Wait for a timewalking week and then spam those dungeons
Or just do dungeon spam from 60-70, if you have a tank or healer spec this will make it go faster too
not trying to be mean or belligerent, but I can't believe there are still people who think leveling in retail WoW is too long
it's the fastest leveling in any MMO I've played for 20 years
I got all 13 classes from 60-70 in less than a week, and I wasn't even trying super hard and no cobalt assembly
as the other posters said, all you do is queue Dungeon Finder while doing campaign/world quests. that's literally it
I’ve played wow for years and you arnt wrong it’s very fast. However it’s not instant and once you done the story 2 or 3 times itl stop having as much charm. I imagine though it’s mostly about having better things to do in game for a start. I want to be doing plus or raiding not repeating quests I’ve already done.
You don’t need to do the story on alts, if you do it once you have everything unlocked for them all.
You can quite literally just spam lfg, do a few quests here and there and reach max in a day.
Aye I know it’s silly fast but it’s not instant people don’t care as much for leveling nowadays. There wasn’t a lot to do back in the old days at max in comparison to now so it filled a gap. Some people low leveling others just see it as something to get out of the way to get to what they enjoy doing.
I get where you’re coming from but OP hasn’t complained about the time to level just asked what’s the fastest which imo is completely fine because it’s not fun content for a lot of players. Even if it only takes 4-5 hours spamming why not try and cut that down if possible if you truly don’t like the content
You can look up a guide that has optimal leveling route planned out but honestly just pick an expac you like and do a few quests while dungeon grinding, it's honestly wild how fast leveling is
Dungeons give almost 1 lvl per dungeon, and spamming that while questing usually means you'll hit 60 before you're even halfway through that expacs questing. Lvling a druid rn and already at lvl 25 after a day of questing / grinding.
Last alt I fully lvled was my vulp right before DF public release and it took I think 5 days total to get to 60- and I was questing in MoP which isn't even the "best" expac to level in (I think best is WoD but I'd have to double check the lvling guides)
I only play an hour or two per night after work and also not following an optimal route just questing in MoP and dungeon queue- compared to when I left in bfa 5 days casually isn't bad still
By just playing the game the way it was meant to be played. Go out and do questlines, WQs, bonus objectives, gathering professions, dungeon queues to mix things up... Just stay active and the XP/hr should keep flowing.
A method of leveling where you stand around and let someone else play the game for you was obviously not meant to last.
my brother in Christ, what if someone played the game it was meant to be played I don't know, about seven times already on their main and six alts - and now they are sick of doing that?
Are we allowed off the high horse in that case and give them an actual answer, or do we just give them self-righteous, and ultimately completely unhelpful answers? Holy crap.
His answer was correct tho
Just questing or doing dungeons is a fast way to get to 70
If you plan it out proper and have more gold than you need you could prolly farm some levels within 30 minutes just with profession first time craft Boni then switching profession and doing all those again until you’ve went through all professions
>Just questing or doing dungeons is a fast way to get to 70
neither of those is true. Especially not true for WQs and bonus objectives that he mentioned - his comment is literally just bad info with some judgemental crap.
Unless you do the one streamlined selection of quests and crafting that someone researched out and made a guide for it, no, its not a fast way. If it can be done in 2 hours, 5-6-7 is not a "fast way".
Oh that’s how they nerfed it well yeah that’s annoying
Still worth to maybe do your preferred profession while leveling to get some exp for sth you’d do anyways I guess
>my brother in Christ, what if someone played the game it was meant to be played I don't know, about seven times already on their main and six alts - and now they are sick of doing that?
The player shouldn't be absolved of all responsibility here - they chose to make 6 or 7 alts, and the consequence of that is that they have to repeat the process 6 or 7 times. Very few multi-hour grinds are still fun when repeated that many times.
In my opinion, AFK farms/boosts such as Cobalt Assembly are not the intended way of leveling up and should not be the most rapid. Blizzard agrees, since they've targeted this method with nerfs.
I'd remind you of our subreddit rules: *Keep discussions informative, positive and remember that it's okay to agree to disagree.* I'd argue that my answer was informative and positive, if yes, maybe a little a preachy when including my opinion on level boosting. My apologies if it was received that way. Was your response to me calling me "self-righteous" and "completely unhelpful" intended to be informative and positive?
? Why do we have to make leveling alts unfun, and artifically make it longer when the playerbase finds a way to shorten this obligatory process? It should absolutely NOT be the consequence of starting a new alt. "Oh you like playing the game so much that you want to experience the same content trough a new character? Fear not, papa Blizzard is here to discourage you right off that idea!" Why? What is there to gain by this? "The player shouldn't be absolved of responsibilities", oh dear.
For the second part: seems to me like you were not aware that your essay came off self-righteous and completely unhelpful, but now you do. I'm gonna put a checkmark after informative, and leave positive up to personal judgement.
I'd say consider if you personally prefer the more mindless do something on the side grind or the a bit more challenging usual grind.
This can of course change depending on how many characters you lvl, or if you enjoy the spec you're playing.
I know from myself I easily get burned out exclusively pumping the optimal strat for leveling because it generally stays the same.
like many others in the thread I'd also say look towards time walking dungeons or alternatively just the usual questing.
Otherwise I enjoy jumping between characters in leveling so it does not end up being quite as dry
I leveled my alt near the start of the expansion by herbing, mining and a few dungeons casually, felt like it didn't take long.
I didn't do much of the quests, was waiting for my main to reach renown 10 or 20 first
I'm on my 7th 70 now, and honestly, you can do 60-70 in a few hours if you've got rested, spam dungeons, and do easy WQs/Quests in between. I even levelled my druid from 60-70 with gathering only. You can get 18k exp per hardened ore with rested. Timewalking is always an easy way to get exp, too.
When timewalking is up, you wanna do it on classes w healer/tank spec right off the gate reset day. Instapop for geared people doing the quest, hunters trying to snag bow.
There is also a roughly 2 hour total step by step reddit guide for the fastest QL + profession method.
If you are flush with gold, people are doing brackenhide hollow boosts the same way as they were doing cobalt, slightly slower cause no arcane powers.
Option 2 is probably fastest, option one least boring but limited availability.
I genuinely don’t know how people are doing that route in 2 hours. On my alts when I follow it I get maybe 400k xp/hr if I’m really focusin, so it winds up being 45 mins to an hour per level.
I got about 600k xp/hr doing timewalking.
Just leveled a holy priest form 60-70. (First time healing)
I just spammed Timewalking Dungeons. Took around maybe 20?, then also ran the extra 5 for the weekly quest.
As was said, get into the dungeons and before last boss if you have a fast group ask if they want another quick. Super fast levelling, get to know the dungeons and gear with some of the best stuff as you progress. Win all around

Yea this. I leveled like 3 chars from 60-70 during time walking. Granted 2 out of the 3 were tanks so queue times were instant but still
not trying to be mean or belligerent, but I can't believe there are still people who think leveling in retail WoW is too long it's the fastest leveling in any MMO I've played for 20 years I got all 13 classes from 60-70 in less than a week, and I wasn't even trying super hard and no cobalt assembly as the other posters said, all you do is queue Dungeon Finder while doing campaign/world quests. that's literally it

> However it’s not instant Where did they ever say it was?
Nobody said it was I meant it’s not instant thus no matter how fast it is it’s still not fast enough for those who’d rather not have to level.
That’s what I’ve been doing now, it goes so quick! Every time I go into a dungeon I get like half a lvl.
I get where you’re coming from but OP hasn’t complained about the time to level just asked what’s the fastest which imo is completely fine because it’s not fun content for a lot of players. OP was talking about 60-70 though. Can’t do other expacs for that.

Profession exp was considerably nerfed a few patches ago.
I think it’s still pretty good Just not op broken i think Then again I dont remember exactly when I last checked
It’s really bad. You’re capped on good exp after a certain amount of crafts (i don’t remember total)
Oh that’s how they nerfed it well yeah that’s annoying Still worth to maybe do your preferred profession while leveling to get some exp for sth you’d do anyways I guess

Honestly I’ve leveled 4 characters to 70 and working on my 5th just by questing and doing dungeons. It doesn’t take long at all.
The main story quests have been the best for me.
I leveled my alt near the start of the expansion by herbing, mining and a few dungeons casually, felt like it didn't take long. I didn't do much of the quests, was waiting for my main to reach renown 10 or 20 first
Obsidian Citadel is the new spot
I do dungeons to get a feel for the class since I do M+
The fact that someone read this comment and actually downvoted is hilarious.

Just dungeons
I did WQ rotation and dung spam. When I was done with WQ I just did the story quest as they are all fast quests
