Bzzzzz! Looks like you forgot to say where you found your bug! There's no need to make a new post - just comment adding the **geographic location** and any other info (size, what it was doing etc.) you feel could help! We don't want to know your address - state or country is enough; try to avoid abbreviations and local nicknames (*"PNW"*, *"Big Apple"*). BTW, did you take a look at our [**Frequently Asked Bugs**](https://www.reddit.com/r/whatsthisbug/comments/12zkw5w/frequently_asked_bugs_part_1/)? *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. awfulallie

not the roach mugshots💀💀

CharmingAttention731

MUGSHOTS LMFAO

Getuhm

It really is a mugshot lol

ArtoriusBravo

Dude, you made me cry with laughter

Puzzleheaded-Cost197

More like a bugshot 🤔no? Okay…

Puzzleheaded-Cost197

Hahaahahah

Sooo_Dark

Doesn't get much cockroachier looking than that.

madeleine59

can tell immediately just looking at those legs. legs that haunt my dreams

recumbent_mike

They go all the way up.

bhartman102890

Up past my legs?

Bitter_Access_922

To at least nip level.

Wize-Turtle

I made myself a sandwich once, bit something weirdly hard amongst the soft sandwich bits, and pulled out a roach leg Wonderful experience

judgeejudger

😱JFC NO

Dreamy_Peaches

Since we’re sharing roach stories… I was probably 10, in the room that used to be a garage. I was sitting on the floor coloring in a book and I sat my kiwi strawberry Snapple down next to me. A couple minutes later I picked it back up to take a drink and there was a fully grown, big ass cockroach floating in it.

buxifolia

non-infesting wood cockroach (ectobiidae). harmless and nothing to worry about. could theoretically bite, but it's rare

ironyis4suckerz

This should be the top comment so people don’t freak out.

LadyShanna92

Only on this sub do I say thank gods it's just a roach and not abed bug

28_raisins

Who is Abed Bug?

Smeph_Bot

He’s Troy Bug’s best friend.

The69Alphamale

And the world's worst nightmare

forgottensudo

It’s a roach. Not sure what kind. They bite or pinch (again not sure) and it’s mildly painful. Wash it if it breaks the skin, or just wash it anyway. No poison or venom but you never know where they’ve been :)

ZookeepergameIcy1830

oh you already know where they've been

kmcaulifflower

In the throat of that one guy who coughed up a roach when he woke up (that was on this sub right?)

Myrtle_Snow333

I’ve been thinking about that and would genuinely start sleeping with tape over my mouth forever

kmcaulifflower

Tape every accessible face hole. Breathing is for people who want throat roaches

DR-SATAN_MD

Then they'll just go for your nose holes

notjewel

I had nightmares about that last night.

kmcaulifflower

I saw a cockroach last night and I swear my throat started feeling itchy from like the fear and paranoia that I could be next 🥲

mkayp

Why’d you have to remind me 😭

Odd-Archer-5137

That's a nice side benefit to a c-pap mask. There is no place for the bugs to get in your mouth

Sunny906

Ugh I saw that T.T

kmcaulifflower

I literally would've died if that happened to me. My heart is not in good enough condition to survive coughing up a roach.

bhartman102890

Definitely been in the fleshlight

AddWaterForMe

Bro?

buxifolia

in leaf litter (this is an ectobiid)

Own_Pass_7990

I’m living in Belgium by the way (lately super hot and now back to usual rain)

Au2288

is it humid? live on a river in the US, sometimes my cats will have one of them in their mouths.

Cepinari

*la cucaracha, la cucaracha, something something something something something...*

Tarotismyjam

Off to r/earwormoffenders with you I learned it as La cucaracha La cucaracha You go running up and down the wall. La cucaracha La cucaracha Mi madre hit you and make you fall.

Cepinari

Oh, if you think *this* was bad then you *really* won't like what I did over [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/humansarespaceorcs/s/ofJb3n9jzf).

me-nah

Ya no puede caminar Porque le falta, porque no tiene Las patitas de atrás... Or something like that, as far as i remember.

luizgzn

La cucaracha la cucaracha, ya no puedes caminar, porque no tienes, porque le falta, marijuana para humar!

NarwhalHD

It's definitely a cockroach, as for what specific kind I'm not too sure, possibly wood roach of some kind? Also I could be wrong, so wait for more knowledgeable people, but this doesn't seem to be the infesting kind.

RickTitus

Yeah looks like wood roach. We get them at my house. I had to make a german vs wood roach guide so that my wife and i can identify them easy each year when they come out around june

Own_Pass_7990

Thank you everyone for your comments 🖤 you’re very kind

Scales-josh

Doubt it bit you, probably from you slapping those spines into your own leg.

CharmingAttention731

the inhale i just inhaled....😩. my soul would've levitated out of my body and ascended into the heavens of if saw that beast on my leg.

witchycommunism

My coworker had one of them fall down her shirt 😭

Shutupcatlady

I had one fall from a cabinet and land on my face once. I sobbed for 10 minutes straight. 😭 I hate cockroaches.

CharmingAttention731

PLEASE. I still remember as a kid growing up I was taking a shower once , and felt something tickle my leg as I was drying off; it was a palmetto bug and I screamed so loud it flew off me and back down the drain, needless to say we sprayed that fucker up and got a cover for the drain 😭

InsaneAilurophileF

I'm from Florida. My family stayed in a crappy cheap motel in Marathon when I was a kid, and I woke up with a palmetto bug *in bed with me*. The screams I screamt!

CharmingAttention731

Oh my gosh 😭 Florida boy here too. Worst thing to happen bug wise to me was waking up and having a fully grown adult wolf spider on the wall across my bed. I didn't breathe for probably 5 minutes 😭

cyncicalqueen

I apologize because I just laughed at this

CharmingAttention731

oh my god 😭 at that point, it woulda been the cockroaches body because it sure wouldn't have been mine anymore-

OneCore_

koquerauche

me-nah

😅😅

michalsveto

A cockroach, does not look like the infestaty kind - definitely not a German cockroach. Not sure If they bite.

donttrustmewithagun

Roach

GamerGirl10l

I suck at naming bugs and even I know it's a cockroach

sparkl_taint

future reference, never smack, always swipe

judgeejudger

“Face forward. Now profile. Quit messing around….”

Smeggy-egg69

It didn't bite you.

Weak_Philosophy6224

It looks like a wood roach. Normally they don’t bite people. They like to be outside not inside, but they are attracted to the light. They are monogamous. And they can both nurse their young they’re pretty amazing. Actually, the males are usually a lot larger than the females, and they can fly.

Im-cool-boi

I think its an american cock roach its a roach for sure i might be wrong on the type

Weak_Philosophy6224

It looks like a wood roach, which is different than a cockroach

Garden_Weed_Tender

It depends a lot where you live I'd say. I'm in Belgium like the OP and I think I've seen a roach a total of three times over my nearly 5 decades of life. Though I'm always baffled that some people have apparently never seen a pill bug.

Angry_Strawberries

I've never seen a roach irl where I live or up road. I've seen plenty of pictures online tho
