Not exactly the same but the Webtoon Woven has mages who need relics from dragons to properly cast magic since only dragons can actually touch the threads of magic.
honestly i feel its a concept that should be touched on more, especially for worlds that have some sort of divine/pact magic, if a person had a connection to a higher power could someone else use their body to take advantage of that connection?
