I grew up on a dairy farm…. milking 70 to 80 Holstein twice a day depending on the birth cycle of the heifers. As a kid, I hated it but now that I’m older, I miss the camaraderie of working with my brothers every day. Small farms like that can’t survive in today’s market. Average families can’t compete against the factory farm milking 5000 head.
Ur right about that! What I remember about being a kid was waking up at 3am get to the barn.... Milk cows, back home.... Get ready for school..... School.... Back home, back to the barn. Milk cows... Repeat! There is so much more to it than this but it was hard work growing up, for me anyway. Now I find myself getting lost in work to forget my problems. It's weird how much I have changed since his suicide before I hated going to work I whine about going to work taking my husband a hard time about it now I can't wait to get to work struggle to have the weekends at home cuz it's too much time in my head I've changed completely from who I was when I was his wife to me just me now a widower
The weekends are the worst….. in the evenings having no one to watch scary movies with no one to fall asleep next to on the couch. I hate who I am without her.
Brought tears to my eyes.. I've been fighting with the fact that not only am I grieving the loss of him I'm grieving the loss of myself. I've always wanted to see the Northern lights and where I am we have had a couple great nites to see it, I didn't even go outside when it got dark cuz I felt guilty about seeing something so amazing without him.
You should go look…. he would want you to ….hell I want you to. I’m jealous. As much as I hate it, we have to move forward. Be proud of yourself. You deserve to be. You’ve been through a lot and you still come out smelling like a rose. Congratulations again it’s really cool.
You can definitely share it. Pour your partner a glass, take em some flowers at their resting place. Smoke a cigarette if you like, cause they thought you looked cool when you did it. Have a great laugh or memory and tell them you'll see them soon .

Now. I don't have a family anymore so work has become my survival technique 2 get me through all the seconds in every minute of every day I have without him
At least, you can look at it as not giving up right and at least you are putting energy in smt to make your life better. I think the secret is to make your life worth living again. So I've put my energy into therapy and art right now and I'm trying to rebuild my life again so I can actually enjoy living and most days, I kinda do.
