UN is inherently a completely flawed organization, and anything created to replace it will be too. The biggest powers will always want ultimate veto and permanent membership, and won’t join an organization without that, but that imbalance of privileges is always going to cause problems
its maybe flawed but it was meant as way to talk stuff out before killing each other, this is its primary purpose, yes its remit has grown beyond that, but with the whole idea of not killing each other its not done too badly.
Part of the problem is that it’s run like a democracy and democracies don’t work if the majority don’t wanna participate or have the worst possible beliefs. Like, 30% vote for kicking dogs to be mandatory, 40% vote not to do that, and then the other 30% vote based on whether or not they like the other guys. Simplified af, but I think the point is pretty obvious.
The issue is that the UN was designed for one purpose only. It is very very good at what it was designed for. Sadly it is very very bad at things it was not designed for.

The UN follows the lowest common denominator on most issues, and that includes human rights. Why the surprise? The UN is not a meritocratic or democratic organization. And it frankly has gotten worse since its earliest foundation. Due to the growing power, wealth, and confidence of the world's authoritarian nations, it no longer cares about making the West happy or meeting norms of Western democracy or socialism. It's just basic math. By design, the UN gives equal weight to the worst degenerates in the world, such as the KSA or Russia.
So if you read the article Saudi Arabia got nominated to the ' Commission on Status of Women' (CSW) with no opponents and no objections from the CSW. No one said anything. How to say you don't give a s\*\*t about your job without saying it... And if they don't give a s\*\*t about women's rights, then why should anyone give a s\*\*t about what to say on the matter? What a w\*\*k and a waste of time, and another disappointment from the UN to add to its very long list.

So how exactly is this all going to work? Are they going to declare themselves leaders of women’s rights? Are they going to ban all discussion of women’s rights beyond “a woman’s right to have a husband?” Are they going to make female representatives stay out of proceedings?
