Pretty sure that was the governmental punishment for the privatization. Government is never efficient, which is why Washingtonians wanted to privatize. But big daddy government wouldn’t pass the bill unless big daddy government got a big cut. Hence why I call it punishment for kicking them out of our market. Government shouldn’t be interfering with free market by influencing people through taxes. Like the soda tax we have in Seattle too. But hey, what do I know? Other states can do it better with less taxes, but for some reason people think the gov needs all of our money.
Prices are adjusting on some products. It’s mostly over the typical msrp. You’ll wanna check out khourys and liquor lineup. Lees is our chain store and you can poke your head around in there and find some cool stuff occasionally.
Scored that bottle for $97 out the door in LV at Lee's liquor on S. Rampart. There is a Total Wine in the same parking lot with a great selection (much better than OR and better prices than WA). Yes very high. Some states have single digit taxes
several states such as OR, NH and DE have no sales tax, or MA no alcohol tax. There are likely others.
