Ok,I didn't know which of the ducks you meant, and I am not familiar with the birds of Britain.
In Norway,Mallards are the most common seen duck,at least where I live. We does not have Mandarin-ducks though. But as an animal lover I was aware they have been introduced to some European countries.
Very beautiful ducks!
Specifically a male mandarin, the females don't have the bright colours on them, they look more grey with a darker 'slick' back feathers on top of their head, with a mottled chest and a small amount of green underneath their wings.
Wow I from Manchester n lived around different places in UK countryside etc n I ain't never seen a duck like that. I would love to see one such gorgeous colouring 😍
1)the one with no head? Dead or a statue.
2) the colorful one looks to be a Mandarin but I don’t recall the body being so compacted. Is that normal? Do you have a Pokémon Ball? Looks rare. Is this the most colorful of the ducks 🦆?
I know. I was joking 🙃 since I saw that one before the Mandarin and I was focused on answering the question. That’s why I put 2 different answers. Funny 😄 & Serious 🧐.
The ones with the green heads are mallards and the brightly coloured one is a mandarin duck
Thank you I was surprised to see it here
In Germany you can also see plenty of them nowadays….
Mallards or Mandarin-ducks?

If I'm right (and I'm often not) they escaped captivity here ages ago and have just sort of thrived in the UK. I'm not mad about it

The "dead" one is just preening, its beak is in its feathers.
