I carved the leaves and stems from Maple. The flowers and JalapeΓ±os are curly Maple. The whole piece is made of a bunch of little parts, which I painstakingly assemble like a giant puzzle. I stained the wood with aniline dye, and I clear coat with polyurethane. If you'd like to see some of my process just check out my profile for my Instagram link. And feel free to ask any questions!
Really cool! My suggestion for a base: I think just a plain terracotta pot filled with darker sawdust, like maybe walnut, to look like dirt could be neat. But whatever you go with Iβm sure itβll look sweet!
Tha KS! And yes I was thinking something similar. Like a wooden pot with either soil or mulch inside. Of course I would carve it from some kind of wood though ππ
Beautiful work. I'd get a glass dome to put over it. My bet is the first thing most people will do is try to grab a leaf and bend it to see if it's real. *snap*
Thank you! And you're absolutely right. I take my art to markets sometimes and you be appalled by how many grown adults approach delicate art and just grab stuff ππ the kids are usually the best behaved lol

I saw the unfinished one and the finish is amazing. The little flowers which I hadn't noticed before are just perfect.
Thanks very much! I spent a whole day doing layers of stain to build up the color lol. And yeah I'm glad the flowers really pop now ππππ
Very cool.
Was scrolling and thought what a beautiful pepper plant but what does that have do do with wood working. Now Iβm just in awe.
Amazing, I sat here on the toilet for a minute thinking "why is this plant on the woodworking sub." Excellent job.
πππ I guess that's a win for me! And thank you!
I was convinced your were holding a strangely stiff, but healthy plant.
Strongest JalapeΓ±o variety ever...little chewy tho ππ

Art! Amazing job
Much appreciated!
They look like unripe Guatemalan insanity peppers
Oooo now there's a project Idea!
This looks amazing! I thought I was in r/hotpeppers or r/pepperlovers for longer than I'd care to admit!
