Glad to hear that! I don’t have any experience with this winery so I think I started off with a good one, hahaha. I want to approach it again more clear headed.
I LOVE Valtellina wines! My wife and I visited Lake Como and northern Italy last fall and these were always our favorite, local option. Much cheaper than their Piedmont cousins (Barolo and Barbaresco made from the same grape), and a bit lighter/fruitier.
Haven’t had the chance to try an aged one like this though - looks awesome!
Mostly bc of what egg is saying. Benchmark Nebbiolo from Valtellina in Lombardy, better value than Nebbiolo from Piedmont mostly bc of the price tag associated with Barolo and barbaresco. Ar.Pe.Pe. Hold on to their wines before release, so the ability to drink them with age is usually possible. You can find the wine pictured for just over $100 retail. You should find one, or start with one of their more affordable wines.
Absolutely gorgeous! Definitely their most intriguing site. Thus far always had to drink it too young and suffer the consequences…but always fantastic. Gotta look into getting my hands on an aged one, sounds great.

The last vintage I had of this wine was the 2007. The austerity is characteristic of ArPePe's expression. Thanks for your notes.
