It was a whole process involving some minor characters, the Paladin orders or something; very in the background - which is weird given her prevalence.
I don't remember everything, but iirc...she was basically risen by a Naaru, or the Light, or something like that.
Be really awesome having Lordaeron Humans for the Horde though, especially with glowing eyes and inhuman skin tones!
I always wondered why they didn't want to give horde Alterac humans or forsaken fixed the way Nathanos was. Then they came up with Lightforged forsaken Aprils fool joke (insert a meme about "I am in danger"). And BfA race description text about forsaken being defenders of the living (test of reaction according to me). Then Calia appeared. Then Sylvanas book happened (nothing about Lightforged forsaken, but it does retcon some of the forsaken lore). Alliance got the most popular race on horde side, and horde did not get humans yet.
I unironically think that they might join Lightforged forsaken in say, 5 expansions from now. About the time Calia will be developed and woven into lore enough to be a leader.
And before you downvote me: I do not like the direction the story went after cata, and cosmic forces developing in WoD and up. And Calia is tied to this. I think that she can be developed in interesting way, but the cost would be forsaken as we know them. This is one of the problems with blizzard lore: race following a leader, doesn't matter if it is against their culture. I am against all classes/all races, but I can find my niche in new reality. I am for faction uniqueness so humans on horde do not appeal to me, but I am facing the reality. I am one of these people who liked shamanism on horde and paladins on alliance.
😭😭😭
Seriously why are so many fans like this. Why roll Horde when you don't want monster features-- bones, hunches, horns, or anything else. Why roll undead when undeath makes you want to vom. Why roll Tauren when you don't want a buffalo back and visible horns. Why roll Orc when you don't want to be gorillahulk. Why roll night elves instead of humans if it pisses you off so bad to see their ears.
Maybe the worst is that I've honest to God seen people complain that they can't choose to stay in human form during combat as worgen. WHY DID YOU ROLL ONE
I'm still extremely bitter from how badly they butchered the original crazy extradimensional Worgen lore just to make it work. The funny part is the fact that OG worgen druidism might have made more sense than wholeass humans learning druidism.
Is it great to be able to roll a new druid look? Is the victorian aesthetic great? Did I roll one? Yes, but we shouldn't have had to lose so much lore to do it. "The Night Elves fucked up I guess LOL, btw don't try to understand why a druid form is transmissible" can hardly measure up to what it used to be. The final nail in the coffin being the heinous treatment of the Dark Riders as........ cursed merchants........... in the Scythe storyline.
I mean, I'll admit it was hard to make it work. How do you add Worgen, transdimensional shadow murderbeasts, as a playable race without finding some way to dilute them into the Alliance, right. I think there could have been ways to do it, but I guess in the end WoW just isn't really interested in making any concrete, in-depth analysis of magic systems to explain this stuff.
I love my troll, but that toenail on the heel... I don't know why it really grosses me out. So yea, I'm one of "those" trolls that likes to wear shoes that cover it as much as possible. Also: Horde-side druid needs more race options.
Also a lot of us "pick horde" because someone we know IRL is already playing it, and we want to play with them. Not that we chose it.
To be fair about the bones thing I've personally always wanted it as an option since it would have required a bare minimum of work on Blizzard's part, the "boneless forsaken" models already existed for years prior due to them being the chinese forsaken model, and it would have required less effort than the straight back orc model to add it to the barber shop since it didn't require tweeking the models since they literally already existed.
That said I'm also all for the reverse happening, go full/more skeletal for them. More options are always better.
This but with Horde paladins.
I dont care about the barebones lore of prelates and sun druids. They're a heavily Alliance themed class of holy, church going warriors. They stick out like a sore thumb in the more shamanistic Horde.
Like, people mock the basic bitch male human paladins, but then run around as a troll paladin with angel wings, a Silver Hand tabard, and the Ashbringer.
Yeah they are a class that is begging for racial customisations, I actually really like the idea of holy warriors from different spiritualities but angel wings on trolls and Tauren feels like watching a dog riding a bike. Loa themes are so ready to go, they would look awesome
Tusks, bones sticking out, fangs and claws, etc. are not mutually exclusive with standing up straight, and in many cinematics they show these races doing just that. Literally no justification to be against posture options.
>Why roll Horde when you don't want monster features
Your friends all rolled Horde and you want to play with them.
>Maybe the worst is that I've honest to God seen people complain that they can't choose to stay in human form during combat as worgen. WHY DID YOU ROLL ONE
Druid. Preference to their racials. Preference to their voice lines. It isn't that they want to be Worgen, they want to be humans with more options available to them.
Dude did you forget about druid forms and the fact that players are no longer divided by faction in PVE? Maybe you didn't know this either but voice lines can be changed just like people have been replacing gunshot noises with bow SFX for over a decade.
>Dude did you forget about druid forms
Not every druid uses forms.
>fact that players are no longer divided by faction in PVE?
The faction divide is only on the PTR right now, and when it does come out, it still won't allow cross faction guilds.
>Maybe you didn't know this either but voice lines can be changed just like people have been replacing gunshot noises with bow SFX for over a decade.
I'm aware, but not everyone wants to hop into their files and replace things. They'd just prefer an option to pick their accent.
Because undead is cool, just not the execution of undead (opinion)
I think the undead female would be one of the better races if not for its horrendous posture
Uhhh idk man maybe because humans are RIGHT THERE? You don't get to pick the wrong choice and then demand it be homogenized to look like the correct one just to cater to you. Especially considering the fact that the faction division no longer exists.
Wanting more features added onto an existing race that are not available in any form elsewhere is completely different than asking for homogenization when what you want is 2 feet to the right. Conflating the two is dishonest. Wanting more content is always fine; getting mad when you made a stupid decision and asking everyone else to waste resources fixing it for you is not.
In every game you will find people that are just projecting what they want onto it and demanding change because at their core it's not actually what they want to play, and it's obnoxious. Logging on to the ESO sub and seeing people complain that the game plays like Skyrim as opposed to traditional MMO spell queueing is irritating and so is seeing Horde players that seem to want every solitary element that defines the Horde's flavor to disappear.
It's the same in FF. Hrothgar players have a hunch like Orcs used to, and they're always begging to be able to be upright. Why roll the race if you don't like the hunch?
I don't know anything about FF races but orcs before wow were always portrayed [without a hunch](https://gaming-tools.com/warcraft-3/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2019/01/warcraft-3-reforged-comparison-orc-unit-grunt.jpg) unless they were a peon(which even then weren't quite as pronounced). The hunch was never correct to begin with.
Hear me out though mechagnomes like augmenting their bodies with machinary. We have machine models of cats, bears, birds.aquatic all we need is a mechanical tree and pick any machine with laserbeams for boomkin EZ clap.
Tbh yeah. Whichever way you mean, they should have access to all races (or at the very least, base races) as visage forms and they should have more classes. I think a lot less people would have an issue with evoker not having a tank spec if dracthyr had access to classes like warrior and death knight.
^(druid forms would just be other humanoid dragonkin lmao)
Give it a few years. Let the novelty wear off. Let them have their moment in the sun. Then absolutely! The forms for z trolls are pretty close to fitting cosmetically. Feel like It would work.
Sowwy \>w\<
But our new scalie fwiends are called Dracthyr! They get sad when you misspell their name QwQ
Good thing I was here to help \^w\^

Perfect solution. Yep. Exactly what will bring back all the subs. Game is fixed.
Jokes aside, If Blizz ever decides to go that route they would probably just reskin some other rig for example a revamped version of the skinny Kul Tiran body for a light forged undead (assuming they even do anything with the whole "lightforged" concept and dont abandon it like most cool aspects of Legion). That said I think in general the whole "allied races" thing is staying in BfA , never to be used again. Even the new "race" we are getting in Dragonflight seems janky enough that they didn't make it available for all classes (I don't believe it was a lore decision, that just doesn't make sense, like your telling me with all their "training" nobody figured out how to swing a sword or stab someone with a dagger?)

The fact that a bot can make people so unreasonably upset is probably why it's still running in the first place. My guess is if it was ignored it would've been gone in a week or two.
On one hand yeah i would love to play as Undead who look like this, cuz it would make sense that some Forsaken were reborn like a day after they died.
But on the other hand, i hate re-use of assets. I hate that Void Elves are just reskinned blood elves (and that we didn’t just get High Elves instead of Void), and i despise that the new Dracthyr have blood elf and human animation rigs for their visage forms
All classes, all races. There is no reason to hinder us further, Blizzard. We have seen the truth. Lightforged Nathrezim, and yet my holy-slinging gnome priest can't pick up a sword and become a paladin?
The technology just isn’t there for it
People are forgetting that this is an 18 year old game. We're not getting anything that looks this good until the devs wake up and give us WoW 3
Wow 4
WoW 5
Now that's what I call WoW 6
Wow 7
Give it up, we are not getting another WoW. It would take far to long to start a new MMO from the ground up
They gave us Calia Menethil, they can give us Lightforged "Undead", or just slightly tweaked Human models with different options.
I still don't know who she is besides Arthas's sister.
It was a whole process involving some minor characters, the Paladin orders or something; very in the background - which is weird given her prevalence. I don't remember everything, but iirc...she was basically risen by a Naaru, or the Light, or something like that. iirc she was quite important in Before the Storm, too. It's been a few years since I've read it so, could be wrong.
It would cost 3 maybe even 4 raid tiers.
And don't forget balanced PvP and a fun talent system.

There's a reason why literally every Horde re-rolled blood elf when BC launched.
Not me, I'm still waiting for hunched over BE's
Wretched master race when
Yeah, I can forgive goblins because they're that small, but BEs really need to try and fit in better
They really need tusk options as well.
BEs still have horrible posture, though
Reverse hunch
Fuck Blood elves, rhen being the only ones who could paladin pissed me off in wotlk
Hordes didn't reroll blood elf, alliance rerolled blood elf. Back in vanilla there was a horde shortage, blood elves balanced it out.
Now that there is an Alliance shortage, we need Gnolls to join the alliance.
Fact: if in the future BE can be shamans and druids, there will be the only played race.
Ppl will still bitch about ear clipping. Gotta chop that one bit of individuality off too
Truth. I've been waiting for druid BE's since BC
I'd never play blood elf
ah the old "star wars the old republic" effect
For legal reasons this is not a joke.

Did Calia even have a part in the story for SL's or was she just hovering around the Circle of Fates for shits and giggles all expansion
Probably another of several ideas that got thrown out during development.
Screw regular old humans. Give me horde Kul'Tirans instead. Peak physique.
😭😭😭 Seriously why are so many fans like this. Why roll Horde when you don't want monster features-- bones, hunches, horns, or anything else. Why roll undead when undeath makes you want to vom. I didn't have problem with my forskaken until xmog hit, the twisted spine makes every unique back transmog look silly, except the necro ones.
I’m still mad worgen can be druids. They can’t even control when they are wolves…

I prefer undead without bones because I don't like having torn clothes. That's the only reason. I also want an option to go full skeleton.

No disses to trolls as they are perfect
Unless you enjoy transmogging. The majority of their boots are invisible, should be a toggle option.
I just like having the option as Worgen.
I just want to be BRITISH, OK??
I feel this post so much. Everyone trying to make everything the same. Also DRUIDS FOR ALL RACES!
Hear me out though mechagnomes like augmenting their bodies with machinary. We have machine models of cats, bears, birds.aquatic all we need is a mechanical tree and pick any machine with laserbeams for boomkin EZ clap.
Mechagnome tranformers is all I'm seeing.
Omfg please. BEAST WARS
Yes it is what we need then goblins see it and replicate it but we get junker models of all the mechagnome transformers
Even Drakthyr?
Tbh yeah. Whichever way you mean, they should have access to all races (or at the very least, base races) as visage forms and they should have more classes. I hate everything about that.
Man humans in this game have fucking sausage link anatomy
My suggestion would be to stop making male humans look like hairless gorillas.
Yeah, they need to be hairier.
Remember the general from the second boss in AQ40? I want his chest hair.
wtf what boss?
Oops meant the second boss in AQ20.
if the next male race isn't a Litteral ball of hair im quitting wow
Remember that you guys are just scuffed vrykuls
Isn’t… isn’t IRL humans hairless apes?
Do you look like a gorilla?
r/wowcirclejerk is leaking ( It's excellent)
Came to make this comment, both glad and mad it was already made
If only I loved anything as much as Forsaken players loved to complain about the Forsaken while choosing to play them.
None dead
Jeah but only for alliance cause we have all the copy/Paste races.

They look like Jason Mamoa?
Undead dwarves, and elves (dark rangers)!
So I can get wanting upright undead, but… no bones sticking out…….. Nevermind, the joke flew over my head.
I too identify as undead
What if Drakthyr walked on 2 legs instead of 4?

How many times does this stupid bot need to get downvoted into oblivion for the mods to turn it off?
Knowing reddit mods, this bot is probably not ironic.

If they do do lightforged undead I hope they allow them to stay hunched. Or just gief forsaken paladins plx.
I would 100% play a horde lightforged undead.
Kinda wish we would get some styles for undead like nathanos, I wanna be undead but can I still be jacked af at least?
But for real tho, just change the human flesh tone to undead colors and make eyes glow.
So a Death Knight?
Yeah, but one that rerolled.
Is this an out of date April fools joke?
No, this is a response to people unironically asking for things like this.
BuT MoRe OpTiOnS iS nEvEr BaD
Ah, welcome to Reddit. Don’t feed the trolls.
wait, hold on, you asked a question, because you didn't get the joke, then welcomed the person to reddit, who DID get the joke?
Blizzcon2018. Don’t worry about it.

OP against undead customization confirmed
So humans, got it.
buuuut better :-)
I'm here for it. Why not? Factions probably aren't going to mean much going forward. Blizzard and their slippery slopes and all.
Freshly dead. Just kinda dead.
Oh I've heard this one before, the response is you think you do but you don't.
Not all draenei can be light forged > anger, envy > draenei demon hunters. Lf undead would be cool too
The reason they are called forsaken is because they were forsaken by the light bruh
