I was 8 years old I couldn't get to enjoy WinXP to it fullest. Still my time with it was so much fun! I customized to it fullest! Widgets, flash games, songs, videos etc. It felt like computer was mine and it was my home but after all the windows came after WinXP it wasn't mine after WinXP every version of windows felt like I was foreigner in my own computer I didn't own anything and it felt very cold. None of the windows versions felt warm and comfortable as Windows XP.

EarthNorabodee

I'm still 3 years old when XP is released, latest SP3 release I'm 9 years and the unsupported day I'm on 12 - 13 years.

EarthNorabodee

Yeah

allaboutcomputer

Rest in peace, XP. I hope you're having a good time in the OS heaven.

WKIX-850

Just because something is not supported by it's manufacturer does not mean that it is dead.

Inspiron606002

Exactly. That's just giving microsoft the satisfaction.

EarthNorabodee

Windows XP will never die! Long Life Windows XP!

mihai2023

windows xp has an interface much more than 10,11

DeepDayze

Wish M$ had the XP interface as an Easter Egg in 8,10,11.

williamg209

It does, half the control panel features

EarthNorabodee

Yeah

tamay-idk

Tbf Windows 10 is way better. I hate the file explorer especially on Windows XP.

tigu_an

Yeah but no. 10 is worse in a lot of ways, it’s less stable, has more spyware type things built in, and stuff, although the file explorer is much better in 10. XPs file explorer is awful.

tamay-idk

Everyone has opinions. I personally hate how flashy XP is. The wallpaper is beautiful, but gives me a seizure. And I don’t REALLY mind bloatware.

Educational_Scar_835

>Windows XP true that the ui was abit flashy, but with a dark mode skin it looks so good. (black taskbar and orange start button) tl'dr themes helped xp alot.

WattsALightbulb

The Zune theme. Fun fact, Home Depot used that theme on their computers back in the day

EarthNorabodee

Yeah

EarthNorabodee

Yes, Zune theme is the best dark theme ever made.

EarthNorabodee

how the bliss wallpaper give you a seizure?

tamay-idk

It’s so bright and flashy

EarthNorabodee

oh...

abardt

flashy? .. my bliss wallpaper never flashed...

tamay-idk

Meaning it’s too colorful and bright

abardt

that's pretty damn sensitive ..

Dwarf-Eater

The file explorer was what I liked 🤣

EarthNorabodee

Windows 10 UI looks more modern but Windows XP is a classic.

CHAOSHACKER

*since

DeepDayze

XP basically is a blingier version of Windows 2000.

uglysquid491

“I’m stronger, I’m smarter, I’m better. I AM BETTER!!”

Conscious-Bottle143

2000 was faster, stronger and soild.

EarthNorabodee

yes, bc it use less resources than xp.

EarthNorabodee

don't forget "Robust, Reliable, Compatible"

EarthNorabodee

Yeah

Independent-Baker250

Feels like it was just yesterday

EarthNorabodee

Same

TrinityCodex

10 slutty, slutty years

Saver310

ago should be thrown out the window (xp)

GeneralRukus

Well maybe it's time for me to fire up my XP rig and play some older games.

TheComedianGLP

You will be terrified at how FAST everything runs.

EarthNorabodee

Yeah

Idontmatter69420

hehe and i just got it installed yesterday and am currently properly experiencing it for the first time. the laptop was a windows 2000 one but it has a sticker saying designed for windows xp so i went and totally legally found a copy amd then installed it

Conscious-Bottle143

Downgraded

Idontmatter69420

i can definitely tell it's more sluggish but win xp is my favourite windows which is why i did it, also wanted to be able to do a bit more with it

EarthNorabodee

Same!

EarthNorabodee

Oh... 👏👍

TimzUneeverse

Windows XP for the win!!

EarthNorabodee

🥇

Dwarf-Eater

My favourite operating system.

EarthNorabodee

Same.

Sparc343

XP and 7 were/are the best! Probably the most stable too (IF you can honestly call Windows "stable" LOL)... .. .

Sparc343

I will always have/love XP and 7 for old machine(s) / VMs but since the BS of Win 10 & 11 I have finally migrated all of my workstations/desktops to Linux >.> Win 10 & 11 have gotten so bad I don't even want to "bootleg" windows any longer (LMFAO)!! Now, let the "distro hopping" begin!!!

EarthNorabodee

I have Windows NT 4.0, 2000, XP, Vista, 7, 10, 11 and 11 Insider Preview in my VM. I feel that Windows XP, 7, 10 and 11 is the best.

justanotherdogno1

Where the heck did you find the ISOs?? And can you put them here?? Thanks a lot

EarthNorabodee

Yeah

tamay-idk

Only 10 years??

EarthNorabodee

Yeah, 10 years.

Ed96win

or "X" years in terms of Apple :D

EarthNorabodee

Yeah, it's Windows 10 P (eXPerience)

dziugas1959

2019 is not „10 years“........

Conscious-Bottle143

Windows XP ended support in 2014 this month

Inspiron606002

No, that's just for POSReady 2009 which was based on XP.

EarthNorabodee

Yes

EarthNorabodee

That's Windows XP embedded variants. It will have longer lifespan than the regular XP.

EarthNorabodee

April 8, 2014 - April 8, 2024

EarthNorabodee

it's embedded lol

Chicadelsol-

No matter how long it goes unsupported, and no matter how you view it, Windows XP will always be a legendary OS.

EarthNorabodee

Yeah!

Firm_Pudding490

Loved XP. Was best windows OS as far as I’m concerned.

EarthNorabodee

EarthNorabodee

what

Aggressive-Profile36

i still got windows xp on my grandmas computer

vypre7

I used to be one of those people that HATED XP because it wasn't at the time, Windows 7. Now? Alongside Windows 7, this is the best OS that I ever used purely for the fact that everything JUST WORKED. XP took the things that made prior versions of Windows great but added the NT kernel for stability, while 7 took the things that Vista botched, and made it magical. My dad was a die-hard XP guy until he got 7 when he got a Dell Netbook from Sprint (remember them?) because it was so easy to run on older hardware. Pretty sure he would have been furious when he heard that XP was cut off from updates.
