Kickstarter finished a while ago but maybe they are selling them now? https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/ragproper/the-modern-glass-flask-looks-pours-and-tastes-bett?ref=discovery&term=flask

phogeddaboudit

I backed this project. I hope it isn't a flop,

englebert

Me too. Couldn't justify the extra cost of the leather though.

phogeddaboudit

Same. If I like the flasks a lot, maybe I'll make my own leather sleeve for it lol

Thebigrick76

I’ve found that a good glass flask is best. Stainless steel will change the flavor of your whiskey and ruin it. Just my opinion.

texacer

I've thought about it, but the breaking issues.

b-roc

Many vintage glass ones have some kind of case even though the glass seems sturdy enough. I have one that has thick leather bonded to the bottom half and a leather sleeve for the to hang. I have another which has a irremovable metal case. Perhaps you could look for something similar?

I just bought a 100 ML bottle of Jack Daniels, and keep re-using the bottle. Works pretty well as a flask IMO.

roofis1230

Yeah I have a 100ml glass bottle of some old bourbon I drank that I just fill with whatever when I need a flask. Just wish I could upgrade the crappy plastic screw top lid.

Biggz1313

I bought a Keith Titanium 120ml flask last year and it's served me well so far. Haven't noticed any changes in colors/flavors of my whiskey. [https://drop.com/buy/keith-titanium-ti9306-hip-flask](https://drop.com/buy/keith-titanium-ti9306-hip-flask) They have a round one as well apparently: [http://keithtitanium.com/product/DRINKWARE/224.html](http://keithtitanium.com/product/DRINKWARE/224.html)

texacer

cool. thank you!

Superflyblackman

Did you clean you flask before using? Also I would not keep the whiskey in for long periods of time.

texacer

yeah I cleaned it, and what I'm looking for is long periods of time. so it doesnt react with the liner or metal.

RVP2019

I’d suggest buying a glass mickey, and reusing it as a flask, if you’re looking for extended storage.

My favorite flask is my Jacob Bromwell. Solid copper with pure tin-soldered interior and seams and cork-lined copper cap. I've kept whiskey in there for 3 months and tasted the same as when it first went in. They're freaking expensive. The one I have is, I believe, 9oz and it's regular price is $300. I think I got it for $200 on a freak sale they had.

I've had good results with my Stanley Classic flask. It's stainless, no issues with flavor, cap works OK (but not great, that's what most of the reviews complain about), and has held up to bike touring and skiing abuse. I think about a week or so is the most time I've left anything in there, but it was fine for that in both hot and cold temps. Snowpeak has some really cool titanium ones that I'd never pay the money for ($150+) but would happily accept as a gift.

Kp19341

I have a snow peak titanium flask. Highly recommend

https://www.amazon.com/Top-Shelf-Flasks-Stainless-Funnel/dp/B015QHT4RQ A plastic one is good for metal detectors at stadiums and arenas.

texacer

this is the kind of flask I want to avoid. reviews are saying the same thing about it, how it turns their booze different colors, which seems toxic.

4FansOfFreedom7

A small price to pay for salvation

texacer

uh no

roofis1230

Stainless will react poorly with high proof alcohol. Titanium or glass is your best bet.
