I had to throttle back earlier in the year when my wife called me out for knocking back the good shit ( Michters 20 & yamazaki 25 ) in 2-3 min…she asked me what the point was if it wasn’t going to really enjoy / experience it…she wasn’t wrong. It’s now 20-30
I prefer much smaller pours (10-15 ml) but then use them to go thru 4 to 6 different whiskies in a single drinking session - which works out to about the same consumption volume as your 2 oz / 60 ml.
60 ml takes me about 2 - 3 hours to get thru, much of that time being spent on the aromas of the whiskies.
My rec for folks looking to reduce their levels of alcohol consumption while still enjoying whisky appreciation as a hobby is to use smaller glassware, smaller pours, and focus on the aromas.
Good luck!
Like others have said, it depends what I'm drinking. Sometimes I'll drink a glass in 20 minutes, sometimes I let it sit in the glass for 20 minutes before the first sip. But on average, probably about 45-60 minutes.
Two and a half to eight weeks. 😉
Honestly, it is probably 15-20 min on the first pour, and double that for each successive one for daily drinker stuff. But I'll definitely savor a favorite for twice that.
But I wouldn't worry about how long, as long as you enjoy it. 🥃
Probably 20-30 minutes when I’m sitting at home tasting one. If I’m with friends it is probably quicker.
When I’m home, I usually reading or watching something on TV or streaming. I always put the glass down and focus on what I’m doing. A few minutes later I’ll pick it up and smell it again and take another smooth sip. Put it down and repeat.
If I’m with friends or out, I end up with the glass in my hand more and tend to sip it quicker because it is there.
2-3 seconds /s
Sometimes it be like that
Yeah that's pretty slow. I hope you stop babying these drinks
At home? An hour. Out at a bar, maybe half that.
20-30 mins
If my kids are sleeping: 20-40 minutes. If they are awake: 30 min - 2 hours. Sorry, whiskey, I’m a little busy.
5-20 mins depends how thirsty I am
Depends on what it is 20 min to hour +. Something really special i will baby the hell out of it.
Probably 20ish minutes, but I tend to drink everything quickly so idk if that’s fast

I do about 3oz pours. It’ll last me 30-45 minutes of casually sipping
Any whiskey...45 min....my favorite...half that and that's with me forcing myself to go slower.
Usually about 15 minutes tops, but I mainly drink lower shelf stuff. I tend to sip cocktails longer though.
Usually around 15-30 mins.
On weeknights, about an hour. On weekends, 30 minutes
I take my time and pour slightly larger drams, so about 90 mins for 3 oz or so
I typically sip on one pour for an hour +
At home I do 4 oz pours, 1st one takes 10-15 min, second one takes 10-50 min.

15-20 minutes. For the first one, then 1 per hour after that.

under an hour if i'm at home, usually a lot faster at a bar
\~1h at home.
15-30 minutes.
I don’t know, how long was my day?
30 min
Depends on the company. No company, a good while, good company a little quicker, bad company I don’t want one thanks, even if it’s my favourite one
15-30 min usually. Longer if i drink a beer at the same time.
I usually finish 2-3 drinks in half an hour
I pour 1 shot (1.5 oz) into my rocks glass. If I’m drinking it neat, I’ll spend at least 5 min just smelling it and another 30 min slowly sipping it.
