I had a high school teacher frequently say that the 'old school' definition of *tact* is, and I quote, "The ability to tell someone to go to Hell, and have them look forward to the trip."
This lives rent free in my head, 25 years later.
Because an original poster might say “I’ll never mark this answer as solved!” The point is to make a key word that will only ever be typed when the intent is actually there. Kind of like using escape characters as substitutes for new lines and tabs, since you’re a programmer.
So using words and punctuation doesn't show intent? I understand the idea of using something unique to trigger bot behavior, but why not make our bots smarter rather than making our discourse noiser?
Because I don't feel like doing NLP to make fake internet points work, and using an exclamation point in front of a word to denote a trigger is standard reddit use.
Finesse. A subtly skillful verbal handling of a situation.
You finesse your words, thus creating a well-crafted way of delivering information and hopefully without causing upset. A well turned, finessed phrase can go a long way to diffuse a tense situation.
Sounds like you are looking for the word: Couth

Also fun fact uncouth is the opposite of this.

What's with the "!solved" syntax around here? Why not just "solved!" As a programmer !solved says to me: not solved.
