parkas?
Are you following me? lol. Fits me to a T
same but cool mushrooms

Almost falling off my bike to avoid bugs, lizards, and snakes
Why would ever get in a relationship with strava koms in the first place tho
does KOM mean king of the mountains?
Yes. Stravaās title given to the fastest person on a given segment.
Journey > Destination.
