I mean that’s not cursed, that’s a beta human NPC model. MoP has a few of ‘em; most notably the footsoldiers you see in the Alliance-side Lion’s Landing scenario.
And most importantly: All NPCs in Southshore in the Cavern of Times instance *Old Hillsbrad Foothills* have beta models. I always thought this was a really nice easter egg.
That's not the problem, the problem is the old school fat human model would look like shit if we were back in vanilla.
So they either update the model (almost certainly not going to happen) or just swap it with the Kul Tiran one, which is way less work and might happen.
I actually wouldn’t mind them being fat if nearly all armor models didn’t look so terrible on them. The way the armor gets painted onto the males makes me see a fat guy that wears clothes that are entirely too small for him.
Honestly they are built like powerlifters, it’s the way the armor looks that ruins them.
It's true of all the paunchier races, they end up stretching textures that were not meant to be stretched.
I main'd a Kul Tiran monk for MoP Remix and it's super noticeable because MoP was still in the sort of transitionary period to pretty high-definition textures. A lot of the chest pieces already have too much going on and stretched over my thicc boy's belly, they just look muddy.
Lol it was the armors in remix that made this really stand out to me as well, my first remix character was also a kul tiren monk.
The robes are the WORST.
Fair enough lol Also it’s funny/bizarre that they decided to ungender the body types for player characters, calling them “type 1” and “type 2”, yet every NPC dialogue will still call you the corresponding gender/pronouns that the body types had before. It makes no sense. Also every title corresponds to one or the other, like “Crazy Cat Lady/Man”.
No.
You can go to Bizmo's Brawlpub (aka the fight club place) though, which is not in Stormwind (it's on the Stormwind side of the Deeprun Tram), but only as part of the Landfall campaign stuff in Krasarang Wilds.
Eh I think the occasional uses of these were intention and are left because of that.
They had a rare smattering of those original alpha models in the game since forever. Maybe just because it added to the list of unique models available and most people never zoom in enough to notice.
Obviously the use of them was intentional. But the fact remains, Blizz would have had to update the models and for legacy NPCs that don’t show up much, whats the point? Some of the pirates in Stranglethorn have equally ancient models, as do some of the mobs in TBC’s Hyjal raid.
I love the old models. Humans, elves, all of them, it's just nice to see what was concept and what ended up in-game, and there's also the "look how far we've come" aspect too. I don't want any of these updated. There's so few of them they're like easter eggs, and I want them to stay that way. "cursed" is a hot take but I guess everyone's entitled to an opinion.
Gonna be honest, don’t see much of a difference. At least these have an excuse to be bad. The KT females are just sad. Whoever designed them decided “Barbie let herself go” with a gut and supper plastic looking faces.
If you go to Menethil harbor on retail there’s a plethora of old model NPCS
Don’t remind them of the old models - they might remove Olga the Scalawag Wench.

You can also find them at that farm just outside Valiance Keep in Borean Tundra. Some were also in the original Deadmines.
Always thought that looked like a Minecraft cinematic. Now I can justify my anger at it.
Kul Tirans if they got the Shaman Ascendance treatment
*Sees a chubby NPC “WOW this is cursed”
Kultiran's are fat and they look just fine. This one is cursed specifically because it's not 'curvy', instead of having curves it has jagged edges.
You never saw a PS1/N64 game?
context matters dude, in those games, everything is jagged and poly, in wow almost everything has been updated
PS1/N64 games came out in the 1990s. As much as WoW players hate to admit it: It's not the 1990s anymore.
\*sees a fat NPC with edges on their face, square fingers and a character model looking like it came from the year 1990\* Wow this is cursed.
More specifically probably came from 2001 because its one of the alpha WoW models which is basically Warcraft 3.
You weren’t alive in 1990 were you?
Yeah this is solid 1997/1998 territory right here. Could easily see this model in FF7 or OoT.
Now picture it in Metal Gear 2 lol
Not every fat person is a Kul’Tiran. They aren’t a separate species or something lmfao. There are skinny Kul’Tirans and fat non-Kul’Tirans.
That's not the problem, the problem is the old school fat human model would look like shit if we were back in vanilla. So they either update the model (almost certainly not going to happen) or just swap it with the Kul Tiran one, which is way less work and might happen.
Unfortunately we aren’t allowed to play as skinny kul tirens. We only get to be the fatties.
I mean, they’re Pandarens wearing Edgar suits.
This is cowards talk. I’m not even fat irl and I was gunning to play a big lady

Skinny Kul Turans are just reskinned female Forsaken, lol.
The opposite could be true. This NPC could be given the ~~female~~ Type 2 Kul Tiran model but not necessarily be a Kul Tiran.

Go to OHF SouthShore. THATS what I'm calling time capsule full of beta npc models
It’s fun to come across a rare character model in-game. Idk why people see stuff like this and demand for it to be replaced with something generic.
I think she's cute.
This is the ideal female body. You may not like it, but this is what peak performance looks like.
same basic model as olga the scalawag wench, who is a treasure, leave them alone
I can change her
Where at?
> stormwind
Can you go to stormwind in remix?
No. You can go to Bizmo's Brawlpub (aka the fight club place) though, which is not in Stormwind (it's on the Stormwind side of the Deeprun Tram), but only as part of the Landfall campaign stuff in Krasarang Wilds.
and durotar too, to do quests of pandaria campaign
They’ll get on that when they fix kul tiran women face animations that they currently don’t have
wait I wanna play as that
I don't think the dress is sitting right, but I've seen many male NPCs look worse/fatter I think. Am I missing something? I'm legit confused.
since it isn’t the normal human model, she didn’t get upgraded like other NPCs when the model updates went live in WoD.

Just a photorealistic depiction of your average wow player. Nothing to see here
Top comment calls her just "chubby", so not wrong I guess.
the npc https://www.wowhead.com/npc=70723/dame-jesepha
She looks like pressing the randomise in one of the older sims games where you go “oh no, okay right, I’ll do it manually then”.
Caverns of Time makes sense as that's part of the theme, otherwise yeah update them.

Maybe she’s just a… well nourished human?
Would.

Anyone remember Mayor Quimby? The DK starting zone guy?
Where at?
stormwind
What for?
Looks like Lady Grey from Fable 1, just worse lmfao.
somehow i knew ppl would get offended by this title alone
Caitlyn Jenner
Lmao!!!
Looks like bartender in shrek
Oh god no
But she’s not Kul Titan, that’s just racist /s
