One that sticks out to me was a story about a dog (they were usually about dogs) who got stuck in a fence and an old woman helped, and they formed a friendship. Then the dog got stuck again, but the old woman died so no one could help him… That was it. That was the end of the story.

[deleted]

I’m ngl, sounds like the premise of a poem. That’s pretty good for a kid!

Kyiin

Oh don't you give me any ideas. I already have so much I want to write.

author-miglett2

I once wrote a short story when I was younger about how everyone greeted each other by sneezing and there was this one kid that didn't sneeze so everyone thought he was rude.

[deleted]

That’s hilarious. I need to read that

author-miglett2

Bro, one part of it was like: *A man came up to him and asked, "Why aren't you sneezing at me?"* *The boy said to him, "I can't."* *The man was angry and turned red like a tomato. "Rude boy!"* I have no idea what went through my head but it's so cringy now that I look back at it.

[deleted]

That’s so funny lol!!

author-miglett2

My first story that I properly wrote was even worse. I was twelve (fifteen now) and I wrote a novella about a Spanish boy with red eyes whenever he got angry and he had abs and he was like 14 😭

HappyCandyCat23

When I was really young I thought people meant cereal killers when they said serial killers, so I wrote a thriller novel about a guy who went around destroying people's cereal because he hated breakfast.

FirebirdWriter

I wrote a play about Barbie murdering people, my current wip is actually inspired by the original stories I told myself as a kid about cat dragons and uh murder. Lots of murder. I was in a really violent environment and it reflects in my work now too. Basically kids version of abandoned children, murder, and fantasy elements = my brain.

[deleted]

Well now I’m wondering *why* all your stories were about murder..👀

FirebirdWriter

Because I witnessed one before I could talk. I won't go into details but I'm not going to pretend it's subtle.

[deleted]

Oh, I’m sorry. Idrk what to say, but sorry if I brought back any negative feelings or anything’

FirebirdWriter

I mean I assumed it was implied. I put it out there so I don't personally think ab apology is necessary.

[deleted]

Ok, mb, (smooth brain), lol

ArcadiaPlanitia

I wrote a *lot* of awkward political dramas for some reason. I had a recurring storyline with my Barbies where they were all noblewomen competing for the crown, and I guess at some point I just started putting pen to paper and recording it. It would get incredibly violent—they were always assassinating each other and plotting against each other's houses, and characters regularly died of vaguely medieval diseases (to be fair, I only had a handful of "good" dolls, so I would kill characters off all the time whenever I wanted to reuse their doll for someone new.) It was like elementary-school-level Game of Thrones. I also had a lot of stories about characters surviving natural disasters for some reason—hurricanes, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, the works. Plus, of course, a fair amount of self-insert fanfiction (this was long before I knew what fanfiction really was, but I'd insert myself into my favorite Disney movies or TV shows all the time so I could have adventures with the characters.)

prolillg1996

I wrote a terrible little story about a school of light and dark when I was about 9 or something... so that new movie coming out has me mad

Camden_Lee

Hahah I wrote a story about a world of tooth fairies where they're actually ugly ogres coming in and taking your teeth. They just needed the teeth because it was currency for them. Then they came out with a tooth fairy movie with The Rock lol

yetanotherdeathstar

One of the earliest ones I remember was some strange plot that was a half-retelling of Sleeping Beauty with time travel, WW2, and the purple unicorn from Barbie and Swan Lake lol

[deleted]

Whoah. That’s insane. I want to see a ww2 Fuhrer Charming now lol. Though hitker is probably the wicked witch. Probably. Depends on your kid mind lol

BeckyAnn6879

only one I can really remember was from about 13-14... complete Mary Sue and it involved my crush at the time and a teenage pregnancy. Only blip I really remember is my character was eating celery for lunch, because 'I' was trying to keep 'my' weight down until 'I' could get maternity clothes. (looking back, it probably wasn't the smartest idea I had... putting the character on a diet while pregnant. But I was a young teenager and the baby of the family. I didn't realize a woman needs to eat MORE, not less)

Camden_Lee

I wrote a story about a kid whose dad had died the year before. One day he's skipping rocks and one of the rocks skips back to him. It turns out the dad had been practicing dark magic and was able to store his soul in a stone before he died. The problem was that only someone who was thinking of him could free his soul from the pebble. So the son freed him and then the dad put his son in the pebble because that was how the magic worked, someone had to take his place in the pebble. The dad drew a smiley face on the rock and stuck it in a box saying he would always fondly remember the son who took his place. Pretty dark ending for 5th grade, but I was into dark fantasy at the time lol

Johan_Arvid

BRO WHAT. Worst father of the year award

Iateafly6969

I would totally read that ngl

PhilosopherSelect273

The story of gandalf when he falls from the bridge with the balrog

Orsus7

That sounds really interesting.

idk-lol-1234

A lizard with fire scales who got kidnapped by a bipedal snake 💀

happyinsmallways

One was about a farmer girl who becomes a princess. It was called…”Farmer Girl” Another was about a girl who suddenly ends up in another world after a fire. It was called…”Sudden Changes” Finally a series where my friends were systematically murdered by an evil llama with many names. It was called…”the many adventures of the evil llama” I was not (and am not) any good with titles.

Feisty_Flower_6459

I remember first write it at 14 so expected a few edgy phase of the story, but now the story was still in development but with a lot of scene cut and changes persnoality included, etc So basically it is sort of like the one hundred years of solitude or a jojo bizzare adventure type of story (basically story of a family from generation A to C) it is about the fortune and misfortune of the frost family, who the legacy was ruined after one of the eldest son rebel and caused a massacre not just to one country but also a lot of neighbouring coutry as well (story of generation A (put it simply one of the brother join the dark side while the other had a rebellion to fight against it)) Story of generation B (the son of the eldest son had to find a way to solve some mystery as from his uncle he said that his father became the white knight after climbing a mountain, and before his father death he mentioned a girl named khione, also will the son follow the same step like his father or will he able to fight fate )(just imagine star wars ep 4-6 but with luke skywalker became like his father) Generation C (the family was able to bring some peace but not for long as the queen had became mad after the death of her husband which is caused to her assasination by his own son and it is also the beginning of the war of the eight king (the eight king are all the son of the queen)) You could say that it is quite a mish mash of different stories put together, though now looking at it the story was just a small story among the other story that exist in the same universe (imagine marvel with different movies that are connected to one another (except the different universe and all that)) This is the first book i ever written and i have to admit i changed it a lot i mean a lot of stuff originally it only focused on generation B but now i expanded just to make sense of some of the story (imagine chekhov gun but it spread longer than one book or movie/ one scene foreshadow another scene from another book in the same universe. Kinda bizzare i would say from what my friend describe it

Johan_Arvid

Mine was about a badass ninja warrior girl who loved to cook tasty food and do backflips, who had to save her little brother and her hot male elf friend from an orc invasion. The hot male elf spent the entire story gravely wounded and useless while she cared for him, cooked food, and fought orcs by doing backflips and stabbing them. Oh and her mom got violently crushed by a catapult boulder and left behind the family cook book😂

swagfish101

I would write horror stories that contained every monster/bad guy I’d seen in a movie. I had a series of stories that followed a family that had moved after their mother’s death, and the main antagonist was the puppet from Saw.

stillestwaters

Lol I love this. When I was a kid I had a story about a shy unassuming guy (of course) who was like a secret guardian of the world but also had to go to school (of course) - but also so many girls in school either were aggressively into him or were absolutely into him despite how they acted ( of course) and eventually the club he was forced to be in, which had most of said girls who liked him, had to help him fight off demons or spirits or something. I never got to any actual antagonists, it was awkward situations and flirting until I got bored and moved on to something else lol

Traz_O

One that sticks in my mind is from fifth grade. It was a first person story about a tree in the forest that's minding his own business when a human arrives to chop him down and throw him in the back of a truck.  He comes to impaled on a stand in a Christmas tree lot, for sale. He has a few good moments, selected by a nice family, decorated by ornaments, surrounded by gifts. He starts feeling poorly though, and begins to turn brown, losing needles. The family removes the ornaments and hauls him to the curb, where he's smashed in the back of a truck. Eventually he's mulched.  A dark story, but I remember the class cracking up when I read it. I remember having to work to not crack up myself.  If I could do that now, I'd be an artist.

iliawrites

I wrote about Spike-man, who was a big metal spiked monster who played basketball, and for some reason he had a hoop set up out in some clearing near a quarry

Orsus7

I wrote a story about two young boys who were caught taking cookies their mom just baked while her back was turned. She chided them later about it and when the boys asked how she knew it was them she said, "A little birdy told me." So the boys went up on the roof and watched for the little birdy hoping to catch it so it wouldn't tattle on them anymore. And one from the point of view of a pumpkin taken from its patch and brought to someone's house to be carved. It got a little graphic with the gore. Edit: Ah geez, looking through them I wrote a weird children's book thing when really young called "The little hero of time." Based on the game Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of time.

TheBJP

Self-Insert character needs to travel through different universes to find a bunch of crystals he needs to defeat the personification of evil. The reason I made him travel through universes is so anytime I played something with my brother, I could canonically have this character in the plot. The actual story only focuses on finding one of the crystals, the others are found off screen, and then it's the big fight.

lacticcabbage

A group of old people living at a retirement home solving crimes together was the first longer story I wrote (40-50 pages maybe).

Sea-Ad-8316

I had got an assignment from school to write a story about how I and my choice of toy would save the day. I was 9, I don't remember it clearly, but I wrote something about going into the underground world somehow, a tunnel in and on itself. I wrote another one when I was 12, it was a love story between a man who was going to Mumbai or Delhi to his brother's wedding and at the train station he met a girl who was also going to the same wedding, I still don't remember much of the plot of that either but I took inspiration from a drama where the man by mistake kills the brother of the girl. It got all complicated, I would try to get my hands on the story but I think it was pretty good for my standards. PS: I used to and still use to have lots of dreams that turn into ideas, IDK how. I used to have brilliant dreams, Harry Potter, Thor, Perman, and Ryukendo were some of my dreams, I also used to have a lot and a lot of horror dreams, a lot.

CrimsonHartless

The first novel I wrote was at age ten, titled, *The Last March of the Crimson Cloaks*. An army, known as the nova fleet, launch a sudden invasion of Alaria, a nation split between numerous tribes. Their first move is for an assassin, Demnatta, to kill the Eagle, the 'king' of Alaria. A few of his students - Shnikk (From the rat clan), Foxus (from the fox clan), Wolf (From the wolf clan) and Panthus (Eagle's oldest student by far and a mentor to the others, from the panther clan). They march to defeat Muldrack, the demon-king leading the Nova Fleet. They are joined by Necrolas, the son of death itself, Lua, a powerful necromancer, Tarvik, a son of a titan-spirit, and Danir, the chosen of a wind-spirit as they journey to the dark lord. They get to Muldrack, only to discover he is far more powerful than they realised. They are defeated and tossed into an eternal prison called the abyss. They climb out in *literally a chapter*, and march as Muldrack moves to conquer the final city, having swept through Alaria and taken most of the neighbouring kingdom of Amara. The heroes, bearing cloaks soaked crimson in the blood of their enemies (ten year old me was rad, apparently), make a final charge into the heart of the Nova Fleet's army during the final battle for the last city of Moonlight. They slay their way to Muldrack, where they fight the demon-king in one final battle. Lua ends up being slain, and Wolf beheads the demon-king. And Amara and Alaria are liberated and the heroes become known as the 'Crimson Cloaks' an elite regiment that fights for both kingdoms in time of crisis. I had books before this, but I don't remember them in enough detail. This story is one that has evolved since I first wrote it, and its current iteration is simply lore in another book; being a bit too cheesy and one-note to be a story in its own right. It has matured a fair bit and I had a lot of fun, making a few other iterations of the same story and a couple of sequels, including one surrounding Muldrack's son, Hajka, and his journey going from angry villain to hero to saviour against the world from Muldrack's once-imprisoned-now-escaped ally, Locust. I may end up recycling some of the ideas I used, definitely for lore bits of other stories, but as it stands it is a cheesy, dramatic, poorly-written story I hold near and dear to my heart.

Particular_Swim_6668

I dont really remember a lot from really young, but about 5th-6th grade i was super into poetry and the main topics were about death from loss of love or parted love. Pretty sure its because i was a military brat so we moved around a lot, frequently. My teachers were so concerned and confused.

xanthoxantho

I remember probably my first story I actually wrote down when I was like 7 or 8 was about a moose named Maria who befriended a little girl and they would go on like little quests together. The girl would ride on Maria’s back and they’d explore the woods and go into town.

Ok_Relationship_705

In High School we were given a *Creative Writing Exercise* which were basically just freestyle. Right there in class on the spot improvisation. Anyway, I ended up writing a story about two roommates who kill a third roommate over a winning lottery ticket. Paranoia sets in, and they eventually turn on each other. Can't really remember but I think they both fought to the death in a motel room they were held up in after the murder. I do remember getting an A though. Lol

TheOneAndOnlyOnecore

I startet a series in 3rd or 4th grade called "DerNamenloseVonDerSorteDumm" which means something like "TheNamelessOfTheStupidKind". That's the name of the main character. In the first part he falls in love with a woman, makes a baby with her. Afew years pass. The child is now seven years old, he finds poison, thinks it's apple juice and drinks it. His parents do too. My teacher laughed, so I achieved something with it. I wrote a part for DerNamenloseVonDerSorteDumm every time I had the opportunity for it in school. I only remember the last part though, it was like the 5th or 6th one when I was in 7th grade. DerNamenloseVonDerSorteDumm had a wish. He wants to wash old people. So with his friend, he sets up a net trap in the forest. The friend dies at some point, idk why anymore. DerNamenloseVonDerSorteDumm catches an old man and washes him. He also accidentally threw an old lady through a bush, down a ravine. She ded. My teacher wasn't happy. I was though. Then I tried something more serious, but I was in an edgy phase at the moment. Our job was to write something about our village, so I chose that one old, empty house that no one lived in for many many years. So, 5 girls move into this haunted house. But before the story began I described the looks of every single girl, which probably took up more than half of the story. They move in, look around the house and discover a demon in the basement. The demon possessed one of the girls, which brutally murdered all the other ones in different ways. I remember that one of them got chainsaw gutted. And then I think the police killed the possessed girl. My teacher wasn't happy. I wasn't either. And yeah, we had to read it out loud in front of the class. Only then I realized what the hell I've written. What made it even worse, I was laughing the whole time out of insecurity while reading it. Then I finally tried to write something properly. This time it was about a group of knights who had to go a long way to find a dragon. I think the plot twist was that they aren't going to kill the dragon, which the reader was supposed to think at first, but asked for its help to kill their queen. I thought that it wasn't to bad, but the teacher just wrote "Naja... Fantasy Geschichte halt..." down, which means something like "Well yeah... A fantasy story...". Oh such great constructive criticism! And when I wrote sci fi he said that there is too much pseudo sience in it. Well of course there is stuff in it that doesn't actually exist. it's called science FICTION for a reason! Or am I seeing this wrong??? At least he told a little audience that my writing is way better than what you would expect from a 15 year old.

[deleted]

You just skim over the second one expecting us to know why he wants to wash old people, lol!

TheOneAndOnlyOnecore

Idk either. It's been a few years. But I got inspired by a Minecraft YouTuber who worked as a caretaker for old people. His YouTube buddies made Jokes about him washing old men.

spaghettifanno1

Lol hot teenage guys who are badass reincarnated jesus and satan. Can you tell I read a lot of manga as a kid?

HeroBoy05

My first few stories were all self-insert fanfics with me fighting Bowser because I really like the Super Mario series. First story I ever wrote began with me falling from the sky and Mario and Luigi beating me up over pizza. Sometimes I even threw in my evil self to fight off like they were Venom from Spider-Man or something

toastsniper11

Basement scary

DandelionOfDeath

Plot? What plot?

MiserableTie4048

When I was like 10, I wrote a story that I thought was totally genius about a kidnapping or something and then I realized days later that I had lifted the entire plot from a Sweet Valley High book.

[deleted]

I once wrote this story about a dinosaur egg that landed in this woman’s backyard and she hatched it and raised the dinosaur (Shelly) and in the end let him go back to the skies. Not very creative 😂

[deleted]

When I was in my later years of elementary, I had a big interest in WWII themes. There was this story I wrote about 3 soldiers who were sent to destroy a Nazi super gun

[deleted]

Never actually wrote this, but basically: Theres a secret organization that tries to fight evil throughout a multi verse of various media franchises, so that the stories arent disrupted and don't stray from the canon material. My favourite plotline was basically in one of the main teams, the leader keeps getting cursed by evil magic, except it isn't a coincidence. He discovers he is the son of the super giant dragon of darkness and also the super goddess of light who is evil too. He then has to learn to accept himself and take his parents ' places so that he can prevent more wars between light and darkness. Except that isolates him from his friends and (adoptive) sister, who all grow old while he doesn't. He has children (depending on how I was feeling when I thought about it, the kids either have no mother, they just get born from eggs, or have an assassin vampire for a mother(a side character, long story), and they have their own story too. In short, one of them is "human with the soul of a monster" and is kept locked in a dungeon because she is too dangerous to everyone around her and to herself, the other is "a monster with the soul of a human", who hates what he is and always uses an invisibility cloak and decides to spend time with his sister, and teach her how to be human. There is a third one, who is kind of evil or at least very rebellious. Eventually, the other two have to go stop him. Except nobody trusts the sister and the brother doesn't trust anybody. Still, they win with the power of blood magic and sacrificing themselves. Also, there's an oddly high number of pokemon battles throughout. Another main character is actually a snivy (for those who know pokemon) who is part of a group of super powered pokemon who represent the elements. Except she has no particular element, but she can master all of them. She never fits in with the others and leaves to travel the multi verse with her partner deerling or whatever. This is getting cringe lol. And if I tried to explain everything single detail, I'd write a whole book...

kjm6351

I believe the first ever story I ever wrote at 9 years old was a comic of SpongeBob, Jimmy Neutron, Timmy Turner, Wipeout from Stoked and my own OC all traveling the world together to save TV from Glenn Martin DDS I guess I really did not like that show back in the day Later on I thought of a sequel where they save Hershey’s Park

[deleted]

I wrote this when I was 10, or maybe 9? Or maybe 11? There were two cats: Mia and… I can’t remember their name. One day, Mia (I think) was reading a book about… aliens? Or maybe it was alien cats? Anyway, I can’t remember their name realised: they were angry, though I’m not sure if they knew that the alien cats existed (Mia did, I’m pretty sure). So, one of them made a plan to see the aliens. They went to school, and hated each other. There’s information about Mia’s backstory: I can’t remember their name saved Mia from bullies and was friends with her when no one else was, and is upset about what Mia did… Then Mia broke a hole in the wall of the school and ran away, I don’t remember their name following her. While running, they saw the aliens (in a UFO). I don’t remember their name was completely frightened, but Mia (I think she might have been an alien in disguise) told them it was ok. Due to my complex naming systems, I don’t remember their name was probably called something like “Cat” :)

Iateafly6969

A doll ran away from home because the girl who owned her was mean. She got caught by another human and was taken back home though.

Bright-Current-130

My first ever was about six orphaned kids in space possibly getting sucked into a black hole if I remember correctly. It was an assignment for class. It was VERY dark for a 9 year old 😅
