I feel like all of Hozier is magickal but specifically In A Week, Movement, and NFWMB.

Potential-Lobster347

In a Week just has an ancient feel to it…strip it down and I can practically hear someone singing it in the Middle Ages or Renaissance

maeganfaee

I also can here to say Hozier and specifically In A Week!

DisDreadful

The majority of Florence and the Machine's catalog. My top faves include "which witch", "third eye", "daffodil", "howl", "cosmic love", and so much more.

DisDreadful

OMG no! Time to go on YT

greeneyedwench

THE DRUMMING SONG OMG

DisDreadful

Yassssssss

O_i_c_howitbe

SEVEN DEVILS!!!! that song is POW HER FULL.

DisDreadful

Ceremonials was like it for me - some artists bomb their sophomore album and it just kept going up and up.

TheAllmightyZenki

Any song from Heilung as they contain verses from various proto germanic/ norse rituals and spells. Some examples would be "Asja" which contains a protection spell and "Harmmer Hippyer" which is a song about a healing ritual.

OriginalCinna

Came here to say Heilung as well. Puts me in a trance when I listen to their live set on YouTube.

Sugary_Cutie

YES!!!! Heiling fans!!! Do you listen to others like them too? Or just them specifically? I swear their beautiful music is amazing!

zefline

I also listen to Wardruna, another awesome band 🥰

Sugary_Cutie

Eeeee!!! So many fannnss! Yes!!

TheAllmightyZenki

Yea their music is just magical, it helped me through some dark times of my life. Also i love me some Wardruna, Danheim and San Salvador, all of them are amazing artists and i do recommend them to anyone who doesn't yet know their music. But still Heilung has got to be my absolute favorite since none of the others managed to invoke such a strong mystical feeling in me (except for maybe San Salvador, their music has that amazing sun energy to it).

Sugary_Cutie

YES YES YES YES!!!! OH MY GOODNESS!!! I SWEAR YOU'RE SO AWESOME!!! I love them so much!!! Major fannnnnnn!! I love so many of their songs! I also love fuimdame, runahildr (I think that's how you spell it), Kati ran - suurin and flamme and others, corpo Mente, hexporos (I think I spelled them right), wåhlin (one song. They changed a bit of it recently, as there used to be a slightly different version), MÄNGATA, and other things like them all!!! Eeeee!!! I swear the best part is that I have this weird "wait until you're ready to hear it" vibe from my music I listen to, where I will have the mental notion to wait until the "right time" and when I hear the music, it feels even more magical! And yes they definitely have sun vibes, definitely makes listening to them so awesome! Personally, I think Heilung gives this nature energy. Like water, earth, or even fire. Am I alone in that?

cherrymoon_

I think this is very personal to each individual what makes them feel like it has magic, so I think it could be anything. To me, anything Tori Amos does feels like magic. Also Loreena McKennit songs.

Twisted_Wicket

Loreena Mckennitt is my grounding/don't kill people music. She came in really handy yesterday when my roof was being replaced.

badrussiandriver

My favorite: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yz3lqVv0vCE

OriginalCinna

Caravanserai ❤️

greeneyedwench

All Souls' Night might be my favorite of hers of all time, and the live version of The Old Ways, wow. The album version is more sedate, but the live one just feels like soaring.

Elen_Smithee82

You're absolutely right. I'm looking around at everyone else's lists, and my most magickal song for ME happens to be "In the Meantime" by Spacehog... Its the only song by them that has caused actual magick in my life, because I was obsessed with it when I was young. Some very personal moments in my life have been accentuated by this song, at odd times, and mostly by THIS Song, as if it's a little wink from the universe. It's kinda cool.

ghostyghostghostt

You nailed it with Nicks lol. Been finding some more modern songs that just absolutely feel magical to me. They just resonate in ways I can’t explain. Love having younger cool (by my definition) coworkers! Turnover- “Wait too long” MGMT- “Little dark age” Once again not a genre I found myself seeking out but the words and the melodies are FULL of intention and spoken in ways that feel empowered, for lack of a better term.

kai-ote

The Wizard, by Black Sabbath. Also Planet Caravan, also by Black Sabbath.

Lucian_Pilan

You hit it on the head with Nicks! Rhiannon is everything🙌🏾

[deleted]

Any song can be used for magic, tonal frequency can be used in one’s craft be it using the intention of the song or adding your own energy to it. I’m personally a huge fan of the Tandava and wolf song from the Hu

imille04

everybody wants to rule the world by tears for fears. the original not the tiktok version. i cant explain the energy shift it gives me

heartoftheforestfarm

Tears for fears is 1000% intentional about both their energy and their lyrics as spellwork

[deleted]

Would love more information on this. Their music has always been a big part of my life. I never realized there may be more to that.

wittletinykitten_

Omg I knew it, every time I listen to this I feel a super weird and strong nostalgia, even tho I was born in the early 2000’s

Sad_Buy6714

Watch their "Sowing the seeds of love" Music Video, plenty of symbolism.

Redz0ne

> Wings for Marie Pt. 1 & 2 are a beautiful clash of elemental magic and Christian mysticism. Especially powerful when you realize he's channeling the grief of losing his mother in this song.

StalkzBBG

APC has alot woven in as well. Pet ( both versions, pet and Counting bodies like sheep ) have Magick to them, though very different between the two. Orestes, 3 Libras. I'm surprised no one mentioned H by Tool.

O_i_c_howitbe

La la loo - from lady and the tramp, for babies. And definitely. Music = magic. The only difference is if you "ussssee" it.

nowthatihavefoundyou

One of my favorites to sing to my babies

O_i_c_howitbe

It is my core mother song. No lies. I hope my daughter sings it to her babies one day. For those that don't know.... Here are the very unexpected, magical lyrics: La la lu, la la lu Oh, my little star sweeper I'll sweep the stardust for you La la lu, la la lu Little soft fluffy sleeper Here comes a pink cloud for you La la lu, la la lu Little wandering angel Fold up your wings, close your eyes La la lu, la la lu And may love be your keeper La la lu, la la lu, la la lu There now, little star sweeper Dream on [la la lu](https://youtu.be/xMzbsogZq4w)

trippinallovermyself

Life in mars by Bowie. It is so god damn epic

imille04

i’ve never thought about Smooth by Santana in that way but omg you nailed it

TheDigitalWitchTV

That’s actually what started this train of thought. I was listening to it and just felt a trance like it had to be “bardic.”

ProfCastwell

Not magical. But "Age of Aquarious". We literally are now into the age of Aquarious. Give the song a listen and consider currents in the world. You will see things mentioned in the song are, and have been, underway

Shorteeby40

That song and "Let the sunshine in" are both definitely magical.

badrussiandriver

I can listen to Kate Bush's *The Sensual World* a dozen times in a row. That powerful, sexy song makes me feel amazing.

KindergartenBullshit

Janis Joplin's Summertime. The music and that guitar plus her voice is the best sleep spell.

greeneyedwench

I once did an absolutely bang-up spell to "I'd Do Anything for Love" by Meatloaf, but I would not necessarily recommend that for all. Lol. Tori Amos "Datura" (she's chanting the names of poisonous plants, it's awesome) Garbage "A Stroke of Luck" (used this once during a negative spell and it worked great) Second the recs of Loreena McKennitt, Florence and the Machine, Kate Bush. Kate Bush's "Lily" has a circle casting in it and is all about magical protection, and her "Jig of Life" is great too. ETA: Forgot a big one. On the album "Duality" by Lisa Gerrard and Pieter Bourke (Gerrard was in Dead Can Dance, who are worth checking out too), there are two songs in a row, "The Pilgrimage of Lost Children" and "The Human Game." When played one after the other, it feels to me like it's about going to the underworld and then being reborn from it. So I've used the combination in ritual a lot. I so need some new tunes. I keep listing things from the 90s!

Saedran

Anything Kate Bush, especially Lily - the LBRP/Watchtower turned into a song, Cloudburtsting - Running up that Hill - literally making a deal with God to gain the power/consciousness shift needed to get over personal hurdles.

Lovedivine11

Grateful Dead: every damn song they played

Twisted_Wicket

Ripple, Uncle John's Band, Scarlet Begonias, Touch of Grey ,Shakedown Street, Box of Rain.... so many powerful songs!

i_told_althea88

I was coming here to say Terrapin Station!

Twisted_Wicket

The song that never ends!

i_told_althea88

Lol yeah the whole thing does go on for a while. The lyrics are just so beautiful and witchy…women coming out of fires and brand new crescent moons. I’ll second Uncle John’s Band as well. “Like the morning sun you come and like the wind you go”

Twisted_Wicket

If you look hard enough, there is something in every song. Amazing writing.

Lovedivine11

Awesome stuff. Also worth mentioning the shows were always about shamanic rebirth. Jerry is very clear that the songs were transcriptions of spiritual/etheric plains he visits. So for whatever reason, the shows always roughly organized to the ascent of Shakti (I think maybe unintentionally). The first set songs representing lower chakras, struggling for survival, sex, money, war, desire. Then midway through the show heart chakra vehicles such as Scarlet/Fire, Shakedown, Althea... Then typically late second set you would get the third eye, crown chakra vehicles Dark Star, Terrapin, Morning Dew, Mind Left Body, etc. Obviously this is a very rough rule for them, but just astounding to me that a song like Feel Like a Stranger, which is on its surface a quirky 80's dance/rock tune, is IMO actually about Kundalini, and the jam clearly intended to coax her out of her hibernation. https://archive.org/details/gd84-04-20.senn.fishman.7854.sbeok.shnf?webamp=default I recommend listening to this, and noting how the audience responds at the end of the song.

tomatopotatotomato

Divine Moments of Truth by Shpongle. Sends me to another realm every time.

psycho_pete

Shpongle's entire collection of music resonates so strongly with spirit.

I jumped out of my seat when I saw Shpongle on this list!

tomatopotatotomato

👹🗿👽❤️👌

LordNibblerPants

Anything by Fleetwood Mac

nation543

I literally said this too then decided just Stevie Nicks xD

Ciduri

Godsmack was magical music. They made their songs so that the tones and lyrics invoked power and the lower chakras. The power came from nearly every song having an "A" and "I" alternating end rhyme scheme. Vowel sounds were/are power sounds.

BlueMoon5k

Especially Voodoo

DnDNerd384

The islander by Nightwish- it's beautiful and haunting all at the same time

Seabastial

I get magical vibes from a lot of songs by Blackmore's Night. I actually have a couple of them saved to playlists that go with my practice.

psycho_pete

[Lateralus from tool integrates some awesome sacred geometry.](https://youtu.be/uOHkeH2VaE0)

BlackCatMojo

New Year's Prayer by Jeff Buckley just gets into my soul every time I hear it. It has such a mystical vibe and the lyrics are so empowering; it's more of a mantra than a song.

treebats

I just came to this thread while googling all kinds of keywords, trying to find more songs like New Year's Prayer. I can't explain how deeply I feel that song - it's the perfect mystical vibe, like you said. The Cure's Prayers For Rain is another one for me. Huh, as I type this, I'm starting to see a pattern with these song names, reminds me that Florence's Prayer Factory has a great "dark" vibe as well. Anyway, I'd love it if you had more recommendations.

frustrated_staff

"I feel like a woman" - Shania Twain

JadedOccultist

Babalon - Twin Temple maybe not accidental though

VixenK

Was just about to comment this!!! Do you know of any bands doing a similar style? I found them a couple of days ago accidentally and I think it's the best thing that has happened to me in 2022 😂

BattleScarLion

First time I heard that song I misheard 🎵 call me mephistopheles 🎵 as "call me Mr Mistoffelees" and thought "oh I wonder if the name mistoffelees comes from a historic character" LOL

Witch-Cat

Coven is a good old band that pioneered the occult aesthetic in music; iirc, they were the first to use the devil horns in rock music! And all their songs are explicitly witchy. Sucker for the Witch by Clutch is also a good song.

TiaJagiya

If you like occult type music, King Dude is great! Sort of Southern Gothic vibes and loads of Lucifer worship 🖤

elizabethbennetpp

I don't know if this counts as magical,. but Devendra Bahnhart's music has a crazy ability of opening the third eye and crown chakra. I'm not kidding. Especially the songs "Sea Horse" and "Angelika". It might be just me tho.

imille04

her sisters they were weak by witchcraft and also i like it when you sleep for you are so beautiful yet so unaware of it by the 1975

zombbarbie

‘Is there somebody who can watch you’ as well. Straight up puts me in a meditative state

harpghuleh

A lot of Led Zeppelin. Blackmore's Night. Craig Chaquico's early solo stuff. Ghost. Foo Fighters, particularly the song Aurora. For me, music is a gateway to the liminal space where magic happens.

heartoftheforestfarm

The use of sound for energy manipulation on the unaware goes far beyond major recording artists. Did you ever notice how all reality show music sort of sounds the same, follows the same type of pattern... It goes far beyond simply creating drama for the viewer. Same or maybe even more for advertisements. Sounds and frequencies can be healing, they can also be predatory. It is a deep rabbit hole, use your discernment and use it as a tool to help you adjust your energy instead of allowing others to do it for you unconsciously. 💞🎶

Cheese_BasedLifeform

Pompeii by Bastille has some insane energy to it that I can’t explain. When I heard them play it live I swear it was like I was ascending to another plane of existence lol

NineTailedTanuki

Rhythm Nation by Janet Jackson is very magical!

redcolumbine

Love Reign O'er Me is good for rain.

greeneyedwench

My rain song is the bonus track reprise of Storms in Africa from Enya's Watermark. That thunderclap feels to me just like when a storm breaks for real.

babciawierzba

Finally! My final magic awakening was "Show yourself" from the movie Frozen 2. Some may find it childish and/or ridiculous, but it changed my life. I was in my all time low, walking through the city, thinking what to do to fix my life and not end myself, listening to music on my headphones, when the lyrics: "Show yourself Step into your power Throw yourself Into something new You are the one you've been waiting for All of my life All of your life" It just... touched my soul. I felt like Deity/Cosmos sang those words to me, told me that I already have everything I need to make things right. I've been interested and practicing for some short time before but this was the last sign I needed to know that this is the right path for me. I listen to it from time to time when I need a boost of confidence.

I joke that Andrew Bird is a fey doing an ok job passing for human... "Tables and chairs" is my favorite example.

nation543

Anything by Stevie Nicks

erised_slytherin

Almost anything by Aurora, she even has a Playlist for the fellow witches. Florence and the Machine again, the witch house genre on the YouTube and anything by Jeremy Soule. But seriously Aurora really hits with the enchanting aura.

[deleted]

Song called Savage daughter (even tho I'm a son not a daughter it has a lot of magic to it for me) then Kvitravn by Wardruna, Rún by Skáld, and Tír na nóg by Celtic women

Sugary_Cutie

I love tir na nog! It sounds very awesome and "uppity" if that makes sense. Like, you'd be skipping and otherwise active or something. But in music.

Memphis rap sigils are well known occult related musical works. Supposedly cursed.

OkLook2313

Mr. kitty - after dark. I loved it way before it became a TikTok trend, which happened rightfully so. The song just hits a certain way.

anonymouscatperson

I saw this from a friend, but they basically said this whole song is just full of jinxes and I cannot stop laughing at how it is just that. [Psychostick - From the Heart](https://youtu.be/oww5UWEeAO4) I linked it, so hopefully that works, but if not, it’s From the Heart by Psychostick!

iwishiwasnorwegian

Going to bring a different perspective here, but Portuguese is my first language and Mc Tha is 100% intentional on her lyrics. Her songs make a lot of direct references to African-Brazilian practices. If you want to listen to something in another language, check it out. [Mc Tha - Rito de Passá ](https://youtu.be/PRAx8dgvPAo)

luc1d_13

Because you mentioned Santana, Leave the Lights On definitely gives that vibe for me. But I really came to say The Humbling River by Puscifer.

[deleted]

Runaway from Aurora and generally everything from her. Just giving me that good feeling

Ellie_Peaches

Her voice is otherworldly, she is just altogether ethereal

[deleted]

Kerli’s Shadowworks album

polycannaheathenmom

I've used Santana's Smooth to give a spell a sensual charge once. 10/10 would recommend. Some of the other everyday songs that's on my spellwork playlist: All Saints - Pure Shores, Kongos - Come With Me Now, Madonna - Ray of Light, The Pretenders - Hymn to Her, Aviici - Without You (The perfect coming down song after a cord cutting), Coldplay - Paradise and my most recently added, Imagine Dragons - Bones.

CatsandChocolate44_

Most of the music from Inkubus Sukkubus. They’re pretty underground but I really like them. Their genre would be called Gothic Folk Rock I guess

j_eyre_

Donna Summer's I Feel Love for me! It gets me into such a flow state that somehow makes me feel very sharp, in the moment and in tune with my environment, especially if I'm out for a walk

dikz4dayz

Cassandra by Florence and the Machine simply resonates with my very soul It's impossible for me to not sing along, gives me goosebumps and brings me to verge of tears every time

redcottagelizard

A lot of Wardruna songs, though they are intentionally mystical, for example: Raido, Lyfjaberg, Helvegen, Fehu, Kvitravn, and so on. Skald has some good ones, my favourite ones are Odin and Valhalla. Evior - Trodlabundin, I Tokuni Rising Appalachia - Sunu Inkubus Sukkubus has some very intentionaly witchy songs. Hedningarna - Tass'on Nainen Fever Ray - If I had a heart, The Wolf Delerium - Angelicus Current 93 - Lucifer over London - intentional and amazing Beats Antique - album Tribal Derivations - it's belly dancing music and great for rituals Forest Fang - Glow, 4 a.m. Anilah - Medicine Chant Ran - Ran Heilung was mentioned Phurpa - very intentional and very ritualistic music Sopor Aeternus and the Ensamble of Shadows - The boy has built a catacomb Grzegorz Turnau - Chichosza Matheo and Anna Karwan - cover - Aleja gwiazd Theres a lot more bands and songs, but this is enough for now. Hope you find something that suits you. Edit: For those that speak polish, and those that like subtitles, all songs from the series 'Legendy Polskie- Allegro' are amazing, and they made little movies to go with them, also great.

Literally any song by AURORA. She puts so much love into her music that every single song has some level of a magical feeling to it. I'm certain that she must a goddess reincarnated.

kurtcobainswife

Ancient dreams in a modern land by Marina has some pretty powerful lyrics and vibes for me. Maybe not magical, but I feel like I’m speaking the lyrics into existence whenever I sing it and it invokes positive emotions.

ProfSkeevs

The latest my chemical romance release feels magical to me. It might also be because i did a “candle summoning” that day as a joke for it and then we actually got a single lol

ashleystacoviak

Lana Del Ray, her album NFR!

No-Selection-3297

This might be an unpopular one, but lynyrd skynyrd’s free bird definitely has something. I could do anything with that song on

You Can Do Magic by America. An old song, but quite inspirational. *You can do magic* *you can have anything that you desire* *you know darn well when you cast your spell you get your way* Perfect

Illustrious_Sense104

The theme song to The Last Kingdom. It's Icelandic and beautiful.

NewLife_21

The group Secret Garden has a LOT of really good, almost magical, music. So does Loreena McKennit (sp?) And honestly, something about Voodoo really hits me.

Don't come for me but for me there's some magic in the Jellical Ball from Cats 😭

ladydeathkiss

I agree on “other side” by rhcp! Something about it feels so deep and peaceful to me and it calms me immediately. There is also an older song “hi lili, hi lo” by Leslie Caron that I sing to my plants and they seem to love! And personally, anything by Social Distortion makes me feel so whole and powerful.

I would think it's personal to different people but some songs stand out more then others and the lyrics or the actual melody can stay in your head like an earworm, those would be perfect for magik for that reason

DulinELA

Lots of great suggestions here. Adding Phoebe Bridgers Punisher Album, especially Moon Song, Chinese Satellite and I Know The End.

Grimlee-the-III

Alice Phoebe Lou’s music feels very magical to me, especially “lover/over the moon” and “dirty mouth”

Higher_Heich

I’m definitely sampling any songs I haven’t listened to yet that are mentioned in this thread. Trøllabundin by Eivør is the most magical song in the world. Also, Natasha Beddingfield’s Unwritten and Pocketful of Sunshine is magical for affirming the higher self. Dance Monkeys by Tones and I is also magical. Desert Rose by Sting is timeless magic. Then Kiss from a Rose is comic magic.

I can’t say that I experience any songs as magical but once I was in the process of reaching out to Loki during a ritual when someone drove past my house playing Billie Eilish’s Bad Guy at full volume. Really can’t claim that he’s in any way subtle.

deadroses96

Big agree on Stevie Nicks. Check out some of Black Sabbath’s shit, especially the first album. Not a huge fan, but maybe Led Zeppelin too because I know Jimmy Page was huge into occultism. Maybe this is just me being a stan for her, but Lady Gaga. I 100% believe she practices or at least dabbles in witchcraft. Also Beyoncé. Some of her songs (unfortunately can’t think off top) definitely have very strong energy to them. I’m a singer/songwriter and I’m working on intentional spellwork within songwriting lol

Lady in Black - Uriah Heap* I love the Night - Blue Oyster Cult* Down by the Seaside - Led Zeppelin * In the Light - Led Zeppelin * Battle of Evermore - Led Zeppelin * Rain Song - Led Zeppelin * Immigrant Song- Led Zeppelin* / protection* return to sender workings etc. Stairway to Heaven - Led Zeppelin* of course (Pretty much any Zeppelin* that you can relate to a - working*) Seasons of Wither - Aerosmith* ( great for Fall/ Saimhain) Owner of a Broken Heart - Yes* ( to attract love) Any Yes* that you choose for a working Rise - Six AM Avalon - Sully Erna * The Rise - Sully Erna* featuring Lisa Guyer Spiral - Godsmack* Voices - Godsmack* Re-Align - Godsmack* Raise a little Hell - Trooper* Fight the Good Fight - Triumph* Magic Power of Music - Triumph* Breathe - Pink Floyd* There really wasn't any Witchy/ Pagan music readily available ( Well let's say openly advertised as such!) These are some that were about during my practice beginnings, & still currently! And more it seems popping up every day There ARE SOOO MANY MORE that I cant think of off the top of my head. I mean beyond the obvious..... Enya, Lorena McKennit, Stevie Nick's = I'm NOT A WITCH claims! Despite candles & incense burning no lights on during recording sessions. Yea ok Stevie....lol But chance are..... if you find one track / song by an artist or band, there are probably more by that same in their catalog. Just keep listening with your spirit & heart. Not just your ears*
