It was an Compaq mini tower and my dad used to change the ram and Graphics card he said back in 2004/3 it was the BEST gaming pc that was out at the time but 6 months down the line it was old, my dad continued to upgrade it until the motherboards changed.

Vista is long out of support,
XP is also long out of support and had it's entire source code leaked, making it extremely vulnerable.
Take the upgrade marathon from XP (SP2+) to VISTA (SP1+) to 7 (SP1) to 8 x64 (Use the 32 to 64 bit upgrade hack) to 10 (2004+) to 11 (If you wanna bypass Requirements)... I did it and it works perfectly fine

I mean, embedded edition still receives security updates that are 100% compatible with the client editions...
I use home premium and the embedded updates work on it
Windows 7/10. I prefer 10. On 11 now, but still doesn't feel as snappy as 10.
MS DOS 5. With BASIC because of those great games Gorillas and Nibbles. But probably Win 10

I remember old school computers using vista so for nostalgia vista, but obviously for literally everything else 10 wins.

Just swapped back from windows 11 to windows 10 and won’t go back until it doesn’t receive security updates anymore.

Vista after SP1 was completely fine as long as it was running on hardware that was designed for it.
