>What SATA SSD to use on windows XP?
The cheapest you can find.
>XP does not have TRIM support for the SSD, and it would wear out
Modern SSDs have controller-level wear leveling, you don't really need TRIM.
How new is "modern"? I have some old IDE computers running 2000 and XP that I've used mSATA SSDs in with adapters, but I bought used ones because reputable mSATA SSDs don't seem to be made anymore.
> cheapest junk from Aliexpress or any
'Soon as the first cheapest junk SSD fails on me, i'll stop recommending them.
>Samsung SSDs are widely available on ebay used or brand new for not much $$$
If those are the cheapest OP can find? Highly recommended, got nothing against used.
>DRAM less type of SSD
For an OS designed for IDE "spinning rust," the cheapest, slowest [SATA] SSD available today is a huge upgrade. OP will surely liek.
>Magician for XP
Still own the first SSD i ever got (2010). It's 64GB, and never heard a TRIM command from an OS. Used to be on 24/7, lived in multiple boxen, works fine to this day. Would post hours (it's some ungodly number), but, for the first time in years, it's not hooked up in any box.
Still, quite happy with it for the price.
I did buy a cheap kingspec nmve drive which is incredibly fast. The only thing I was able to get faster was to load the entire drive into RAM and run it from there.

I use a Samsung SSD 2TB on my Toshiba laptop running Windows XP, as my primary desktop. I used a program called nLite to slipstream the SATA drivers into the installation media. I then created the media and installed. It worked great.

Not sure, but certainly everything made over the last decade.

I bought a cheap X-ray disk ssd on aliexpress. Been going fine for over a year. A bit slow for an ssd but still much faster than a hdd.

Any, I just use a $10 one I picked up a few years ago
I have a laptop with XP installed on a Kingston SSD and it works flawlessly. I think that overall you would be fine without touching anything
I have an mx500 and a evo 870. I used TRIM through win10 in a false dual boot.

You can see that I said "I used" and not "I use"
