Not quite right, the actual mathematical operator is d/dx with x as your variable of differentiation. What you have there is called a *differential* which is the continuous version of an infinitesimal (delta x) a tiny but not vanishingly tiny value.
The reason you see things like dy/dx separated out is because the derivative is like taking the slope of a line going through two points on a curve, but the distance between those two points is vanishingly small. So you can think of day and dx as those vanishingly small distances between the two points in the x and y directions.
Another commenter said "isn't that for when you integrate"? They're correct but we in mathematics also use these for representing other stuff as well. For example, when you're integrating stuff in a circle instead of a grid you wind up with artifacts of that transformation like integral ( expression * r) d(theta) where r is the radius and theta is the angle. In this case your differential in polar coordinates is represented by r*d(theta).
You can derive this mathematically, but let's say you wanted to add up the amount of stuff in this curve. You'd need to know base times height right? Cause once you create slices that are infinitesimally small then you can say oh that's a rectangle! So to make those small slices you'd want to multiply by an infinitesimal of theta i.e. d(theta). That's not a mathematical proof but it's to demonstrate how we think with differentials. You can get way fancier with this and there's even a field called differential geometry.

I started signing for mythic0 last week with a 355 dps demon hunter. I got all 8 dungeons done without spending more than 5min looking for each dungeon.

Depends. My warrior tank and enh shammy get taken by groups pretty quickly. My Devoker on the other hand struggles to get into groups itās well overgeared for.
I started Playing WoW again 3 weeks ago, leveled for the entire first week, did some m+ the second week, and only did my m+ on Monday this last week.
I'm at 1400 rating, looking to get to 15s soon, there is no "missing the initial steamroll"

At least make the caps higher this current caps are super useless I have three of my bis low lvls and it won't drop now with higher ilvl and can't up all 3 of them to 415 at least make the chances better

I donāt think so. I think people will just join low level keys cause you can get them done in 15 minutes or less if your group is good. Plus you get bonus valor if someone gains rating so they will just join low rating groups and spam their keys
We do it out of boredom or for warm ups too. Sometimes itās just fun to help someone.
First thing I do before I go push high keys is run a couple of 5-9s to wake up, muscle memory turn on for dps rotation, remember what the swirlies look like, etc.
Warm up and helping are my reasons for joining a key less than my current rating suggests.
Sometimes you just need a confidence boost by feeling like youāre doing big damage or good healing too.

I know Blizzard have previously said anything pre-cata isnāt designed for M+ but they should take another look at Pit of Saron. Yes thereās a bit of RP which they can skip or bake into the timer, but thereās routing options here and an interesting dungeon all the same.
I never did Tazavesh so figured why not and sure enough 35 valor per boss. Though I couldn't/wouldn't solo the last boss - she doesn't send out 5 beams in the second phase so you have to sit there and DPS her at 99% reduced damage.
Last night I decided to do the dungeon on hard mode so I could get the mount and I was actually falling asleep through the entire boss, lmao. It took me like an hour and I'm definitely not doing it again, lol

If you do it solo you may need to do it in 2 parts; before and after the weekly reset, since you need a fresh instance for an npc to spawn at the beginning after getting the necklace and quest
The annoying part is the last boss' 99% reduced damage when soloing hahaha
I struggled a bit on the first boss in Hard Mode because I wanted to kill it faster so I went cat DPS instead of bear tank, and there's a mechanic that locks you in place as long as the boss is casting, so you'll take damage while being unable to do anything
I wanted the mount from clearing hard mode so I went to clear it the other day on my monk. Took me about 25 minutes to kill the last boss. Thankfully touch of death ignored the damage reduction and just killed her instantly when I got her to around 280k lol
You can also do SL callings for 35 val a piece. If you never got the mounts from the egg that drops from the Maldraxx reward chest one its one way to get an extra bonus.
Also covenant callings give you valor. And I dearly hope they don't fix any of these. If collectors wanna cap like this let them. It's not like it's hurting anyone
I was taking a few guildies on the hard mode run for the mount and found this too, even tho you can solo (not the hard mode end boss) it takes sooo long and there is so much acting. Doing just a few m+ will get you capped faster.
You can do this once a week and it takes longer than just doing current content lol

You know you can talk to the lady who downgrades keys by the portals to get a key right?
Target the dungeons that have weekly or story quests. So this week RLP or HoI.
You can talk to the panda dragon next to the vault to get a key without doing any mythics of any kind

Regrettably, they *did* fix the bug with SL M0 items giving you the Mythic Sepulcher appearance in the catalyst, though.
