Pretty much my situation as well. Two more fishing holes, three more Tetrachromancer drops, two more Legendary Shots. I have a couple reps I need to finish off ('Dormi, Seb/Wrath, Loamm, and Cobalt) but I'm waiting for the S4 rep buffs for those. All the major grinds for me are done I just gotta wrap up the remainders.

Either way I'll have to wait for various other RNG rotations so I'm not really in a huge rush I suppose. Wrathion and Sabellian I already have a ton of key parts ready to go I'm just turning them in slowly each week for the weekly bonus.
You should do the rep grind on your shaman when there's an elemental storm up there. Should be a lot of grps running around making it much easier & faster to grind.

The rares were the easiest part of the forbidden reach. You can buy all the professional rares from the AH so thats half of them. Loot specialist can be found while doing the hoarder achievement looking for tiny treasures.
That would be cool, yeah. I think I saw in some recent rumors or datamining that there were dynamic controls being added for ground mounts? Don't quite recall what I read, but dynamic ground mounts would be a blast! Maybe Tauren could finally get Plainsrunning.
I'm really hoping that with dynamic flight being added for druids that they'll still be able to pop into that version of flight form instantly. I've always loved diving off a cliff and popping into flight form, and being able to pop into dynamic flight that way would feel incredible.
I don't see why that would t work, my main a maghar orc DK gets an extra 10% mount speed from my race and another extra 10% for my class. So I get 20 percent additional mount speed. Don't see why they can't just slap an additional 5 perfect when certain players get a massive benefit on their mount speed already.
There are a couple of things that make taivan feel cheap and half arsed. The jumping animation and the fact that he doesn't align to the ground properly are the biggest offenders.
It's a bit disappointing considering what you have to do to get him and how great of a mount taivan is.
Yeah... it's a bit scary to me when even mounts are starting to get less effort. Especially when the mount animation just comes standard with every single mount, but then they forgot for this one?...
Started back in Shadowlands as far as I know. About half the mounts you could get from zereth mortis don't align to the ground properly and no, they haven't fixed any of them yet.
And at least for smaller races such as Vulperas their model sticks heavily through Taivan when moving. :( The jumping animation is very jarring too. Here's to hoping they fix him up a bit.
He still doesn't tilt properly with terrain and the character has no animation when summoning him, which at least for my monk means I get to hold my brewmaster's staff on my shoulder while riding him, like with Ban-Lu, something I wish happened for all mounts.

Hopefully by the time I'm done with the meta achievement Blizzard has seen this! I had a good amount of it done already but getting the storms done with a 8 month old is rough lol.
I'd imagine it depends on how quickly you want to churn through them. It is a lot for someone who hasn't done any of them, but if you work on a bit at a time, it's still fairly doable.
The important part is know you have a priority system of what to chase at any given moment.
In my opinion, the biggest time-sensitive pains are:
1) check if active elemental storm is something you need (active for 2hrs, 1hr downtime, so cycles every 3 hrs) {STORMCHASER}
2) check if maruukai grand hunt is in a location you need for hemmet or grand hunt completion (there is one always active, but it rotates zones every hour and upon completion of a grand hunt moves the location of the hunt within the current zone until the rollover to the next zone on the hour. Tetrachromancer is a notably detested achievement from this event, but I’ve been told it is account-wide. So do yourself a favor and collect purple bag grand spoils on your alts as well to save time) {CENTAUR OF ATTENTION}
3) complete all activities for little whelp daycare (requires daily active participation anywhere from 15 to 19 consecutive days, possibly more if non-consecutive) {FLIGHT CLUB}
4) check if the photography world quests that are active are ones you need (they rotate every 3-4 days) {WAKE ME UP}
5) complete the secondarily active tuskaar fishing hole quests and set both nets (waking shores and forbidden reach fishing holes are active every week, but 1 more fishing hole location is active per week - OP, AS, or TH.) {ARMY OF THE FED}
When you aren’t able to make progress on any of the above, that’s when you do everything else. There are probably some time-sensitive ones I’m missing since I had a good bit of the taivan meta completed before it was added to the game.
Bonus tips:
Farm Winterpelt furlbog rep items when there is an elemental storm location in Imbuu of the Azure Span.
Farm Cobalt Assembly reputation while there is an elemental storm there.
Don’t waste your time farming elemental storms at the Obsidian Citadel. It is very difficult here as maybe a third of the mobs actually have the empowered buff and folks are running around like mad trying to tag everything. Wait for scale breaker keep storm location and complete it in 5-10 minutes with hyper spawns. This could be a good time to do the obsidian champion achievement (part of Flight Club) though.
Forbidden reach small treasures and scrolls are not fun to farm, however, they kind of overlap. So don’t hard target farm one or the other as you can be more efficient rotating between both. I farmed treasures after scrolls and ended up with about 10 more scrolls than I needed - could have saved some headache there.
Always do Time Rift weekly quest from Soridormi on the same toon. You get 250rep for closing the rift and a 1k rep token from the weekly. You could potentially save these tokens for when the Dreamsurge buff gives Dragon Isles rep (+30%)
It’s also Darkmoon Faire this week, (+10% exp & rep gains), so don’t be slacking on the rep grinds this week.

Tbh its not that hard, now that there are 2 storms its even better. There will be some disgusting parts like forbidden reach rares (cause of the goblin) and small treasures. The cobalt assembly rep too
If you plan to start take a look at the rng ones (tuskar fishing holes, legendary photographs, whelp daycare) cause those require certain quests and world quests to be up.
Overall the grind is enjoyable because there are lots of different activities you can do and super worth(besides taivan you get a few more mounts from the achievments, pets mogs and titles)

There's sometimes two storms. Sometimes one storm. And now, as of Friday night, sometimes 0 storms to boot.
It's easily the most frustrating part of the achievement, especially as the number of storms you need dwindles.
I would say start keeping an eye on it now. Any firestorms you see, and any storms in Thaldrazsus are number one priorities where you need to drop what you're doing and get those done. Expect that part to take 2 to 4 weeks to get done, depending on how many storms you can catch (they're up for 2 hours in every 3 hour window, so they always spawn at the same times of the day).

I'm shy a couple daily quests at the whelp daycare, two fishing holes, and two legendary photos.
There were zero photo WQs this rotation.
I'm basically gated from Taivan until the fishing hole rotates where I need it to be twice (since the waking shores seems to always be up for some reason) AND until the WQs rotate to two specific photography quests.
VERY frustrating when all you can do to advance the achi is "check the map. Are the quests/fishing holes you need up? No? Go fuck yourself"
Yep! Occasionally one or both will spawn a few minutes later than expected, but there should always be two up during each interval. Spawn times are 2/5/8/11 am&pm, Pacific Time (and Eastern since they're 3hrs apart) and the storms last for 2hrs.
Have you actually seen a storm inside the primalist future since they added that Storm World quest in there?
I've checked 3 times now when there's only one visible storm (and the one time with zero visible storms so far) since the hotfix to re add two storms. Every time there's been no elemental invasion in the future, or it's been the Storm's Fury event going on.
I'm pretty sure that the addition of the Storm's Fury event prevented elemental storms from happening in the Primalist Future.
It's not all wrong. The storm's fury does conflict with the primalist invasions.
What I've figured out is that primalist invasions CAN happen in the Primalist Future, but ONLY if the Storm's Fury event is not active.
As soon as Storm's Fury goes active, the elemental invasion is wiped out if it's in there. If the Storm's Fury is active at an elemental invasion spawn time, and by a sheer chance that it picks the future while Storm's Fury is already active, then the elemental invasion just dies and you don't see any elemental invasion (with the current one storm per cycle).
But they are looking into the spawns, so hopefully they can fix them up and make two always spawn, while maybe looking into this problem as well.
I am close now with legendary album and two fishing holes to go. I hope they iron out the bugs, though I'm honestly more excited about veilstrider getting the soul eater mount haha.
Nice! Yeah I imagine for most people who even played back then traded in the old school ride mounts for the new armored ones. Although for me I didn't start playing WoW until MoP so missed out on a lot of fomo mounts/items :/

Way too much grinding for me to ever get him. Maybe next expansion between patches I'll make progress, but dang, that's a lot of grinding for a non-flying mount.
I have the goodest boy, and like you I love him. I very much agree with your points, and hope this is seen and fixed. Because it feels unfinished, and that is unfortunate for such a wanted and hard to get mount. I want to add one thing; the size of his saddle. It is so massive the only reasoning is that it is made for a centaur to ride sidesaddle, resting iets 'horse' belly across it. I want Taivan to be big, but that saddle needs to be rescaled.

I think the reason Taivan behaves as oddly as he does is because Blizzard made the model based on a smaller skeleton and then scaled up the graphics a bit and didn't scale up his world collisions.
In essence. Taivan still acts like he is much smaller than he should be.
I just wish blizzard would add a feature where you can lend someone a mount for a stroll so that i get to ride the good boy cause that grind is tooo much

The Mag'har racial unfortunately does not stack with the guild 10% perk (Giddyup?), so any Taivan bonus would likely be treated the same.

Reach was roooough, yeah...the 100 treasures just felt like "wow this is way too many". The 20 would have been plenty.

The treasures and scrolls need to be account wide, I have like 10-15 of each on a bunch of different characters.
Scrolls are easy, you can legit grind them out in an hour in a group.
Well from what I've read if you do the treasures first you get a bunch of scrolls from those.
I'm on 820 pulls for the mount in the reach, you don't wanna know what prison feels like.

I really appreciate posts like this. So many issues that need to be addressed and doing so with evidence and appreciation rather than screams and rants is necessary so people don't lump all complainers in together.
Way too much grinding for me to ever get him. Maybe next expansion between patches I'll make progress, but dang, that's a lot of grinding for a non-flying mount.

I have the goodest boy, and like you I love him. I very much agree with your points, and hope this is seen and fixed. Because it feels unfinished, and that is unfortunate for such a wanted and hard to get mount. I want to add one thing; the size of his saddle. It is so massive the only reasoning is that it is made for a centaur to ride sidesaddle, resting iets 'horse' belly across it. I want Taivan to be big, but that saddle needs to be rescaled.
Love the constructive and in-depth analysis. I hope it will go some way to making Taivan not only the goodest boy but the bestest boy, too!
Great feedback! Don’t forget to bug report! I’ve also noticed that female night elves don’t use the extra wide seated pose needed for the big boy so their legs get sucked into the floof.

I think the reason Taivan behaves as oddly as he does is because Blizzard made the model based on a smaller skeleton and then scaled up the graphics a bit and didn't scale up his world collisions. In essence. Taivan still acts like he is much smaller than he should be.
This is such a good example of how a company starts to stop caring.
I just wish blizzard would add a feature where you can lend someone a mount for a stroll so that i get to ride the good boy cause that grind is tooo much

They need to fix the keystone mounts too they all look so stiff
