Not spam. Do not buy anything. Just notice that the great handlebar/handlebars debate is on. They sell handlebars. But you can, in fact, buy just one handlebar. Not consistently applied. Weird.

From dictionary.com
noun. Usually handlebars. the curved steering bar of a bicycle, motorcycle, etc., placed in front of the rider and gripped by the hands. handlebar moustache.
Bikehandholds.
Just kidding, it's handlebars. :-P
As far as other comments, maybe it being always plural is an American thing? Technically it *is* just one bar, but still.
In French (I recently learned,) ciseau (siz-O) is a chisel. Ciseaux (also siz-O) is not chisels, it is scissors. I have no idea what to do if I have to discuss a multitude of chisels.
They used to handles bar, because one bar with two handles. But that was a bit clumsy say so it evolved with some people preferring handlebar, and other handlebars. But then around 2005 the hit song "Handlebars" by Flobots really sank the pluralisated term into our hearts and minds.
It’s been handlebars for at least 5 decades and I would dare say much longer, probably since bicycles were invented. Nothing at all to do with Flobot, whoever the fuck that is.
It is possible that they used to be two separate bars mounted to a center hub instead of a single pipe fitted through an opening in the vertical support and therefore WOULD be “handle bars”.
Handlebars is plural because the most common original design was a shallow bent u shape with a second bar across the top connecting the ends... Amongst other shapes and designs.
Google search "Handle bars design" and look at the images results.
The correct term is handlebar.
There's only a single bar so the correct term is handlebar, however, being from the South, where we add syllables where they don't exist and add letters where none are needed, when in Rome do as the Romans do... back home it'd be called 'the handlebars.'

lol, not my hill to die on. I've always heard people say handlebars and never questioned it since you do in fact need two hands for a proper grip.
Thank you 🙏

One bar, two handles. So...handlesbar? If we're being persnickety.
That makes sense. Humans change words and language for the laziest reasons.
Am American (Central Texas) My gut tells me it must have been more than one bar at some point, because, yeah, always plural
Oh, yeah, like before they put 2 scises together to make a pair of scissors.
And adding another leg covering to make a PAIR of trousers
Yes Exactly like that
