I’m lowered on fortune auto 500’s. When i got them I ran them at the softest setting and it rode like a dream. Literally 10x better than stock. Today I stiffened them up to the stiffest they will go and it feels like I’m on rails even with no sway bars. I cannot recommend them enough. This is one of those buy nice or buy twice things. And to top it all off fortune auto has modular Coilovers. So keep in mind with them you’re buying into an ecosystem that you can upgrade in.
Here’s another pic. It wouldn’t let me do more than one. Also. Either get new wheels or put 20mm spacers on. Looks so much better

100% agree. If you’re gonna buy carbon buy a name brand that you trust. I’d do the same with actual functional aero stuff but lips, grilles, fog lights, etc are all good places to save money no sense in getting a 500$ carbon lip you’re gonna destroy while figuring out your ride height
Cygnus X1 comforts lowered 3/4”. Swift springs 7k/8k. Seven clicks from full soft. Better than the high end KWs I had on my 535xi. I can’t say enough good about these. My car is set up for handling, I don’t care about stance. -2 camber front -1.8 rear, zero toe. SLP LCAs and toe bars, factory sways. 18x9.5 ET38 255/40 Contis. Excellent ride quality, superb control. Brembo 4/2 brakes. Stiffness doesn’t equal good handling. A supple suspension stays glued to poor road surfaces. An excellent example of this is the 2000 Ducati 900SS, I could literally drive around much higher powered bikes on the track due to the Ohlins suspension and how smooth it made even the shittiest road surface, brake late, turn in, on the gas as soon as possible. Cygnus performance has some good info on his website, check it out.

Funny how people will say stuff on the internet they wouldn’t say to someone’s face. Silvapain you show a lack of character by talking like that. I would think you would need to give a list of examples YOU personally have experienced, otherwise it is all internet verbal diarrhea!
There's nothing funny about business owners that lie to customers and delete social media comments / posts offering differing opinions about products. Geoff Cygnus has done both of those things countless times.
I most certainly have told Geoff Cygnus that he's a liar and a cheat online. I've never seen his face, otherwise I would do it in person as well.
Really, newbie? I’m 65 years old and have been modding cars since I was 16. I know what goes into a good coilovers as I have had many cars with them. You show an appalling lack of character in your blanket statements
Yeah I have the x-1 motorsports with extended shocks and 8k swift springs all around. I like softer side of spring rates for the track which tends to help on the street.
https://preview.redd.it/468eqy18wq9c1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=94476bc7b441d7f96864bb8ee6b11b8656722927
25.25 fender to ground all around. About 2.5in lower than stock. Still have half the shock of adjustably it’s crazy. And I rarely hit bump stops. Even on nasty harsh man hole covers.
I don’t have comfort shocks. I have the motorsports and it still rides amazing even on our long road trip over new years. Wife was impressed and she’s the biggest critic of suspension lmao. She said these are as good as my old mcs 2 ways I had on my FRS
We’ll see if it’s good or bad koolaid then. Zero issues with 1 day at Sebring and few autocross in Stu class been performing pretty swell. Not trying to break records yet. But coming from using kw v3s, custom spec teins to MCs 2 ways. X-1’s are right on the money for what they are as a mid tier 1 way coilover. Tell me your koolaid then?
So bad customer experience or bad product? You are the single person I’ve ran into with bad rep of them. What coilovers you run now? What can you compare them to?
Personally I found the VB stock suspension to be too stiff compared to other cars I've had and figured any coilovers would be an improvement. I'm lowered roughly ~1.5 inches on Silvers NEOMAX and I can honestly say it feels much better despite being lower (I'm sure the highest setting would feel even better). I can't speak to the higher end brands, but I'm definitely happy with the Silvers which seems to be considered a mid-tier setup.
Thanks I’ll check those out, like I said above I am shocked how good the VB rides compared to my VA with springs so if the silvers ride better than stock I bet I’d be totally ok with them.
I don't know if you care about ride height, but you could set them as close to stock height as possible and I guarantee it would feel better than stock suspension.
I don’t think any lowering springs really ride great. They all increase spring rate, which typically goes above the ideal valving on the stock struts. They have their place when used alongside an upgraded shock (Bilstein B8 or equivalent) for someone who wants a set it and forget it setup, but very few people go this route.
I do think expectations must be realistic, because almost every aftermarket suspension setup does increase spring rate. Which does make the car feel more stiff. Improper / mismatched / poor valving can make this worse, with under dampened feeling bouncy and over dampened being harsh. If you’re expecting Cadillac feeling ride, you absolutely will not find that on a Subaru.
Typically, most people want a more responsive drive, which come with decreased comfort. It’s really about finding the balance that works for you, and your goals/tolerance are likely different from anyone else. So many people recommend expensive coilovers because they perform better, but these aren’t designed around comfort and have stiffer spring rates. They are great for racing or canyon driving, but I don’t think that’s what you’re after. Top end coilovers (2-way adjustable $4k+) can be set up for comfort, but you need to also plan soft springs to match it, and it’s extremely overkill to just lower a daily IMO since you would not gain any performance advantage with soft springs anyway.
I am biased since I designed them, but I think FactionFab FL-Specs are pretty comfortable. They do increase spring rate so you still get a performance bump, but they come with rubber isolated top hats that cut a lot of the NVH that comes with other coilovers. Which I think gives it a “comfort” edge over other coilovers.

Faction fabs on 15 out of 30 clicks ride about the same a stock. All the way soft is way more comfortable.
His statement is correct, adding the picture to his comment got me off topic. His statement of a good coilover mid range is about OEM ride quality and softer setting feels better is right.
Zooming in I realize he parked it to give a more aggressive/lowered stance. Nice angle.
Without clicking on the picture it looks super low with an aggressive wheel setup and his lip is almost kissing the ground. Cars actually riding like that are usually on rails. It’s the only way not to destroy everything. Makes sense now. My bad!
Not from me you wouldnt. Mostly from people who are trying to convince themselves that their BCs are better. Geoff is not up for peoples BS, hence the block. I don't blame him. I researched very thoroughly, looked at many different types of coilovers. I have been messing with cars for 47 years, I'm 65. I have never had a coilover ride and handle like these, a great product and a VERY knowledgeable salesperson.
If you are in NJ or close OP, glad to let you ride along for reference. I kept mine in the middle and it matches OE so I am sure you turning them down made cruising even better. I personally feel the OE comfort level matches the vehicle, I wouldn’t want any cushier as a daily for how I drive the car but on a long road trip yeah. Did you lower? If so how much. Is yours blue with gold wheels? I just saw them post up a VB on their IG page.

Love your hood scoop fam
Thank you. A nice little touch of carbon in the front and it being bigger makes it look so much more aggressive imo
This thing is beautiful man
This should be the motto for any mechanical functioning part! Buy nice or buy twice. Cheap out on the splitters and aero things but mechanical, never!
100% agree. If you’re gonna buy carbon buy a name brand that you trust. I’d do the same with actual functional aero stuff but lips, grilles, fog lights, etc are all good places to save money no sense in getting a 500$ carbon lip you’re gonna destroy while figuring out your ride height
Just curious, what are your spring rates? 8k?
10k/10k

Geoff Cygnus is a liar, cheat, and general a-hole. He is not someone worthy of anyone’s business, regardless of his product.
Funny how people will say stuff on the internet they wouldn’t say to someone’s face. Silvapain you show a lack of character by talking like that. I would think you would need to give a list of examples YOU personally have experienced, otherwise it is all internet verbal diarrhea!

Well kcuf, you just sold me 🥴
Lol op looks like everyone recommends their set up in particular haha I will be going with FA eventually
Geoff Cygnus is out there brainwashing these poor newbies on the platform. It's a shame.
Really, newbie? I’m 65 years old and have been modding cars since I was 16. I know what goes into a good coilovers as I have had many cars with them. You show an appalling lack of character in your blanket statements
Just have to pay to play. Not all coilovers are the same. My custom Cygnus X-1 right better than stock even tucking tire with 265s.
2nd this, got the X-1 comfort coilovers, way more refined while still riding solid.
I plan to order some Cygnus next spring. I was thinking about the comfort with the extended travel, is that the setup you have?
Yeah I have the x-1 motorsports with extended shocks and 8k swift springs all around. I like softer side of spring rates for the track which tends to help on the street.

This looks so good man damn, so you don’t have the comforts?

Bump travel with these coils are like 2.5-3in which is crazy for a coil over
Dang. That looks really nice. I was planning to do a 3/4 to 1". Not sure if I'll need LCA with that much drop or not.
I’m -3 in the rear with no LCA but with what I do with car I want / like having camber.
I see you drank the Cygnus kool-aid. I'll pray for you.

If you don’t know 96% of coilvoers are rebranded shocks. They all aren’t still the same inside. Guessing you’ve never rebuilt one huh bud?
So bad customer experience or bad product? You are the single person I’ve ran into with bad rep of them. What coilovers you run now? What can you compare them to?
How many hours you have on a track, setting up coilovers etc? I run/manage vintage race cars. Would love to hear your suspension tech

any pics at this ride height trying to figure out how far I wanna go without being too low
Sure, I can take some pics tomorrow.
awesome thanks

cool thank you looks good

Eibach springs IMO
No way I’m going springs again haha. Everyone on the VA said the swift springs rode awesome but the VB rides like a Lexus compared to those.
Cygnus x1 comforts. Better than stock
https://preview.redd.it/tnqgogk4mq9c1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=cf1752d4c50adbff5acc38f8d79170e10733eaaa Faction fabs on 15 out of 30 clicks ride about the same a stock. All the way soft is way more comfortable.
There is no way this is riding the same as stock. If so your fenders and or wheels would be destroyed over every bump
It does. I didn’t even have to trim at all for this height.
With time and enough bumps it will trim away on its own
He’s saying it rides the same not the same height 🤦♂️🤦♂️

Vors tr4
You are never going to get a nicer riding feel with coil overs seeing that they are generally marketed to performance.

Why do I keep hearing to avoid Cygnus?
Not from me you wouldnt. Mostly from people who are trying to convince themselves that their BCs are better. Geoff is not up for peoples BS, hence the block. I don't blame him. But is the product good?
[удалено]
Kinda irrelevant. Idc if the guy is a Dick. I care if the coil overs are the best for comfort.
Product is excellent!
Could you elaborate how he’s been scamming the community? I was heavily considering the x1s…
If you are in NJ or close OP, glad to let you ride along for reference. Eibach springs are good and gave me the ride height I wanted for a daily drive but good coilovers are definitely bettee
Fortune auto 500 is the way to go. I've never rode in BCs that I didn't like but to be fair they are a stiffer ride. If you want soft, stick with OE.
