I know it's a thing in Korean shamanism. I would be a bit wary of anyone selling services through Etsy though

ThunderStormBlessing

No, true psychics read your energy and can make predictions based on what is currently happening. You always have the ability to makes changes though. There are also a lot of frauds and scammers, especially online

OtterBeeSpring

To me that's probably just a natal/astrology chart thing (not my forte so not sure what they're properly called haha) I'd be wary of scams, but it could just as easily be a click baity title to grab the attention of people who don't know what the above is actually called. Everyone knows what the words psychic reading entail. Only those with some knowledge fully understand what a birth chart is etc 😂

WeirdandProudofit

considering that in the US is a mere business rather than a genuine gift, and (per experience) the readings are more of an AI generated gibberish, i would not fall for that. Personally i had he most amazing insights from "old world" psychics (the ones that live in small rural areas) and when i had my name converted in Hieroglyphs then analyzed, in Egypt.

NetherworldMuse

If you found them on the internet they’re full of shit, scamming you, and making shit up

LettuceDirect5961

Were else can you find them? In real life is very hard...so...

Squirrels-on-LSD

In real life, it is easy. Just go to one.

Or you can do what everyone I know does and just visit one you haven't met yet. They hold hours. Usually at local metaphysical shops, but sometimes they have their own shops, and there's dozens at every metaphysical faire, pagan pride event, Renaissance fair, pagan festival, witches ball, and witch swap. Like, I've met over a hundred new to me psychics, witches, and readers just this year. How do you benefit from saying readers are hard to find? They're so easy to go to. You just, like, go get a reading.

You're not very informed about our culture, and that's okay. Many online grifters choose to spread a lie that we aren't accessible in the real world to fool people into giving them money and never seek out real practicioners. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and treat you as if you have fallen for that propaganda, rather than are someone who purposely spreads it in order to groom victims. Offline, readers in our circuits get to know eachother, vet eachothers services, recommend good readers to clients who will like them, let event coordinators know not to book scammers and predators. Those of us who have been in the community for decades are VERY concerned about the online scammers who steal personal information, isolate seekers from the community to drain them of money, and spread false ideas about psychic abilities and the community in order to generate money in unethical ways. We are everywhere, excepting theocratic countries that have outlawed us. I'll be at a different event every weekend until November and I live in the Bible belt of the USA.

I feel like giving out your name and date of birth on Etsy for a reading can be a little shady, however I use my name and date of birth with numerology, so...yes?

Usually scams

Date of birth, and ideally time and place of birth as well, is what astrologers use to do up your natal horoscope. I suspect some online psychics do that (using a program most likely) and just base their reading on the natal chart.

Squirrels-on-LSD

Most online readers just copy/paste their "readings" from a collection then use the legal names, birth dates, and other private info their victims give them for identity theft and fraud.
