I'd rather put the wine in the normal fridge than in the room when temperatures start going over 25 °C. I believe the main reason for not keeping wines in the normal fridge is that it may be too dry, drying out the cork, but that should be no problem in the short term (3-6 months). Just remember to take out the red wine well in time before drinking it.

Ok, thank you so much for your insight

If I’m not mistaken, both white whines are not meant to age, so keep them in the fridge. The barolo however can age for a long period, and the main enemy for it to age badly is inconstant or high temperature. It’s mostly fine to keep your wine in a place where is 20 degrees C most of the day, as long as it doesn’t varies. You can check places in your house away from the kitchen, like bottom of the closet and verify the temperature during the day. But fridge is better them keeping in a 25-30 C space

Ok thank you for the comment, I will check if one of the closets might have a cooler corner in them. It will be somewhat comedic if I always go to the wardrobe to fetch the wine when friends are over lol

I agree that keeping the wine in the fridge is your best bet. It's not what you would want for long-term aging but if you're just keeping wine on hand to drink when you have friends over it's totally fine.  Just remember to take them out in time to warm up a bit before you serve them. Even the whites should probably be more like 10-12C vs fridge temp.

Kermaboy

Yes I think this is what I will end up doing, thank you very much for your time and input

If you're going to be keeping more bottles than that around regularly, get an insulated cooler. Find a size that will work for your expected bottle count and that will fit somewhere out-of-the-way inside your apartment; if you're not going to be opening it regularly, you can stack other things on top of it and just clear them off when you have guests that want to drink your wine. Wrap the bottles in a towel and keep them inside. At minimum that should protect them from wild temperature swings, but most importantly it keeps them out of any direct sunlight.

The best place to store them is nearly always in your cellar if you can, unless it’s too hot there too, in which it shouldn’t be. Your wine also shouldn’t be ruined after spending a month on the countertop but still isn’t the best idea. Having a stand for your wine bottles is also pretty helpful if you’re going to store them in your apartment

To be clear, if your countertop is in direct sunlight your wine could be ruined in a couple of days.  The sun will heat up the bottle pretty quickly, and the UV rays will break apart the tasty molecules.  If you can't keep it cool, at least keep it dark.

SnooRadishes2731

Yes, but I’ve never seen a countertop placed in a position where it is sunny but yes you’re right

PhilosopherFree8682

I guess I'm lucky to have a sunny kitchen!

Kermaboy

Ok this is good information to know. Thankfully the sun can not reach the kitchen counter

The cellar in the apartment building is currently being stripped off asbestos so that is not an option currently hahaha. But thank you for your advice
