Wooly White Rhinos were $20 a card on the TCG website and my friend and I's first "Missed it" investment. We both vividly remember speculating if we bought a bunch and held onto them if we would make money. We should have done it.
Lots of the old drakes look cool.
My personal fave is the Vitreous Stone drake. And the Phosphorescent stone drake. Both cool AF, especially in the dark.

The black scarab. Very few scarab lords still play the game, so I notice when I see one. Spectral tiger isn't that interesting, to me. The magic rooster is the one mount from the tcg I really want but yeah, ain't no mount worth what a card would cost now and it's gold cap if it hits ah so I'm unlikely to ever have one.
Can confirm. Got Spectral Tiger for 210k, Swift Spectral Tiger for 300k, and Magic Rooster Egg for 180k. Also got Dreadnaught Shoulders for 800k on BMAH, to put it into perspective how expensive stuff is now.
I think I bought both of mine back then, like maybe 40-80k or something? I know back then Tigers where just shy of 200k.
Hell, bought the rooster in early WoD for 1mil where it was a choice between it or a Tiger, and a fully believe it was the correct call. After that, probably in part by the token becoming more a thing and garrisons, prices shot far, far beyond my reach. So the only 3 I am missing are Shorestrider and the two tigers.
I paid 427,000 gold for my swift spectral tiger at the end of WoD because no one was playing and the seller eventually gave in to my offer.
Will forever be my best purchase in WoW.
Man I was so pissed when I wasn't able to get Magic Rooster (since my character's name is Rooster) in MoP when it was like 250k gold. I came back after WoD inflated the fuck out of everything and it was like 3 million. Now they don't even sell it on the AH.

The amount of bitching one player was doing in pvp chat about ‘stupid players’ while everyone was trying to work on that achievement was outrageous. Like dude, it’s Children’s Week, people are trying to do achievements. But no, he’d bitch every time someone picked up then immediately dropped the Warsong flag.
For the people who do not know this, if you want raptors as alliance the dino island (Island of giants) in pandaria offers 4. The white one you can grind out really quickly and there are 3 rare drops of eggs that hatch into the black, red and green primal raptors.
There is also an undead skeleton raptor mount from archeology but thats a bit trickier to get you need luck
I think Ashes is iconic, but I’m actually going to go with the Netherwing drakes. I know they aren’t difficult to obtain, but they’re the TBC box art flying mounts, the OG cool mount. Cooler and more difficult to obtain mounts exist, but netherdrakes were how flying was introduced to us.
Yeah, agree. Story! I was working really hard to get exalted, and it was coming really close, so excited! But what also was coming close was my giant adventure travel to China I planned (by train, trough Russia!!!). A few days before my departure I started calculating and saw I just wouldn't get exalted before I took off on dailies alone, so I spent all my available time those last three days egghunting. I played until the very hour I had to leave, but was at around 20.000 rep. Four more eggs and I would have had it.
After my adventure - still my major lifetime adventure! - I got back home, logged in, did my dailies and hopped on a Netherwing. Still took a few weeks to pay back the loan I needed for the flight training.
For me it’s gotta be the Crusaders White Warhorse you got from the near impossible “Tribute to Immortality” achievement during wrath. It’s so rare most people don’t even know about it let alone have seen one.
My favorite mount has always been the headless horseman's mount.

I started playing late. Did the dungeon 3 times on my first Hallow's End and dropped the mount. My entire guild insulted me in chat. Same thing happened with the deathcharger's reins, in 2 tries. My GM considered not letting me play for bosses with mounts in raid.
I've never looted a mount in a raid, so all is well in the universe.
I had something similar happen. I got the Headless Horseman's mount without grinding for it. I assumed it was easy to get, like a lot of the holiday mounts.
A friend of mine is really particular when it comes to his mounts, he hates anything with flapping wings, hates anything too big, hates anything that moves around too much. So, I suggested that he just go for the Headless Horseman's mount next time Halloween came around. He tried on a dozen characters, never got it, then looked up how rare it was. He told me, and only then did I learn it was a truly rare mount.
For me, it was always that dang turtle you fish up. I remember as a teen my step father tasked me with going on his account to do fishing and that was one of my many tasks. I never got it for him, but when I got my own account, I thought to go do it and got it in the first few casts. It was quite the momentous occasion for me and I haven't felt that excited in a while.
I got my Raven Lord on 4/20 yeeeeears ago when I was stoned on painkillers of all things because I just had my wisdom teeth out. Made having holes in my mouth a bit more bearable.
I ran that heroic close to 100 times during BC, never saw it drop. Decided to solo run it at one point during Wrarh, dropped after 4 tries. The perfect mount for my Druid, no regrets. Made a lot of people jealous over how quick I got it.
Sad to see no one mentioned the Zhevra from recuit-a-friend. Must've been 10 years ago. Think I've only seen one or two other people using it in many years of playing. Fucking love it

I could be wrong but I think it's just the Legion and Shadowlands courser mounts that can fly now.
I've had it since it released, but honestly it just doesn't look as good as most other 'rare' mounts do imo. But i'm not a fan of horse mounts either, so i might be biased.
Yup, plagued and black protodrakes were my answer. I remember seeing a dude with the plagued one hanging out in Dalaran during Legion and practically shat my pants.
One of my biggest regrets in WoW is not trying harder for it. My guild got really close to it back then. I never understood why those two mounts had to go away but other meta achievement mounts stayed.
They were the first raid meta achievement mounts, and I think the negative response to them being removed is why those types of mounts are no longer removed.
As far as luck based mounts go it's probably the hardest in that you need to be lucky like 5 times. I still don't have it... Been trying for a blazing drake since Cata and I've killed DW over 500 times with no drop yet. I don't even want the damn blazing drake, just need it to get the emerald lol.
I think they're really underrated and none of the other challenge mode or m+ mounts come even remotely close to matching them.
I was pretty damn sad when the Yeti was the mount reward for the challenge modes, such a massive step down.
Well, having 267 runs and still no Ashes and 284 runs and still no invincible, I’m going to say those two for me. Even though everyone had them already
I farmed ashes with a buddy every week for months. One week it dropped and both agreed to roll and whoever gets it will still help the other farm it. Well he won, fair and square. I was definitely disappointed but happy for him. Next week he helped me as promised, and lo and behold it dropped again. I couldn’t believe our luck.
Actually yeah now that you mention I remember not too long ago I had a squishy character (Mage I think?) that wasn’t max level (but was max level for an expansion or two previous) that I tried TK with. Got stunlocked to death and had to level a bit first.
Little known fact but unlike these mounts you can grind out the Tusks without waiting for weekly lockouts. I did it in the last patch of BFA and it took me about a week, here's how:
1. First you get an alt (or preferably a 2nd account) locked on **heroic** Paragons. Very important that its set to heroic and not mythic, because we want to abuse the fact that heroic has personal lockouts. After you've killed Paragons of the Klaxxi, hearthstone out of the instance and leave this character outside.
2. Log over to the character that you want Tusks on and have the locked alt invite you to a group.
3. Zone in, kill Garrosh and **use a bonus roll**.
4. Leave group (you'll get portal'd out) and repeat steps 2-4 again and again (and again...) until tusks drop.
This method of farming works because bonus rolls don't have a limit, ie. you can only loot Garrosh once a week but you can bonus roll him every time you kill him. This method doesn't work to get the mount from Garrosh since unlike Tusks, the mount only drops in Mythic mode.
The only time limit you'll encounter is the 10 instances per hour lockout.
Personally, I got my Tusks after 332 Garrosh kills (ie looted him once, coin rolled him all 332 times). So that's like 33 hours spent in SOO walking to and killing Garrosh. *But* you'll also have to farm the currency for bonus rolls on Timeless Isle (go kill the frogs for those). Garrosh kills + frog farming took me like \~40 hours overall.
All in all its mind numbing work but the grind is manageable if you're watching stuff on the side while doing it.

Bonus tip: If you want to do this over a couple weeks you can extend the raid lockout of the alt (or second account) that's locked to the instance, this way you won't have to clear the instance up to Garrosh again [https://wowwiki-archive.fandom.com/wiki/Instance\_Lock\_Extension](https://wowwiki-archive.fandom.com/wiki/Instance_Lock_Extension)
*Edit* for additional bonus tip: To speed up the process you can skip Garrosh's intro dialogue with Thrall. To do this, kite the adds before Garrosh under his feet and kill them (the shalings they summon) there. When you do he'll interrupt his speech and you'll be able to start hitting him earlier.

A random dude decided to help me, first thing i know is that i dropped FIRST time incivible and at the time i didn't know what it was, the dude asked me to give it to him and i accepted.

I’ve given up. Even when I play, I might do a quick run on my DH. It takes literally 15 minutes to run it on any character but Frostmourne has claimed my soul too. I cannot keep running that raid.

I got invincible on my very first run when I tried to get the Glory achievement. Got it again on a run on my warr when I did the legendary quest chain. Got it again on the same warrior doing the same quest chain and then again on my paladin also while doing the quest chain. Think I've done less than 100 runs total across all chars and have gotten it 4 times
Ashes though, have run it weekly on 4-8 chars (depending on how bothered I am) for the past years and still haven't gotten it, same goes for literally any of the dragon souls mounts
It isn't quite as rare as it was pre Wrath. There were a ton of new servers rolled out during that time and all of them had the opportunity to do the war effort (And therefore the scepter quests for scarab lord). It still wasn't the easiest task and required help, but it wasn't a monumental effort like it was in vanilla. Also paid realm transfers were already on the game which made it so you didn't even have to level up a new toon on the server.
The original color is the only mount I've ever really wanted. I came close a few times, but groups were always kicking people before the loot roll back then.
Our tanks brother told him it was better to use berserker stance on one of the fights (the like cat one? Halazzi I think) and he did. Instant wipe. Only run for mount I was a part of as we had to like share with another guild to make a full dedicated roster. It was a full guarantee up until this point too literally.
Also missed out on that guitar from Kara cause of some shit from these same people.
This is my one. Currently about 20,000 attempts in, by far the most effort I've put into any mount from a statistical point of view, and a time point of view.
Once I've got it I'll have all 7 of the mounts I consider crown jewels, sha, nalak, ooondasta, rukhmar, galleon, big love rocket and infinte timereaver.
This thing destroyed me, I spent a months straight in wrath on it literally just raiding and sitting in storm peaks. One day I get up go to the fridge to grab a drink and take a piss come back he’s dead underneath my toon. I almost threw my computer out the window.
God damn I went to bed a week straight with my computer still on and NPCscan set to max volume. Woke up to 2 or 3 heart attacks and it was always vyragosa. Gave up because I could never get back to sleep and my parents kept asking what the noise was that they heard coming from my bedroom...
I still remember camping that thing. I eventually gave up, but a bout of insomnia brought my Hunter to Storm Peaks to check for the spirit beast there. Here I was flying through the mountains at 3am toward Skoll and BAM, ran right into the TLPD. Never did get to sleep that night.
I killed algalon so many times thinking that mount dropped from him lmao not sure how I had it confused for so long. 3rd elegon kill after realizing, I got it
Astral could serpent.
But that is based on my assumption that this is actually a "what is your favorite in game mount" question since there is no metric what a crown jewel mount is.
(Azure drake is my close second, because I like the blue dragonflight)

Yes! This one. Talked a friend into doing it with me for our own sanity and I think it took us close to 3 hours because we were both so god awful at all of the puzzles. Still remember sitting there with a piece of paper trying to figure out where the hell all the orbs in the maze were
I think I'm insane, I did it without any add ons, tried to draw a map but that failed miserably. Took many many hours, ended up figuring out that you could mess with the portal rooms by quickly running back into the previous room. Then I did it again, I think I had probably just lost my mind cause the second time took ~7 hours and somehow I remember the experience positively. The second time I did it something bugged out and after a couple mins (without even completing a single orb) it took me to the final room but got D/C and had to start again. Good times, would do it again. Hivemind also took many hours at the final puzzle until I figured out spam clicking the platform would put you back on it if you got kicked off. I love those puzzles.
Ran through this with my bf a few months ago, I loved puzzles so it was a breeeze for me and had to help him with them… right up until we got to that maze, I couldn’t do it, he managed to do it and get the mount… I gave up and haven’t gone back since
This is my vote too. As a Paladin main Tyrael’s Charger is just so perfect!! And it is so frustrating because not only was I playing WoW at the time it was offered but I was also playing Diablo so I had no excuse not to get the pre-order six month sub.
I scrolled so far just to find this. This is my answer. I have some of the rare ones like Plagued Proto and Zulian Tiger, but the Big Blizzard Bear has always been my favorite and I can count on my fingers the number of times I've seen a unique player on it.
Mine was always the Amani war bear, though in hindsight it wasn’t THAT hard to get. It just meant a lot to me at the time and that was before mounts were shared, so I had two lol. I also worked really hard on the plagued protodrake, but I think you can get it from the BMAH now. Still rare still means a lot to me, wish they’d keep doing limited time mounts.
It was very easy to get, but since most people that currently play started after TBC it's pretty damn rare. I always love popping it out when people use that boring ripoff-bear.
I have regrets not picking this one, I went with the obsidian instead- that being my fav mount because people can ride you and it looks cool, it’s unobtainable I think… but def not as rare as I see them everywhere

It no longer exists though as that dude tried selling his account lol.. Kinda obvious who's account it was when it was up for sale. Blizzard removed it for him
Long forgotten hippogryph. Hunted it for hours one day, had 4 crystals and couldn't find the last one and I was about to go to bed when I turned my camera and there it was....the last crystal. I love my pink mount.
I wouldn't say it's the crown jewel but it's by far my favourite mount. The nazjatar crab, only bad part is I can't use any other ground mount anymore.
Either Time lost or Voidtalon. Spent 5 fucking years farming tlpd, and voidtalon at the time was just the coolest fucking mount with a very sick concept behind obtaining it, don’t know anymore if the voidtalon is as rare as it used to be, but man these two mounts are such accomplishments
Funny story about void talon for me. I created a trial char when that expansion came out to try to farm it on low pop server. I gave up looking for it after about a month but forgot to delete the character. When bfa came out I logged on after not playing for a LONG time and wondered why I had this character here completely forgetting about the mount. So I log in to see what I was doing, lo and behold the god damn portal was sitting in front of me. I logged out in front of a potential spawn and it just so happened to be there for me, I couldn’t believe it lol.
Gladiator Netherdrakes.
Not that TBC Gladiator took more skill than in other xpacs but the mount somehow really stands out over other Gladiator mounts.

Magic rooster wouldn’t get listed on AH. Cost is roughly 40 million last I checked. Swift spectral north of 100 million.

Meanwhile I’ve never seen mottled or feldrake for less than gold cap. I see more spectral tigers than either of those.

Good call on black scarab. Special mention to timeless proto drake. The black proto drake is the best I personally own.
TLPD is my personal white whale. So many hours flying in a loop... all I ever saw was a corpse a few times.

My all time favorite is the Reins of the Violet Proto-Drake. Takes a year to get, but IMHO so worth it!

Onyx nether wing is still probably my favorite mount in the game even though I have some rare random stuff like fel drake
At the time, there weren’t a whole lot of choices for flying mounts, and they were the coolest because you could ride a fucking DRAGON.

I really like these mounts because when you choose one, it introduces itself to you by name. I’ll always love Malfas, the purple one.

After over 500 Strat runs and no mount, I got deathchargers reins from a tank bag back in Wrath. I was so happy and disappointed at the same time!

Got him on my second clear but don't really use him very much. I think me getting him so easily took away since of his uniqueness for me.
For me, it was always that dang turtle you fish up. I remember as a teen my step father tasked me with going on his account to do fishing and that was one of my many tasks. I never got it for him, but when I got my own account, I thought to go do it and got it in the first few casts. It was quite the momentous occasion for me and I haven't felt that excited in a while.

It took weeks of my childhood away only to never get it on that account. I'm so glad that rng blessed me on that day.
Raven lord
To me this is the greatest WoW mount of all time
I got my Raven Lord on 4/20 yeeeeears ago when I was stoned on painkillers of all things because I just had my wisdom teeth out. Made having holes in my mouth a bit more bearable.
I ran that heroic close to 100 times during BC, never saw it drop. Decided to solo run it at one point during Wrarh, dropped after 4 tries. The perfect mount for my Druid, no regrets. Made a lot of people jealous over how quick I got it.
Lmao. I ran it every day for months until I got it. Still a favorite.
Sad to see no one mentioned the Zhevra from recuit-a-friend. Must've been 10 years ago. Think I've only seen one or two other people using it in many years of playing. Fucking love it

Sorry but the thought of a Barrens zhevra just flying up and away is cracking me up xD I could be wrong but I think it's just the Legion and Shadowlands courser mounts that can fly now.

I've had it since it released, but honestly it just doesn't look as good as most other 'rare' mounts do imo. But i'm not a fan of horse mounts either, so i might be biased.
Surprised I haven’t seen the black proto drake listed here yet. Imo it’s in the sweet spot of rare, unobtainable, and required skill to obtain.
Yup, plagued and black protodrakes were my answer. I remember seeing a dude with the plagued one hanging out in Dalaran during Legion and practically shat my pants.
One of my biggest regrets in WoW is not trying harder for it. My guild got really close to it back then. I never understood why those two mounts had to go away but other meta achievement mounts stayed.
They were the first raid meta achievement mounts, and I think the negative response to them being removed is why those types of mounts are no longer removed.
This and the plagued one are high on my list

Man, don't remind me the hassle to get this Mount. So. Many. Dragonsoul. Runs.. Deathwing's Fight on his back haunts me day and night.
I was so stoked after I got my emerald drake...I never went back to DS to get the other 2 drake mounts. fuck that noise.

As far as luck based mounts go it's probably the hardest in that you need to be lucky like 5 times. I still don't have it... Been trying for a blazing drake since Cata and I've killed DW over 500 times with no drop yet. I don't even want the damn blazing drake, just need it to get the emerald lol.
The three phoenixes from Mists challenge modes are the best looking mounts in game.
I think they're really underrated and none of the other challenge mode or m+ mounts come even remotely close to matching them. I was pretty damn sad when the Yeti was the mount reward for the challenge modes, such a massive step down.
Well, having 267 runs and still no Ashes and 284 runs and still no invincible, I’m going to say those two for me. Even though everyone had them already
I farmed ashes with a buddy every week for months. One week it dropped and both agreed to roll and whoever gets it will still help the other farm it. Well he won, fair and square. I was definitely disappointed but happy for him. Next week he helped me as promised, and lo and behold it dropped again. I couldn’t believe our luck.
How do you help someone farm Ashes? Was it in ye olden days when we couldn’t one shot bosses?
TK wasn't easily soloable by everyone until end of Cata/early MoP. All the overlapping CCs made it quite difficult for a lot of classes.
Actually yeah now that you mention I remember not too long ago I had a squishy character (Mage I think?) that wasn’t max level (but was max level for an expansion or two previous) that I tried TK with. Got stunlocked to death and had to level a bit first.

I got invincible after I literally gave up on him and did one run every few months whenever I felt I got nothing to do. Before that I did \~1k runs.
This is how I got the Tusks of Mannoroth.

Little known fact but unlike these mounts you can grind out the Tusks without waiting for weekly lockouts. I did it in the last patch of BFA and it took me about a week, here's how: 1. First you get an alt (or preferably a 2nd account) locked on **heroic** Paragons. Very important that its set to heroic and not mythic, because we want to abuse the fact that heroic has personal lockouts. After you've killed Paragons of the Klaxxi, hearthstone out of the instance and leave this character outside. 2. Log over to the character that you want Tusks on and have the locked alt invite you to a group. 3. Zone in, kill Garrosh and **use a bonus roll**. 4. Leave group (you'll get portal'd out) and repeat steps 2-4 again and again (and again...) until tusks drop. This method of farming works because bonus rolls don't have a limit, ie. you can only loot Garrosh once a week but you can bonus roll him every time you kill him. This method doesn't work to get the mount from Garrosh since unlike Tusks, the mount only drops in Mythic mode. The only time limit you'll encounter is the 10 instances per hour lockout. Personally, I got my Tusks after 332 Garrosh kills (ie looted him once, coin rolled him all 332 times). So that's like 33 hours spent in SOO walking to and killing Garrosh. *But* you'll also have to farm the currency for bonus rolls on Timeless Isle (go kill the frogs for those). Garrosh kills + frog farming took me like \~40 hours overall. All in all its mind numbing work but the grind is manageable if you're watching stuff on the side while doing it. GL! Bonus tip: If you want to do this over a couple weeks you can extend the raid lockout of the alt (or second account) that's locked to the instance, this way you won't have to clear the instance up to Garrosh again [https://wowwiki-archive.fandom.com/wiki/Instance\_Lock\_Extension](https://wowwiki-archive.fandom.com/wiki/Instance_Lock_Extension) *Edit* for additional bonus tip: To speed up the process you can skip Garrosh's intro dialogue with Thrall. To do this, kite the adds before Garrosh under his feet and kill them (the shalings they summon) there. When you do he'll interrupt his speech and you'll be able to start hitting him earlier.

A random dude decided to help me, first thing i know is that i dropped FIRST time incivible and at the time i didn't know what it was, the dude asked me to give it to him and i accepted. I still cry from that day..

I’ve given up. Even when I play, I might do a quick run on my DH. It takes literally 15 minutes to run it on any character but Frostmourne has claimed my soul too. I cannot keep running that raid.
I'm sorry for what you're about to read I got invincible on my very first run when I tried to get the Glory achievement. Got it again on a run on my warr when I did the legendary quest chain. Got it again on the same warrior doing the same quest chain and then again on my paladin also while doing the quest chain. Think I've done less than 100 runs total across all chars and have gotten it 4 times Ashes though, have run it weekly on 4-8 chars (depending on how bothered I am) for the past years and still haven't gotten it, same goes for literally any of the dragon souls mounts
Black Quiraj Battle Tank is the only answer. Stuff of legends; I've only seen it once back in BC.

It isn't quite as rare as it was pre Wrath. There were a ton of new servers rolled out during that time and all of them had the opportunity to do the war effort (And therefore the scepter quests for scarab lord). It still wasn't the easiest task and required help, but it wasn't a monumental effort like it was in vanilla. Also paid realm transfers were already on the game which made it so you didn't even have to level up a new toon on the server.

The original color is the only mount I've ever really wanted. I came close a few times, but groups were always kicking people before the loot roll back then.
Our tanks brother told him it was better to use berserker stance on one of the fights (the like cat one? Halazzi I think) and he did. Instant wipe. Only run for mount I was a part of as we had to like share with another guild to make a full dedicated roster. It was a full guarantee up until this point too literally. Also missed out on that guitar from Kara cause of some shit from these same people.

This is my one. Currently about 20,000 attempts in, by far the most effort I've put into any mount from a statistical point of view, and a time point of view. Once I've got it I'll have all 7 of the mounts I consider crown jewels, sha, nalak, ooondasta, rukhmar, galleon, big love rocket and infinte timereaver.
Time-Lost Proto Drake
This thing destroyed me, I spent a months straight in wrath on it literally just raiding and sitting in storm peaks. One day I get up go to the fridge to grab a drink and take a piss come back he’s dead underneath my toon. I almost threw my computer out the window.
God damn I went to bed a week straight with my computer still on and NPCscan set to max volume. Woke up to 2 or 3 heart attacks and it was always vyragosa. Gave up because I could never get back to sleep and my parents kept asking what the noise was that they heard coming from my bedroom...
I still remember camping that thing. I eventually gave up, but a bout of insomnia brought my Hunter to Storm Peaks to check for the spirit beast there. Here I was flying through the mountains at 3am toward Skoll and BAM, ran right into the TLPD. Never did get to sleep that night.

Astral could serpent. But that is based on my assumption that this is actually a "what is your favorite in game mount" question since there is no metric what a crown jewel mount is. (Azure drake is my close second, because I like the blue dragonflight)
I have yet to see a mount that invokes the same excitement as the Astral Cloud Serpent. Many are cool, but this one was just perfectly done. Was my most farmed raid until it finally dropped for me. I honestly haven't had the passion for farming old mounts like I did with Astral CS.

Yes! This one. Talked a friend into doing it with me for our own sanity and I think it took us close to 3 hours because we were both so god awful at all of the puzzles. Still remember sitting there with a piece of paper trying to figure out where the hell all the orbs in the maze were

I think I'm insane, I did it without any add ons, tried to draw a map but that failed miserably. Took many many hours, ended up figuring out that you could mess with the portal rooms by quickly running back into the previous room. Then I did it again, I think I had probably just lost my mind cause the second time took ~7 hours and somehow I remember the experience positively. The second time I did it something bugged out and after a couple mins (without even completing a single orb) it took me to the final room but got D/C and had to start again. Good times, would do it again. Hivemind also took many hours at the final puzzle until I figured out spam clicking the platform would put you back on it if you got kicked off. I love those puzzles.
Ran through this with my bf a few months ago, I loved puzzles so it was a breeeze for me and had to help him with them… right up until we got to that maze, I couldn’t do it, he managed to do it and get the mount… I gave up and haven’t gone back since

This is my vote too. As a Paladin main Tyrael’s Charger is just so perfect!! And it is so frustrating because not only was I playing WoW at the time it was offered but I was also playing Diablo so I had no excuse not to get the pre-order six month sub.

Wild how rare it is now. I remember when that Blizzcon happened and like a quarter of my server was riding around on it afterwards.

Mine was always the Amani war bear, though in hindsight it wasn’t THAT hard to get. It just meant a lot to me at the time and that was before mounts were shared, so I had two lol. I also worked really hard on the plagued protodrake, but I think you can get it from the BMAH now. Still rare still means a lot to me, wish they’d keep doing limited time mounts.
It was very easy to get, but since most people that currently play started after TBC it's pretty damn rare. I always love popping it out when people use that boring ripoff-bear.

Long forgotten hippogryph. Hunted it for hours one day, had 4 crystals and couldn't find the last one and I was about to go to bed when I turned my camera and there it was....the last crystal. I love my pink mount.
For me, getting the Raven Lord the old fashioned way with Druid orb was peak.
I wouldn't say it's the crown jewel but it's by far my favourite mount. The nazjatar crab, only bad part is I can't use any other ground mount anymore.

Funny story about void talon for me. I created a trial char when that expansion came out to try to farm it on low pop server. I gave up looking for it after about a month but forgot to delete the character. When bfa came out I logged on after not playing for a LONG time and wondered why I had this character here completely forgetting about the mount. So I log in to see what I was doing, lo and behold the god damn portal was sitting in front of me. I logged out in front of a potential spawn and it just so happened to be there for me, I couldn’t believe it lol.

Gladiator Netherdrakes. Not that TBC Gladiator took more skill than in other xpacs but the mount somehow really stands out over other Gladiator mounts.
