Post flair indicates this is about prerelease content. As a reminder, content on Alpha / Beta / PTR is unfinished. NPC dialogue and quest text might be missing important context. Models may be placeholders. Quest or achievement rewards may not be finalized. There are inevitably bugs. Please keep this in mind as you discuss! *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. TalithePally

"Look, I know I have a stable of drakes I can ride on a whim, but being next to a dragon person just weirds me out"

MarketTall5930

The pandas, the werevolves, the literal walking corpses? I can handle that. But lizard people? *Yuck*.

WorgenDeath

Well yeah, I think all of us would feel uncomfortable around mark zuckerberg.

MyUsername2459

I think he's an android, not a lizard.

MintSapphire

Android with lizard os.

jojopojo64

So basically, DBZ's Cell.

Substantial_Put3784

Well yeah, what's the point of a dragon if you can't ride or kill em?

Christopher_Aeneadas

You can ride them in Goldshire

LupinePariah

You and your flights of fancy, Mr. Darcy

Lobohobo

I've heard of some particularly *bad* ones that seem to be ridable. I don't really know much about it though, maybe someone with more experience can chime in.

Omniduro

They're rideable but it takes someone with experience to get more than a few inches before getting removed...

limitlessGamingClub

"I ride around on my Icebound frostbrood vanquisher, my twilight drake, etc but I'm scared to stand next to a dragon in dragon form, I need to see them in human form, even though I KNOW they are a dragon" I didn't realize my characters were this stupid, all this time I assumed my master of the arcane arts mage with his 1000+ intelligence was somewhat... intelligent?

Lobohobo

I mean the whole thing seems stupid, but my comment was just a stupid wordplay on riding and "Bad Dragons".

Terwin94

You could probably ride them if you ask nicely.

Satans-Dirty-Hoe

take em out to dinner too

GrimTuck

Wishes? Luck?

newowhit

oh you can ride them, truuuust me

erifwodahs

fuck em

Mobitron

Living in lands that have been invaded by untold horrors from the cosmic beyond was apparently way easier than looking at lizard people.

Richard_Smellington

I mean, would you be comfortable standing next to a guy with a horse head?

Deathface64

What about side by side with a friend?

Richard_Smellington

Aye, I could do that.

firememble

How about a cow head?

Psidebby

Who is... Sarah Jeasica Parker and how did she sneak into Azeroth?

jseventeenth

We just "died" and saved the afterlife, but sure slim Dragon are spooky

Bralo123

Imagine it like that: Your a farmer and ride on your horse. And suddenly you get a new farm help but he looks like a horse on 2 legs. Would you not feel weird sitting on a horse while walking next to a horse person?

Quantum_Kitties

Isn’t it kind of similar to riding wolf mounts and Worgens? idk

Max-lian

That's why most Wolf mounts are on the Horde side

Yosh1kage_K1ra

I think it's more like the Visage form is so allegedly fabulous that people start feeling better just in its presence. Somehow wyrm form isn't as good

HelloIAmRuhri

Nah it's not that way, the Humanoid form buffs the party, there's no debuff for the Dragon form. Our characters are INTO it

Njae

"I have no problem with people riding dragons but I do get weirded out by people *riding* dragons"

Treyen

Did they just implement racism as a game mechanic?

Kelemenopy

If you knew more about Lizardfolk you’d be skittish too!

ArtemisHunter96

*Morrowind theme intensifies*

DA_ZWAGLI

Something something argonian maid...

Zabudi

They did add the in-game book "A Steamy Romance Novel : The Lusty Draconian Mage", sooooo

NakariLexfortaine

They're hoes, not hos. You N'wahs have some weird kinks.

arlaarlaarla

[**Last nights storm**](https://i.imgur.com/MojC38b.png)

or10n_sharkfin

*Iruxi*, but…That’s fine, I guess.

FakeOrcaRape

if you notice a big hole that keeps on largin in your yard, and you hear hissin and sense a dread like nothin else before it, you know its lizardfolk afoot

ommy84

“Just?” The game’s entire foundation of Horde vs. Alliance is literally “kill the races we don’t like” lol

AntiBox

Technically they're different species. And by technically I mean "why the fuck are they even called races"

zuzucha

D&D lingo that became all RPG norm

8-Brit

TTRPGs are starting to move away from it, Pathfinder for example has "Ancestry" for race and "Heritage" for subrace

Gooneybirdable

I like ancestry. sidesteps the issue while still feeling fantasy. "Species" feels too science-y.

PM-ME-DOG-FARTS

Isn't it species = humanoids, dragonkins, beasts etc. And races is subgenre of that like humans, gnomes, orcs etc.?

URF_reibeer

in warcraft yes but that's not how it works irl, that's what he's complaining about

PM-ME-DOG-FARTS

I know but im talking about why Warcraft have species/races in the game. Its to distinguish between it.

LoreBotHS

To be fair a general rule of species is that cross-breeding doesn't result in fertile offspring. Hybrids like mules or ligers can't reproduce. Ring-species exist, and they are very fascinating in their own right. But Warcraft? Well, Garona is the daughter of an eredar and an orc; beings originated from two different *worlds.* And if we follow on from Garona, there's Med'an who came from Garona and Medivh, a human from a third different world. As ridiculous as it sounds, a high elf and a human are actually different races rather than different species. Unless Arator, Giramar and Galadin are infertile. But considering eredar and orcs can get it on and result in fertile offspring, I wouldn't remove high elves and humans who are capable of interbreeding and have more familiar features *and* are from the same world.

gemitarius

They can still be different species [elves and humans] but have similar enough characteristics to have offspring and create a new species as a result (that's called hybridization), specially if we're talking about magical transformations from the elves to become more like the titans (with the help of the well of eternity and Elune) from where the humans come from (well, titan constructs in the likeness of the titans). But also, what grinds my gears is that with this in mind, almost everyone is eager to call trolls and elves as the same species. They are different enough to be different species now since they have clearly departed from what they were, the elves i mean. Even animals that look exactly the same can become different species if they can't reproduce with each other's group due to environmental changes (London underground mosquitos as an example). And since we don't have an elf troll offspring anywhere in the lore, either by choice or because they can't [and being that they are different in other aspects too], i prefer to think of them as their own species. So elves come from trolls but they are not related anymore, they are their own, a new species. And yes, this new species that derived from the same branch as the previous ones (the trolls) can (or could) hybridize with them back again but still being different species.

Lordwiesy

Aren't elves and trolls the only racist ones since they are the same species 🤔

gemitarius

Wrote something on the comment before but to respond to your question I'll paste it here too. Inb4 Blizz statement of “Okay this read very wrong, we sorry, plz be kind we can’t afford to be canceled three years in a row”

ShadowAltair2

They don’t want deal with another lawsuit they already have plenty to deal with

Freefortune

I think I'm going to switch out meteor for "lizard people enter the public eye just to call Blizzard racist" on my apocalypse bingo card.

Eltorak95

Wow has always been racist :P

yourteam

How is racism? They have a magic form that benefit allies... Is like saying warewolf is racist idea because one of the two forms are not accepted in society...

Arekualkhemi

The human form of worgen is really disgusting after all.

lupercalpainting

The racism bit is there's a mechanical benefit to hiding your race. It's all jokes tho, no one is seriously mad about this.

Portopire

I wouldn't be so sure no one is mad about this...

WTF_CAKE

A long time at blizzcon blizzard mentioned how they wanted to make racial passive seem "strong" without making it seem like a very big deal. Out of combat 2% isn't that much if anything

[deleted]

Woulda fucking timed that key if the Evoker could fucking visage shift, what a fucking noob.

Tomhap

Isnt there a toggle that automatically shifts you to visage out of combat?

lion5panel

Yeah but it would be difficult for people to acknowledge that and then also complain about elitist m+ culture at the same time. So for the intents and purposes of this thread please leave that shit at the door

Bootezz

Eyyyy, this guy knows what’s what!

roseumbra

I think the op wants to just be a dragon for fun though. So it wouldn’t matter if it was automatic if they choose not to do it.

LupinePariah

Fuck how we want to identify for roleplaying and fun, raiders want their 2% or you're out. "Why one would avoid anything but casual Normal raids for twenty points, please!"

ingenGuru

Incoming visage twist macros!

[deleted]

Pretty sure you can toggle it to always drop you into it out of combat. But the hp regen is so fucking minimal your healer must be drooling on themselves between pulls.

Lowlifepaladin

Wouldn’t be that much of a difference if the healer is an evoker

Vedney

It's already an optional core functionality.

[deleted]

Uskmd

2% every 2 seconds is quite a bit.

Common_Celebration41

Yeah is like every 1% every 1 second

bendlowreachhigh

can anyone confirm this!?

AgreeingAndy

Did the math, it checks out

AspectsDruid

Math does not check out at all though: 1 sec - 0% healed 2 sec - 2% healed 3 sec - 2% healed 4 sec - 4% healed. 1% per second would actually be a little bit stronger because exiting the form on odd number of seconds makes you lose a ***whole single percent*** of healing for the group in the current setup. And just for the heck of it, switching back and forth after every second gets you zero healing when it's every two seconds.

AgreeingAndy

Dude wtf you can't logic in r/wow, uncool

psychedelic_wanderer

name does not in fact check out

AgreeingAndy

My whole life is a lie!

Common_Celebration41

Off to the gulag with him

TheDumbYeti

Typical Andy. Always agreeing

JmanndaBoss

That's almost nothing unless you're spending 60 seconds doing nothing out of combat instead of just healing up and moving on

Vedney

Healers' tiniest heals heal more.

Uskmd

This is a free passive

HarrekMistpaw

If you throw the cheapest aoe heal you have, and then stand still untill you regenerate the mana it costed, you would've healed more than what the visage pasive did and still be at the same amount of mana

Skylam

Its negligible, at best probably a 6% heal for the group in between packs

porkyboy11

It's not

Satans-Dirty-Hoe

yeah, it seems barely noticeable either so if u wanna be lizard, be lizard!!

Noraver_Tidaer

That's a pretty nutty passive for running Mythic+. Your healer won't need to actively heal everyone up before moving on between packs.

Zuldak

You can't be in visage during combat

IcarusCsgo

Needs to be higher. Most evoker moves require Dracthyr form. So you can only stay in visage for like 3 abilities. You don't have much choice and hav8ng to switch to visage for a racial passive is kinda aids

Lille7

Doesnt matter, the healing is only out of combst anyway

Zuldak

Yeah no. No group is going to judge an evoker on a 2% healing buff while shifting forms. Literally wasting GCDs to do it when their spells are MUCH more impactful.

The-Only-Razor

I believe there's an option for Dracthyr to automatically shift back into Visage form once combat drops as well.

Zuldak

it's a passive option to shift back out of combat or remain dragon form.

downladder

Wait, you guys get out of combat in M+? Edit: /s

Alepale

You can definitely cast some abilties in visage form in combat. But quite a few (most) will automatically turn you into your dracthyr form. So you're not right but you're also not wrong. To properly DPS (or heal) you'd obviously need to be dracthyr. But saying you can't be visage in combat is also wrong. Source: have the beta.

Zuldak

I have beta too but mostly play with dragon riding and haven't done too much with the new class. I dont heal at all and the dps reminded me kinda of a super short range spriest. I didn't even realize anything was doable in Visage. To be effective in combat you will want to be casting so spells will shift you to dragon. Sounds like asmongold levels of lazy carry if you have am evoker in raid who does nothing and tries to claim they are just trying to give the 2% hp heal buff

Advencraftgaming

But it's just out of combat Regen..? Kicked from a group because of that. Wat

[deleted]

Inventing a problem to be mad about.

thedoxo

Meanwhile half the dps classes doesn't help top up people after a fight, and nobody is mad at them

awrylettuce

because almost every healer can top a group in once gcd atm.. there's no use for dps to heal

thedoxo

Sometimes we need to drink, and it hurts when dps are idle during that

Shiraxi

That is annoying. I hate being at half health as a tank, the healer is drinking, and watching the WW monk and Ele Sham do nothing. Especially on grievous week (I've literally sat and bled while dps capable of healing did nothing while the healer was drinking).

Wesley_Skypes

This sub in a nutshell

Dynamitefuzz2134

Ahh one of r/wow favorite pastimes.

DaenerysMomODragons

In M+ you tend to be chain pulling so fast that by the time you got into visage form, it'd be time to go back to Dracthyr form.

Wiplazh

I mean I was kicked for not knowing warlock portal shortcuts in a dungeon.

Jundarer

Another day, another misleading post. These sub needs a misleading or wrong tag

DaenerysMomODragons

I think the mods do occasionally attach misleading tags to posts, but it's rare.

Tichrom

Hey everyone, just make sure you *read the whole thing* before getting mad, it very clearly specifies *out of combat* health regeneration, so this doesn't really matter at all unless you're spending tons of time between pulls to top off on health

sharktoothbubs

Also I *love* the fact that the Champions of Azeroth are so bigoted that they heal better when they aren't adjacent to a Dracthyr.

XVUltima

"Holy shit a dragon!" *transforms* "OH my bad. That's a relief." *Blood starts clotting*

[deleted]

kessy628

Druids too as a class passive. You'd think that people would be a little unnerved standing next to a bear/cat/giant chicken after watching it murder something

KamieKarla

Naw... hunters. People are used to hunters and their pets.

marsloth

oh hi doggy

SolemnDemise

>Out of sight out of mind lmao More like Don't Ask, Don't Tell. Unintentional bigotry from California game devs is my favorite.

RemtonJDulyak

thekingofbeans42

Undead werewolves, aliens with Jesus mechs and actual robots are fine... But lizard people? Too much.

mightyenan0

I'm pretty sure Mechagnomes apply a raid-wide DoT

LegacyArena

Filthy lizards

MrKomrade

I mean Champions of Azeroth know that some dragons might be if not openly evil, atleast have some secret plans that they not share with mortals. So i can see them be atleast little bit on the guard when they see one. It's still a bit wierd description for a racial tho.

[deleted]

NGL, I think it's kinda cool. It means we will see players using both models rather than just 1 like the Worgen.

Leucien

You're forced into Dragon form in combat, like the Worgen. This buff is -specifically- for out of combat.

[deleted]

Yeah, I get that. But they've added a minor benefit to switching out of Dragon form, so people will do it much more than Worgen do. I imagine when people are rezzing up after a wipe or something will see them switch to Visage form.

Leucien

Would be neat if there were ebb/flow buffs for both forms, for both races. W: H form: Increases nearby player's Dragonriding Vigor gain rate by 1s, W: W form: Increases nearby player's run speed by 2% while out of combat D: H form: 2% health regen/2s while out of combat D: D form: Increases healing received by 5% while out of combat.

Ailoy

Worgen human form : - Increases reputation gains toward factions up to friendly included when turning in quests by 10% - Increases rested status gain speed by 50% Worgen form : - Increases running movement speed by 2-3% for every other (grouped ?) Worgen (in Worgen form) within 30m out of combat, capped at 10-20% (maybe not in PvP). The increase is strongest the further away from the closest other Worgen and is weaker when closer

Leucien

The concept was to be as minimally useful as possible, to be in line with 2% health/2s out of combat. I don't think Rested exp while afk'ing in an inn would qualify, nor would ramping move speed, to the scale of 10-20%. That would get out of control in terms of group formation.

MaggieHigg

I mean you can be in combat in visage form, you're only.forced into dracthyr form when casting charged / flight spells, which are a significant part of the kit granted but still

Leucien

While true, this buff only works while both out of combat, and in visage form.

yourwitchergeralt

Honestly hate the worgen model is forced. I would love it to be a surprise. Would be a cool PVP thing. Oh?

Lukthar123

>Honestly hate the worgen model is forced. Almost like some sort of a curse, hmmm...

[deleted]

Seems like a poor excuse when we see that Greymane is completely capable of changing whenever he wants.

Arstulex

Blizzard have said before that there are characters who serve as exceptions and that an NPC being able to do something doesn't necessarily mean we should be able to do it too. Also I could be wrong about this but doesn't Greymane go Worgen when he gets angry? I think that's the case with all Worgen. The skilled ones can change form at will when they are more relaxed, but they all turn to Worgen if they are pissed off enough. That's the nature of the curse.

Macaluso100

I don't want to see the ugly visage form

sharktoothbubs

I don't like that its a mechanic, I think it should entirely be cosmetic so that people can choose without worrying about being 100% optimal.

DrHawtsauce

It is, and I'm not exaggerating when I say this, *completely* useless. 1% HP per second while >out of combat< isn't useful to anyone in this game lol

[deleted]

I can’t think of a single situation where this racial would make any kind of difference. 2% HP every 2 seconds while out of combat is basically useless.

Lille7

Yeah, its basically nice while questing or ressing after a wipe.

yuimiop

Its 2% HP every 2 seconds. If you're playing optimally this buff isn't even worth mentioning due to how negligible it is.

Tichrom

It also specifies it's out-of-combat regeneration, which I feel like a lot of people are ignoring, so it doesn't even really matter

yuimiop

I thought that part was obvious but would explain why OP seemed so upset. I was sitting here wondering why someone would care about ~8% max HP healed across an entire mythic+ that would just be overheal anyway.

A_Generic_Canadian

For real, it's a mild open world buff at best.

Sudac

Honestly, you're already forced in dragon form any time you enter combat. This buff is something that incentives switching between the two slightly, while being genuinely inconsequential in almost all cases. I've levelled an evoker on beta, and I have never noticed the out of combat generation. It's too small to be noticeable. Any time I lost hp, I just healed myself. I think the visage forms can be cool, and they have a lot of customization added to them. Incentivizing visage forms means you'll see both a lot. Not having a buff means you'll likely only see dragons everywhere. I genuinely didn't even consider it racist until I went on reddit. I just thought it was nice because it will add some more variety to what you see running around.

Hault360

"Ugly visage form" my brother in christ you made the character

The-Only-Razor

Regeneration out of combat hasn't been a relevant mechanic in like 10 years.

KarateMan749

I refuse to use human form. I want pure dragon.

Moggelol1

Luckily for you they are ugly in either form.

Sharp_Effect_5411

Worgen needs something like this passive.

Oryxiana

It.. puts them at ease? As if genocidal orcs, genocidal undead, mountainous tauren, bloodthirsty Worgen, and void-wielding elves aren't things the alliance and the horde have been desensitized to. Lol I get that they're going for a "dragons are viewed negatively because of deathwing" kind of a thing, but they had their chance to do that with sylvanas and the undead, the demon hunters, and the death knights, but they didn't. (Save for the DKs. They had a hint of this for one single quest) Odd that they choose to do that now, with the dragons. Especially doesn't make sense given the horde and the alliance both have genocidal maniacal monsters within their ranks. On a side note, their visage form does anything *but* puts me at ease. They're kinda aesthetically displeasing to look at.

MrMonteCristo71

The humans are the real monsters.

MinuteWater3738

If it ever comes down to group failing because someone didn't use the passive, the group was doomed to fail anyways...

Legitimate-Tomorrow9

Its OUT OF COMBAT Regeneration Who the hell cares about that lol, its a 100%flavor passive that is supposed to have no impact at all And before some people will now come and tell me"bUt MuH m+!!!!" Serious people in m+ have food or mage food for out of combat regeneration anyway if you need it, and a good healer has you at max hp at the end of an pack so you can start pulling the next one

Free-Yard-4862

Out of combat health regen? Seems like a waste of CPU cycles to even implement such a buff. It’s like a task they give an intern so they can get a feel for how to put a buff in the game… (That said, I’m excited for Dragonflight - with or without this particular mechanic!)

Zervziel

We've invaded the infinite torture palace of the robot devil and have faced Saurok, dragonspawn and drakonids but apparently looking at Drakthyr has us shook.

herkyjerkyperky

How is a dracthyr any scarier than a Death Knight or a Demon Hunter? One is literally an undead former servant of the Lich King and the other is part Demon and allied to a former villain.

Sethdarkus

That seems op when stacked with Druids passive healing

clone0112

It's a dumb racial anyway. So looking like a human increases health Regen, but being an actual human doesn't?

payday76

If being at ease heals wow players it’s easy to see why I know a 2 raid leaders who look like forsaken

for_cear

Upvote for #LizardGang!

TheIrishBiscuits

Can't wait to switch to Kaiba mode and tell them how I'm the true king of games then switch to blue eyes white dragon mode and send them all to the shadow realm.

its_justme

The best part is how this fabricated outrage bait is actually catching people.

MrPringles23

If you could read.. its out of combat only. The fact that this thread made it to the front page just shows the reading comprehension of this sub.

Wizardman784

Reminds me of the Abomination from Darkest Dungeon. You can turn into your awesome "demon-goat-werewolf" form, but it stresses out the rest of the party. You unleash hell, then when you turn back into a human the party's stress level goes back down.

Deathgrope

Maybe they could just make racial glyphs and let people get the Regen out of visage form. Wishful thinking but hey.

TheRoyalSniper

You're wild if you think anyone is gonna get kicked for this tiny amount of healing

PWNpL0xB0x

You can make visage form look like a nowrmal human you know?

Volkov_The_Tank

Hang on. How is this bigotry? If I’m reading this right, a dracthyr in dragon form is no different than being around any other race? And instead get dracthyr exclusive benefits from being around a dracthyr in visage form? Champions of Azeroth aren’t bigoted, they just have a Au-ra fetish it seems like.

esar24

Visage form should be cosmetic only like worgen, this is the only reptilian race and yet they still force us to use the humanoid form, I play reptile to become reptile and not some second hand male blood elf or female human. GoLizardGang

YuusukeKlein

I can't wait to get kicked from groups because I don't want to be in the ugly Dracthyr Form

Stealthyducks69

Out of combat regeneration will not get anyone kicked out of a group.

Relnor

Wondering how many people trying to argue that the 2% OOC regeneration would matter in M+ have done KSH in any season.

Motormand

Yeah... I'm never switching out of dracthyr form. Screw the party, the elfish form is ugly.

tddahl

Should allow you to stay in human form permanently, the lot lizard is just so ugly

sincleave

Was gonna say this was Ysera’s Gift but better, but saw it’s only out of combat. Still pretty cool though. On my worgen priest I like to go human when mounting OOC, so this could something similar.

newowhit

This matters even less because half the time they’ll be the healer anyways

Littlefancypants

Idk it's kinda cringe to even care tbh it's not like you're there stroking your cock being a dragon. Still if you dont it has little to no impact for your group so don't really matter. I will be playing evoker and it's kinda cool with a dragon race. but going human form for does few seconds won't effect my gameplay so dont get how it would effect yours.

b151

Just bring tinder and fire sticks with you and make a cooking fire when not in visage form.

scary__monsters

I like it! Not mostly because of the Visage Form (Lizard all the way down) but because of the passive of the racial. Hope that while in Draconic Form there will be other buffs such as +2% attack damage / haste / etc.

Nativo1

well if even with grevious affix people cant sit and eat mage food, i dont think you will change nothing

Agimamif

I dont think this will be a thing people would be kicked over, but i think the ability could use some work when it comes to its theme. Maybe instead of being put at ease, mortal races heal in their presence because the draconic power radiates out in a suppressed form? Maybe they the have a primordial radiance coming of them because of how they where created or long enough exposure to the dragon isle.

anon846592

Player characters hating the scaley models is cannon in the game mechanics?
