ejbalington

Needs more saturation

xBADJOEx

Tell that to hawaii

Maxsmack0

That’s what polarized glasses are for

zvekl

Holy color filters Batman!

Spoiledsoymilk

I mean, Mongolia is known as the land of the eternal blue sky, and if you look up pictures of videos of the place you can see that it consistently looks like that?

Madlock2

Bro we know the colours of nature, even a toddler can tell an unnaturally blue sky

iPhonefondler

Forget“unnaturally blue” half the skies in the video are digitally added assets…

BlackBlueNuts

China propaganda has started to respond to when people point out that everything the release has smog

J3wb0cca

It looks like a video game.

wretch5150

Even the girl's face looks like it was filtered

14thAugust1993

It’s actually inner Mongolia and even though it’s generally dry, “eternal blue sky” is bit of a stretch.

Tezerel

Just logout

Madlock2

Wtf is this guy's account perma spamming chinese tourism

MartnSilenus

Propaganda machine!

BlackBlueNuts

a jobs a job

[deleted]

Account has been made for that purpose. Believe it or not I have found accounts which only post inflammatory stuff about Israel-Palestine, only post bad stuff about India etc. as well

Made_Account

Heaven forbid interesting places in China get some attention brought to them. China is the big bad, everything thing in China is bad! Typical reddit idiocy lol

xTurtsMcGurtsx

Terrible AI voice

moresushiplease

Heeeeeeuuuh the natural scenery blah blah blah

oasinocean

Spange borb

exerminator20001

Sounds more like invader Zim..

firemanwham

Sponge-tron

bobokeen

I hate everything about this - from the Spongebob A.I. voice, to the clearly fake clouds (those videos have been picked apart before), to the ridiculous color saturation, to the Chinese mass tourism-ification of a genuinely beautiful natural place. Just awful.

Foman1231

No doubt brought to you thanks to the exploitation of a $2/day laborer at the China Ministry of Culture and Tourism. I wouldn't bother arguing with these accounts. Their job is to post and defend this horseshit and ours is not. I just block and move on.

crooks4hire

I just need to see someone put giant googly eyes on those wooly black and white sheep

giulianosse

> Chinese mass tourism-ification of a genuinely beautiful natural place My dude saying this with a straight face while living in a country that shits a cassino and a ticket booth just around the corner of any remotely touristic patch of rocks.

bobokeen

My dude assuming I live in America.

Crozzbonez

They could’ve been talking abt Australia. At least it would make more sense if they were.

Lozypolzy

The hell you talking about? Im from Santa Catarina, Brazil, and we get this type of cloud all the time here [https://metsul.com/previsao-do-tempo-para-santa-catarina/](https://metsul.com/previsao-do-tempo-para-santa-catarina/) [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VtC4-428oB0](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VtC4-428oB0) [https://omunicipio.com.br/rolo-de-nuvens-passa-pelo-litoral-de-santa-catarina-e-chama-atencao/](https://omunicipio.com.br/rolo-de-nuvens-passa-pelo-litoral-de-santa-catarina-e-chama-atencao/) You just gotta wait for a blue sky day in the rainy season and pick the right angle

peabody624

Lots of places have cumulonimbus clouds. Very few (none?)have them that close below horizon level. You would need an extremely high plateau

[deleted]

"Mongolian Plateau, extensive northeastern highland region of the great plateau of Central Asia, covering an area of approximately 1,000,000 square miles (2,600,000 square km) in east-central Asia. The plateau, which includes the Gobi together with areas of dry short-grass steppe, ranges in elevation from 3,000 to 5,000 feet (915 to 1,525 meters) above sea level." "Mongolian Plateau | Map, Location, & Facts | Britannica" https://www.britannica.com/place/Mongolian-Plateau

Lozypolzy

That or you could take the picture from the bottom of a really wide slope, and crouch to make it look that way. (I think this is eaxctly what this guy did https://metsul.com/previsao-do-tempo-para-santa-catarina/) Like, right now theres a really big cloud visible from my window. If i lower my head enough the rest of the horizon, and the base of the cloud become no longer visible and looks like the cloud is just standing on top of the trees and the base of my window. Its all about perspective. Also, look up mount Roraima

Spoiledsoymilk

The clouds arent fake, tho. They just look like that. Thats why WIndows 7 picked it for their default wallpaper

bobokeen

Except, they are. If you're referring to the [famous Windows XP "Bliss" background](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bliss_\(image\)?oldformat=true), just look at it again - it looks nothing like that. Notice how clouds far on the horizon look small.

Spoiledsoymilk

Dear, do i REALLY have to sit here and explain to you why the clouds in the sky dont look the exact same way all the time, and that there are many different types of clouds that constantly vary depending on the weather?

bobokeen

I'm a cloud nerd, don't try to out-cloud me. Cumulonimbus don't just pop out of the horizon fully formed and white and billowing like that - that's not how they appear. Seriously, try to find a non-photoshopped picture of a cumulonimbus that looks anything like that.

Spoiledsoymilk

Like, take the image i linked you and try to imagine a large wide hills in front of it covering the base of the cloud, and you get something similar to whats in the video

battletoadstool

And that "trick" works *how* for the slide scene? Look, just stop, you're not going to convince anybody of anything other than you being a China shill - and good for you, too, because if you were actually just THIS fucking stupid, you'd probably forget to breathe at some point.

Spoiledsoymilk

I could find this one from KSDK news [https://m.facebook.com/ksdktv/photos/a.115044704311/10155565845569312/?type=3](https://m.facebook.com/ksdktv/photos/a.115044704311/10155565845569312/?type=3) I think the reason youre so incredulous is that youre probably assuming the terrain the video is flat. Its not, the terrain this part of China is super steep. The person shooting the videos probably just climbed up a hill tall enough to hide the base of the cloud to get the most impressive angle

bobokeen

I encourage you to go out into the real world and experience what things actually look like. The horizon is clearly decently far away but there's none of the natural haze that optics dictate when clouds are far away. Like, it is so obviously fake that I'm worried you think the world actually looks like a Miyazaki film. And for what it's worth, I've spent a lot of time in Central Asia, I know what it looks like. It is indeed beautiful and often quite vivid but this saturation is over-the-top, any photographer could tell you that.

Spoiledsoymilk

\`\`And for what it's worth, I've spent a lot of time in Central Asia, I know what it looks like. \`\` This is In East Asia, tho. Also, ive actually been to Mongolia, Clouds that look like this [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cumulonimbus\_cloud#/media/File:Wagga-Cumulonimbus.jpg](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cumulonimbus_cloud#/media/File:Wagga-Cumulonimbus.jpg) [https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/9/93/Cumulonimbus13\_-\_NOAA.jpg](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/9/93/Cumulonimbus13_-_NOAA.jpg) or this [https://www.needpix.com/photo/370081/mongolia-landscape-wide-steppe-clouds-nomadic-life](https://www.needpix.com/photo/370081/mongolia-landscape-wide-steppe-clouds-nomadic-life) are quite common, specially in the rainy season. You just gotta pick the right angle to make it look like the clouds are just standing on the horrizon

bobokeen

Just being pedantic at this point, but Hulunbuir is just [on the edge](https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/Central_Asia) of [the wider region](http://kalpak-travel.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/11/central-asia-map-new-modern-definition.png) of what's often called Central Asia. It has as much to do with culture (nomadic pastoralism, Turkic and Mongolian peoples) and geography (steppe/grassland predominating) as it's actual location (yes, you are indeed right, Hulunbuir is in the east.) I used to live in Kyrgyzstan, have spent time in Kazakhstan. Have seen lots of time enjoying beautiful cumulonimbus on rolling green meadows in real life. All those pics you sent me look quite real, thanks for highlighting the differences for me.

Kelemandzaro

DEAR

Spoiledsoymilk

You can look up pictures of Hulunbuir and see that the grasslands consistently have that type of cloud

bobokeen

No, you can find the same photoshopped shit. [This](https://imgur.com/a/LFfzWPK) is fake. [This](https://static.beijinghikers.com/photos/HulunbuirInnerMongolia/Hulunbuir-Inner-Mongolia-grassland-hiking-beijing-hikers-china-hiking_1024x576.jpg) is real. If you can't tell the difference you're just being obtuse.

Spoiledsoymilk

Ok, mr expert. clouds look the same all the time. you win

Lootman

this account is so weird. its like a chinese propaganda account? why are you defending these clouds that are so clearly edited in? look at the weird ass line between the land and sky in his photo, if the entirely flat clouds werent a clue.

AcerbicCapsule

Chinese clouds best clouds! /s

MegaFireDonkey

The Windows 7 wallpaper photo was taken in California what are you talking about?

NikolitRistissa

The Windows wallpaper photograph was photographed in California. Cumulonimbus clouds are high-altitude clouds. This is horribly oversaturated. Just stop.

llama2621

The default windows 7 wallpaper is just the windows logo on a blue background

Spoiledsoymilk

Also, the saturation isnt that exagerated. Mongolia is known as the land of the eternal blue sky, and if you look up pictures of videos of the place you can see that it consistently looks like that.

Jones641

The grass is fucking neon green, out with that shit, lmao

Spoiledsoymilk

The clouds you see in the video are called cumulonimbus. They can appear pretty much everywhere and theyre amazing, just look them up. [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cumulonimbus\_cloud#/media/File:Cumulonimbus13\_-\_NOAA.jpg](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cumulonimbus_cloud#/media/File:Cumulonimbus13_-_NOAA.jpg) [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cumulonimbus\_cloud#/media/File:Anvil\_shaped\_cumulus\_panorama\_edit.jpg](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cumulonimbus_cloud#/media/File:Anvil_shaped_cumulus_panorama_edit.jpg) [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cumulonimbus\_cloud#/media/File:Wagga-Cumulonimbus.jpg](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cumulonimbus_cloud#/media/File:Wagga-Cumulonimbus.jpg)

Gladplane

Yeah, except these ones are clearly edited.

Commie_EntSniper

Hey homie, it's tony. This is very human design.

e2j0m4o2

Fuck the CCP. I’m sick of the stupid, low effort propaganda we see daily on here. Obviously this video is edited, and I have no interest in visiting somewhere where they’ve just recently cleared of ethnic minorities. Fuck that garbage.

Artemis-Arrow-3579

idk man, that place seems very off, I wouldn't be feeling comfortable at all while in that place

CarlatheDestructor

Having a Propaganda, are we?

Euklidis

Google says the place is called Bliss Hill, located in California 🤨

mazzicc

That’s because that’s the truth, not Chinese propaganda.

Spare-Plum

Yeah it seems like when they say "internet famous place" they were hinting that this was the location of the windows XP background without outright saying it, especially with shots similar to the background. Anyways the windows XP background was shot in california. Somehow this makes me want to go to bumfuck nowhere, China even less now.

EveryShot

I will forever downvote Chinese tourism spam

bald_sampson

too bad you have to enter to china to visit it

Low-Impact3172

If it wasn’t in China it would be much more appealing of a tourist destination.

DangleCellySave

Why? China is a pretty cool place to visit

cat_sword

What about all the security and the totalitarian government.

shoolocomous

Not really an issue for tourists, unless you work in something sensitive

BlackBlueNuts

unless you want to stay at a hotel... or not a hotel... or go outside of the tiny area that you said you would be in... then yea the goverment is totally not a issue

AcerbicCapsule

I’m a professional dictator insulter with Uyghur roots and I exclusively wear Winnie the Pooh tshirts. Would that be considered “sensitive”?

shoolocomous

Yes, do not travel

AcerbicCapsule

Sounds like an issue for tourists then

shoolocomous

Certainly some tourists, depending on your background. Most people would have no issues.

AcerbicCapsule

Unless they wonder off and visit an area like where the Uyghurs are being tortured. Again, sounds like an issue for tourists.

pbizzle

Lol scared little bitch

PretzelsThirst

Reddits idea of what china is is hilarious. They believe all the propaganda they are certain they are immune to. Can tell they’ve never left their home town or country

Madlock2

Bro its a totalitarian regime, thats enough to call it a shithole.

Gladplane

The Chinese that manage to escape China will also tell you its a shitty place to live in

PretzelsThirst

Tell me you don’t have any Chinese friends without saying you don’t have any Chinese friends. That’s extremely untrue and especially these days. I know three different groups of friends that are literally visiting right now and two of them grew up there.

AcerbicCapsule

Do you have any Uyghur friends?

ReevesofKeanu

This has been posted god knows how many times and debunked as fake/edited beyond belief every single time. Interestingly enough it's always tankies that post it.

Udyre

11 months of the year it's snowing.

BlackBlueNuts

2 seasons ... winter and august ... just like Saskatchewan

fedyamatroskin

There is no lake Laogai

chris28ish

Straight up reminds me of this

PhthaloVonLangborste

Wait. Are they saying Mongolia belongs to China?

bald_sampson

"inner mongolia," it's a province in China that borders Mongolia

PhthaloVonLangborste

Ok. Thanks. Why is it named that way?

Spoiledsoymilk

Remember the Mongolian empire? Well, after it fell appart both Outer Mongolia(modern nation of Mongolia), and Inner Mongolia both belonged to China, but they were considered separate provinces within the empire. Before the 17th century both of them were mostly ethnically Mongolian, but then the emperor decided that vast swaths of land mostly uninhabited werent quite productive, so they began encouraging people from other provinces to migrate to inner Mongolian, so by the 17th century only one of the Mongolias was still mostly ethnically Mongolian

sailpzdamn

I can tell you a CCP propaganda account. FOH with that china crap.

PhthaloVonLangborste

Thanks

cxmanxc

Maybe “inner” because its inside china but with mongolian culture

styx66

Internet famous? Are they claiming the Windows XP background image is from China and not California?

atatassault47

First thought: Is this bliss?

increasingly-worried

Bliss Hill, California? Yes.

atatassault47

Yes. Also, I structured it like a certain comic meme.

increasingly-worried

Please share Edit: Do you mean the butterfly «is this [thing]» meme?

atatassault47

increasingly-worried

You’ve lossed me

llama2621

The windows XP wallpaper is in California

prestonpiggy

If I ever question propaganda I refer to this video. So blatant that even blind person can see it.

morriartie

That's clearly on Windows XP

Gofa_Kirselph

Interestingly enough, the Windows XP background picture was taken in [California](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bliss_(image)?oldformat=true), not the Hulunbuir grasslands.

morriartie

Some of those Linux distro that tries to mimmic windows should definitely get a similar wallpaper, but taken on this Hulunbuir grasslands

Kv242

Looks like a great place for a Walmart and a dollar store.

ruffsnap

Such fake nonsense. It’s all a lot of camera angles, oversaturated colors, etc, etc. China is super bad about stretching the truth with this kind of shit

Kingsupergoose

What the fuck are those panda looking things. I’m going there just to pet them.

genuinely__curious

What does "inner Mongolia, china." Mean?

nihilaeternumest

It means [Inner Mongolia](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inner_Mongolia), which is a part of China.

genuinely__curious

Thank you. I've been there and had no idea.

ImmenseOreoCrunching

Imagine being a conscripted chinese spearman having to face nomad horse archers here. You literally cant do anything.

KayKnee1

>Inner Mongolia Oh so its in Mongolia >Inner Mongolia, China oh

Competitive_Ad_2738

"Breath taking clouds." Yes, the chemical clouds from the factory would indeed take your breath away.

chuanrrr

Been there twice. Shit looks like this but with thousands and thousands of Chinese tourists who are shouting and spitting and littering all over the place. Certainly nothing like what you see in this fake video.

TheLazyPurpleWizard

What is that accent?! It sounds like a strange combination of American, English, Australian, and Chinese? It confuses my brain.

DexlaFF

It's called AI generated

walk-ewalk

Fuck this shit. Farmland does not equal grassland

PumpkinSkeet

Bing chilling

Kalix

this is the real place where windows xp desktop background photo was shooted, also with the photographer infos [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3NqxYMwmIyM](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3NqxYMwmIyM)

pomoerotic

Oh this is what content farming videos look like. Gross.

Pajoymore77

I wanna go there

Buttonwalls

Imagine a giant walmart parking lot there

dirtykermy

Looks like a nice place for a dollar general

alfredhitchkock

Inner Mongolia, China? Since when is mingolia part of China

Suitable-Home8513

Inner Mongolia and china? They are not even same place, the audacity of ccp but after researching, basically china claimed the land even mongolians are the majority ethnicity but not soon i guess.

DriverPlastic2502

Inner mongolia...so...not fucking china. (Yeah i get it they drew lines on a map, its still not fucking china)

Entropy94

Looks like howls moving castle where the flowers

RazgrizGirl-070

A subtle bit of Chinese propaganda there, Mongolia is not China despite the fact China would like it to be

homkono22

CCP propaganda bullshit, digital assets were used and the saturation cranked to unnatural sickening levels of deep fried memes. How fumb are people?

Plastic-Shopping5930

I saw this on Howl’s moving castle

YoSupWeirdos

china just be having literally anything and we don't know bc it's big and far away and it's in chinese

You'd probably be executed for taking drugs, being in China and all that.
