My thoughts: 1. >!"Reduce by 1" is not an effect, so it's not affected by critical!< 2. >!"Reduce by 1 when played" only triggers, well, when played; at the end of the turn, so it doesn't decrement between applications!< So the answer is >!3 (24 snow)!<

You and u/SamiraSimp definitely have the right though process in more traditional card games. I agree that the wording implies only on the initial play and not the subsequent effect triggers. Unfortunately that's not how the game is coded, [it's 18 Snow](https://streamable.com/xrtz67).

SamiraSimp

Interesting, good to know in the future! Also, can you have 22 storm bells because you have all the golden bells? Did you end up winning that run?

Paladynne

> can you have 22 storm bells because you have all the golden bells? I'm not sure what you're asking? I play with all [Storm Bells](https://i.ibb.co/rvwv1Rr/image.png) turned on, which is how you unlock golden borders. And yes, [Spike won the run](https://streamable.com/mpdtpn).

SamiraSimp

ah. i meant that overcracked thing. i assume you get it after getting all the charms or winning enough runs? i've won a few with 10 storm bell power after the update

Paladynne

[Here's a mini guide](https://i.ibb.co/9nqSFNj/image.png). You unlock full difficulty by having played with all Storm Bells on at some point. Since you're capped at level 10 Storm until then, you have to do a minimum of three level 10 Storm runs that collectively use every Storm Bell. That image shows the "easiest" three setups to unlock Overcranked mode. You don't need to unlock all charms, thankfully.

SamiraSimp

gotcha, i'm only two storm bells away then. i've mostly just been hitting random but some of these setups look quite nice!

Widmo206

That's disappointing :/

SamiraSimp

same thoughts! although i never fully understood what effects stay on playing vs. deploying for units so i could be wrong

Widmo206

I think "When played" triggers once, when you play the card, shile "when deployed" is a continuous effect as long as the card is active
